  1. @Lionel @Moon OverSea @Craig Fowler There's plenty of "I regret buying this library" on VI-C about this one. The general consensus being that it's very inconsistent across the mics/articulations, and badly scripted. I own Spitfire BBCSO and can tell just from the demos of this "London" library that it doesn't compare favourably at all. If you're new to orchestral libraries I would say save your pennies for the next Spitfire sale. If you just want to dip your toes into the world of string libraries, I would strongly recommend one of their £29 "originals" libraries such as Originals Intimate Strings (which is truly gorgeous).

  3. Came across this that was listed like it gave away Music Maker Premium, and it doesn't do that. But the code you get can be redeemed for 5 free Soundpools through the Music Maker program. Also to note, when I checked my Producer Planet account, the 5 it gave me was surprisingly the commercial royalty free license, even better. YMMV. https://winningpc.com/magix-music-maker-coupon-codes-free-key/ I know it says 24 hours only, but it still works. No idea for how long though. If you want em, I'd act now, can't loose with free.

  4. https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/ Changes in Surge XT 1.3.1 Surge XT 1.3.1 contains bugfixes to the 1.3.0 release and a continued expansion of our OSC protocol support. It also provides a broader set of choices for Linux users who want to download a binary, as opposed to self-build. Open Sound Control Consolidated all the various OSC settings into a single settings dialog Added an option to set the IP address for OSC output Added a set of messages for observing and setting modulation Improved and expandd outbound messages allowing surge to work with TouchOSC Fixed an update bug where modifying mixer solo and mute over OSC would update the engine, but not the GUI Plugin Upgraded to CLAP to 1.2.0 Implemented the CLAP preset-discovery and preset-load extensions This means DAWs like Bitwig Studio and MultitrackStudio have access to the entire set of factory, 3rd party, and user presets in the DAW and can create a track with a preset loaded Restored our build pipeline to Ubuntu 18.04 and gcc 9 with a Docker image, lowering the libc requirement Applied fixes to allow the LV2 to build in CI pipeline, although we still have better behavior in most settings with CLAP or VST3 plugins, LV2 is now back in the binary bundle again Added a suite of OBS builds for various Linux distributions - this means we have nightly and release builds for Linux aarch64, ready for your ARM devices! DSP Ensemble effect clock rate lower bound clamped to avoid underflows (sound disappearing). This will result in existing patches responding differently under modulation of this parameter Feedback summation in the Ensemble effect was incorrect, so it is fixed now. This can also result in existing patches sounding slightly differently (for the better, we would say) Fixed Sine oscillator modulation of Feedback parameter crossing zero created clicks in the output Retriggering Amp and Filter EGs with modulators now properly obeys the Envelope Retrigger Behavior option in monophonic modes (Retrigger from zero vs Continue from current level) Fixed occasional crashes in Twist oscillator related to parameter uni/bipolarity Clamped lowest frequency for Twist oscillator to 2 Hz in order to prevent CPU overloads Clamped String oscillator tuning to the length of delay line, avoiding problems with very low frequencies Fixed a bug where MIDI All Notes Off message would occasionally miss a note UI/UX Improved patch comment tooltip display (in some cases text would be cut off) Favorite and Find button in the Patch Browser are now accessible and can be focused via keyboard Ctrl+click or Ctrl+Shift+F10 in the Patch Browser will open the menu listing only user patches Text input fields in Patch Store dialog, Tuning Editor and OSC Settings dialog will not keep showing the text selection range after losing focus anymore Switched time-based display units to milliseconds when below one second Corrected left/right mouse click behavior of the Tune button in Status section Created an undo entry for parameter value typeins Tuning Editor keyboard can now play notes when clicked Fixed an off-by-one error which made the Rotation page in Tuning Editor show the wrong tone by one key Changing an effect type clears modulation again (this was a regression introduced in Surge XT 1.1) Undo changing an effect type will now restore modulation as well Swapping or moving an effect will now preserve modulation mutes Fixed MSEG editor not drawing vertical lines when time was below 0.1 phase units Fixed a crash in MSEG editor after a certain scenario when deleting nodes left the loop in invalid state Formula editor now asks if you really want to close it when clicking the X button in the title bar (previously this only worked when pressing Escape key) Formula editor debugger now shows realtime parameter updates Filter Analysis window no longer focuses Filter 1 tab button upon opening Alert dialogs now respond to Enter and Escape keys immediately, without tabbing into the dialog Infrastructure Windows installer now shows a Surge-themed banner instead of the generic default one Updated clang-format to version 17 in CI Fixed a build problem with gcc7 Added a CMake bypass for the Linux 32-bit early-fail warning Added Bluetooth permission text to the standalone, fixing a crash on macOS 13 in some cases Integrated the Superparasites firmware for Clouds/Nimbus (but not implemented yet) Added guards for LV2 headless builds Be a bit more pedantic/explicit about the in-place constructor strategy with SurgeVoice, squashing a debug-only memory leak in some MSVC debug settings, but also making the code a bit more correct CLI with OSC running will now quit properly on Linux Code Refactoring and Quality Split SurgeGUIEditor menu make/show methods to a separate file Fixed MSVC stdext::checked_array_iterator warnings Improved the time taken to rebuild the SQLite patch database used for rapid searches Added a modulation edit begin/end gesture to the modulation change listener Allowed tests to build if Lua is not available Updated code headers to reflect the year 2024 in the copyright Content New patches from John Valentine Template patches now all have balanced output level to -15 dB RMS Restored some missing Formula modulator tutorials mistakenly excluded from 1.3.0 release

  7. Hmm... Actually, I think this could be turned into a money-making venture! YOU have all the original tracks, mixes, etc. and should have no problem proving it's your song (they certainly won't!), so... Since "they" have the claim, you should be able to find out exactly who "they" are and then sue them! Not just for "lost revenue" but for damages! Especially if they're tied to a music agency. This could mean a lot of money for your lawyer you! 😁

  13. I was today years old when, after using 4 monitors for the last 14 years, found out that the combination of the WIN key and the direction arrows on my Querty keyboard will snap an open window to full screen, half screen, or quarter screen of the monitor that they are on. Always snapped them to a corner/side/full with the mouse before. Too kool. Never too old to discover a new wonder of the world, I guess.

  20. I have a colleague who uses Reaper. Because it's cheap. And then spends hundreds of dollars on Scripts by nvk, because without those scripts it's not as powerful as he would like it to be. For that money he could have bought Ableton Live in the first place. 😐

  30. It is quite possible that FUGA may be the entity directly involved in this, i.e., there is no "artist." There is certainly no shortage of questionable ethics practices that have landed corporate leaders in prison, and I would suspect a script/algorithm at play here more than an "individual." If you want to pull the thread on this one faster, I would notify YouTube that you plan on filing an FTC complaint due to past reports of FUGA and intend to have the "digital trail" examined by someone with the authority to delve into both FUGA and YouTube to find out exactly how this occurred and the mechanisms they used to achieve it with the intent of making it not happen again (to anyone). YouTube is definitely subject to US laws and infringement. I am not sure about FUGA with its EU HQ, but the question more pressing here is "How can YouTube allow an 'undisclosed entity' claim ownership of a work when the actual owner comes forward to refute that?" You at least deserve the artist's name, but if it is FUGA as a whole, that ball of yarn will unravel in short order. What you are experiencing is very similar to people who are getting their work stolen to feed AI learning.

  41. Your situation is just plain crazy and I hope you get it sorted. Just to the above comment, bear in mind that anything published to the internet can be seen by anyone. People do not even need to be members to take things not requiring a log in, so even the songs forum here can be an open market to people filching things. Without a digital trail it is hard to pursue recourse, but if you can get the name/identity of the "artist" that took it, then it is easier to focus resources toward that end. The FTC doesn't pursue "one off" situations, but if they start getting inundated with complaints against the same source, they will. It is worth reporting this once you have enough information, so that it is at least on record and can bubble up in due time if it continues to progress.

  44. What I have found is that it hangs every time if I try to move the window sliders to see the rest of the window, which in my case do not work anyway. Now that I have figured out not to even try that, the close button does seem to work after the timer has run it's course. Whatever secrets the unseen part of the pop up window holds remain a mystery to me. FWIW I think that once the message has been delivered there really should be an option to not show it again. I get that not every user is looking at the user forum all the time and may not be aware of it, but once told this, I don't see the need to be reminded of it every time the program is opened, especially as even when it is available I will not be able to install it if I wanted to without first buying a new pc.

  45. @Jesse Jost it indeed has hung Cakewalk twice! Also, as stated the splash screen positioning on my Surface tablet sits below the taskbar and the count down is not in view as well as the CLOSE button. When my band is performing live, the Surface tablet is mounted in Portrait position. Not knowing what was happening as there was no warning that this stupid splash screen was going to appear and block the usage of Cakewalk, the fix was finally to take it out of the mount, restart the Surface in Landscape position. Then I was able to see the count down and click the CLOSE button. I am sure you must see how nerve racking that was as we were starting our live performance! However, as also mentioned, when my band is performing live many times we are performing outside where there is no internet connection. So, in those cases in order to keep the pop up splash screen from happening I would need to use my cell phone as a hotspot, connect my Surface to it in order to be online. Not a good user experience. Also... I don't want my Surface to be online when we are performing so that there are no automatic updates etc that could happen which could affect Cakewalk in a live performance situation. Unless we have all been under a rock, we all know that Sonar will be available soon! That doesn't mean that we are all going to run out and immediatly adopt it. There is absolutely no reason that we should have to constantly be hit in the face with this annoying splash screen reminding us of that! Right? This is an absolutely terrible user experience. There either should be a counter that only shows this splash screen a few times and then not again or the abilty to turn off this annoying splash screen! And lastly.... You state that CbB will be available for some time? Are you stating that it will stop working at some point? If so...when? If so...is there a plan to let everyone know so that doesn't just stop working prior to a performance or recording session????? Geez!! PS.... This annoying splash screen does not give me a warm and fuzzy about purchasing a Sonar License. In fact..just the opposite.
