  9. I received the survey then voucher. Purchased Bias Amp 2 Elite as a result as the price with the 50% discount plus extra survey voucher made it too tempting. After install it did not load. I did a quick Google search and there’s a top result that comes back where someone else had the same issue. He pasted the Positive Grid support response into his posting. The steps (deleting a file in a folder) were all that was needed. It worked right away for me after I did that. No reinstall or anything necessary. The sound is great! I was like “whoa! Glad I bought this!” after starting to try it out. Here's the solution text found on Google someone who had installed Positive Grid Bias Amp 2 and it just hung on start up after the install. I had this issue as well initially. I followed these steps and it immediately resolved the issue. ------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks for writing to Positive Grid support. This is a known issue we are working on, but for now, please try this workaround: Rename Documents/PositiveGrid/BIAS_AMP 2 folder 2.Delete BIAS _AMP 2.settings in: C:\Users[User_name]\AppData\Roaming\PositiveGrid\BIAS_AMP2.settings Thanks, let us know how it goes.

  10. I picked it up, because of this thread on VI https://vi-control.net/community/threads/whats-wrong-with-this-deal.86113/ No I wasn't willing to subscribe to his service for one month to get everything super cheap, but I know how hard it is to make it selling software, so I was willing to buy something. Waiting for this VST Buzz deal fit my personal ethics, still a discount but also supporting something I'd like to encourage. If you get it be sure to install the snapshot presets (see the manual for how). I played through the presets with Scalar last night and they are pretty interesting. Though to be honest I'm having a hard to seeing exactly how/what I'd use them in. But a lot of "Indie" Kontakt instruments are like that. I do think if you needed some music on a film/video this might fit the bill by itself. But if you are looking to add it to a larger work of music, that might be a bit harder. Kind of reminds me of Spitfire's British Drama Toolkit.

  11. Hm, seems, a few weeks (months?) Waves converted $29 into $29.99 deals... Small difference but now officially closer to $30 revolution than $29

  13. That looks a lot like Acon's Reverb Solo over on Reverb.com. https://reverb.com/software/effects/acon-digital/47-reverb-solo Which is why I am picking this one up right now because the other one is great! It's the first one I try out on a snare. It's so easy to use you'll know immediately if it's going to work or not...

  24. Another option if you save your exported audio so you can find it in Cakewalk's Media Browser: right-click tune, select properties, choose details, edit fields, click OK.

  25. Same here Mesh! That's the only one I was after but not at full price (less 9 GBP voucher). Actually, last night I was checking what I didn't install from Komplete 12 when I got it due to lack of hard drive space. As I recently got a 1Tb Nvme ssd for Sampletank 4 Max I now have space to install all of the rest of Komplete. So I reckon that'll keep me going for now (the Discovery Series stuff mentioned by TTF does look good so will install that first).

  29. Soemtimes you can buy the single instruments for dirt cheap and then cross grade to Complete for like $50-70 at Plugin Boutique. So that's something to look out for. The AIR Synths are pretty decent, as are the Instruments (the keyboards, at least). I guess if you need (for more than playback, like Kontakt Player or Halion Sonic SE) a Sampler Structure is usable. It has decent 3rd party library support (EXS, REX, etc.). BOOM is okay for $4.99, but I think you can do the same stuff in Strike, IIRC (Boom is just dead simple and easier to work with)...

  31. @Joe Dun thanks for your feedback. Simplifying the program while retaining behavior for professional use can be a complex endeavour to do properly. We are committed to improving in this area and the Lens feature was a step in this direction. In the next update we are making this much more discoverable and have added it to the first run onboarding to allow users to pick a preset that best matches their requirements. In the future we plan on going even further with this so please keep the suggestions coming!

  40. They did ship version 1.0.5 and they are working with us I guess. I've been sending emails back and forth, 2 or 3 cycles a week pretty much. But from other posts on VI I'm not really sure anyone is happy with it on a PC. To be honest I'm not sure I believe it's working that well on a Mac, given how it works on the PC, but I haven't seen Mac users complaining. I'm half-tempted to buy a copy of Logic and stick it on the headless MacMini in my office I use as a compile box and just see how it runs, but that Mac really isn't what I'd call close to modern or reasonable for a DAW. As long as you can survive crazy high settings on preload and streaming buffer (ie you have a ton of physical ram) 1.0.5 will mostly playback OK. It's scary how much better EastWest Hollywood Orchestra is as far as resources/load times/and playback. And I always thought it was awful in those areas. Good news is they still haven't quite yet given up. But I'm not sure they are really getting serious either, I would have sent out custom instrumented builds by this point to people like me and maybe connected in to look at it in person.

  41. Not sure why I don't. (Just sharing this here to say its not everyone; I have no idea why. Could be any of a number of reasons. Probably not worth trying to determine.)

  42. I actually understood that. I vote that I was also (trying and obviously failing) to be funny, as the movie genre is "film noir" and not "filme noire" 😎 When Noire came out I posted in VI:Control that I was going to ask NI if I could just buy the "e" because I already owned "Noir." But I stand by my original statement that "Noire" is very noice. It's one of my very favorite virtual instruments that NI has come out with over the last few years, along with Massive X and Middle Eastern Discovery. But I'm looking forward to picking up "Picked Acoustic." Anybody else buying separate NI libraries because they suspect the next Komplete will be subscription?

  43. iZotope's Radius is also the underlying algorithm in some other programs. I believe that was originally a product that ended up getting more royalty fees from being licensed as an algorithm (Cakewalk, Adobe, etc.). I am not sure of the details to that one, but one thing that does come to mind is that I am not sure if all of the parameters (transient sensitivity, pitch coherence, phase coherence, etc. on the bottom of that page) are exposed in SONAR/CbB? There is a nice section about best results/usage also at the bottom. RX5's version doesn't seem to have changed much. The parameters (to any algorithm) - what they do, and how they are applied - is another important factor to consider.

  45. I actually 100 percent agree with this. It's getting kinda frustrating in the timeline, to be honest. I was excited about the timeline selection when I heard about it, but, in practice, it's something I would rather just have the ability to turn off. Not a dealbreaker, obviously, but it would be nice.
