  1. Before you abandon KONTAKT, think about the employees of hard drive companies and their families, Fleer. Think about the children!!! Come back to KONTAKT. Do the right thing and order those additional hard drives tonight. For the children.

  2. Got a new lappie, a MacBook Air M2 16GB/512GB as a swift little companion to go with the monstrous MacBook Pro M1Max 64GB/4TB as my main axe. And Iโ€™m planning on keeping them Kontakt free, at least the little one. Yep, you heard that right. Iโ€™ll fill it up with Falcon and its UVI banks, Arturia V Collection and Pigments, Melda MSoundFactory and friends, Spitfire BBCSO and Originals, Scaler, Toontrack, AAS, Bitwig, Omnisphere, Keyscape, Kilohearts, iZotope, Eventide, SugarBytes, XLN, Pianoteq, Organteq, Zynaptiq, PSP, Valhalla, Soundtoys, Softube, Relab, Unify and the lot, maybe even throw in some EastWest but no Kontakt, no. Love this feeling. Free at last.

FREE with any Rig Library purchase, from Nov 11th to Nov 20th https://www.overloud.com/products/th-u-essentials I used to have THU Premium and really only missed a few of the amp heads but now I can buy the Friedman Naked Rig collection for @$25 at JRR and get a few heads and the Rig Player for free. Great way to get into the vortex of Rig Library if you really enjoy that sucking noise when your wallet runs dry.

  13. I honestly don't think inMusic is even trying hard to deliver. Compared to when IKM messes up with a new release, at least they try to fix it and Peter@ IK usually does his best to communicate in both directions.

  14. He posts in a forum exclusively focused on buying stuff. Anyone reading this, if you're here and you think you're trying to cut back on your spending -- which I've posted in several threads, so that's me too (as I posted that I was trying to cut back on my sample and plugin spending in a multiple threads focused on sample libraries I was considering and then bought sample libraries and plugins afterwards) -- you're lying to yourself. Just an idea, maybe our signatures should contain a count of how many sample libraries and plugins we've purchased to date per year. Of course, I'm sure sample and plugin developers would hate that idea.

  18. I bought into the full AIR instrument collection 6 years or so ago. Their marketing guy Simon later stated that new larger GUIs were under development, and he was seeking beta testers at one time. Updates that never happened. Then AIR dribbled out a few new instruments at full price, including Loom II without a scalable UI... then a few more... now it looks like inMusic have merged bits of the former AIR instrument tech into their AKAI MPC lineup. The original AIR instruments were a Pro Tools exclusive until inMusic bought them and released them as standard plugins. It seems now they have all but abandoned them, except for picking the bones for useful tech. I also bought into the AKAI VIP system about 5 years ago, including a VIP integrated keyboard controller with color LCD. It offered mouse-free workstation type control over your plugins with front panel LCD controls, including preset multis and FX. Unfortunately VIP 3 only supported VST2, and they never developed it beyond that, and then quietly dropped the VIP lineup from production. So yeah, I'm a bit cynical about inMusic now. ๐Ÿ™„

  26. Focusrite doesn't appear to be setting up MMCSS as I would expect it. I see the same on my system with the latest driver on a 6i6. The driver does not run at realtime priority (24 and above) and the driver doesn't allow us to change its priority either (the attempt fails) so there is nothing you can do to increase it. I'll get in touch with them and report it in case they are unaware of this. BTW the labels Time Critical and Realtime are just labels I put there to help with diagnosis. Time critical is the priority that our threads run at WITHOUT MMCSS enabled, which is lower than what they can go to. MMCSS priorities allow the audio engine and driver to run at much higher priorities thereby minimizing other system interference leading to audio glitches. To actually check MMCSS priorities accurately you need to use a specialized tool like Process Explorer. We can't check it easily in the application.

  27. I know, right? There are so many times people post stuff here that they think is just something they do where I am like -- wait, that's me too! Like when someone posted how much they found PluginBoutique's reminder when you already owned an item saved them a lot of money. Same here! Ah, it's so nice to be around my fellow enablers that normalize my sample and plugin hoarding. Also, I miss Larry. I can only imagine how very difficult this time is for Fleer. #PrayForFleer

  29. It's so nice to know that I'm not the only one in love with Wurlis. It's an overshare and I'll delete it (so I am asking people to please not quote this post-- also because it's way too much personal info), but I grew up the son of a music teacher who worked for the Wurlitzer company and we owned a Wurli when I was a kid and I was in love with it. My three siblings and I had a family band that played around Chicago that included a Wurli when we were kids. While piano was my first instrument, I was the youngest of 4 kids and my two sisters were both incredibly more experienced and talented keyboardists and decided I should play drums. So I didn't play the Wurli in our band, but I played it solo all the time for fun and writing original songs as a kid. Unfortunately, my three siblings all passed on young, and I suppose this instrument has these very deep psychological connections for me that go beyond logic. I have accumulated a bunch of Wurli libraries -- I have at least 8 that I can think of, most of them in KONTAKT format, and the SoundPaint one I later regretted buying (even though it was cheap, here I am only several weeks later ready to buy another Wurli library). Researching the Wurli trademarks for AcousticSamples after some con artist was trying to extort him falsely claiming they owned the Wurli trademark was actually pretty fascinating to me, and, in some ways, a trip down memory lane.

  35. Exactly. You know, it's been a while, but yeah, as I recall, they didn't respond to my official support tickets so I made numerous forum posts and finally got a response in a public forum and then saw that someone with the identical issues posted about them several months prior to my experience and they gave that person the identical response they gave me that they would soon have the problems resolved, which of course, made it clear to me that they were not working at a reasonable pace. I would say that their lack of reasonable, timely support is at the point where I don't find them even a respectable software developer. Their brand has what we call in the industry a negative brand image with me. When I see InMusic owns a software company, I generally will run or won't buy it without A LOT of forum users posting that it's working on Windows 10 and a machine similar to mine. I own BFD Eco and they've offered the upgrade to BFD3 for Eco users for $49USD for at least a couple years now and when I've posted about contemplating it, I see responses from people who don't own it stating things like, "It's 50 bucks for a some really nice drum libraries, just buy it!" But if it is anything like the year I spent after installing one of their AIR plugins on my computer that took me two days and roll back or reinstallation of Windows (it's been a while, that was a year and a half ago) to work again, that kind of pain isn't worth it. I can say without hesitation that InMusic is not a company I want to work with again. Terrible. About as bad as it gets for a well known brand in this business.

  36. Same. Some of their products installed an ancient version of iLok which made Windows BSOD on launch. I had to fix it by going into terminal and manually deleting the file. I got a refund from the store, but the responsible InMusic brands never responded to my email.

  39. I got roped into VIP. Thankfully my Alesis VX49 ended up being a decent controller. I don't use VIP at all. I find that Arturia's sust and Komplete do a better job with instruments I actually use. I use my Air plugins, particularly when using MPC, but wouldn't actually buy any of them aside from Loom II though.
