  2. Weird. If I go to the link, I see it is free with purchase. When I log in and try to get it free with SubLab for $10, the price is $49. Guess I will send PB a note. <edit> Not purchased from PB in a long time. Not getting the "claim free gift" button at all. <edit edit> Well... THIS is embarrassing. I already had it in my account from a past freebie. At least I don't think I am alone in having this happen among y'all.

  4. Thanks to some tests from @David Baay I have isolated the issue that causes the UI to be unresponsive after stopping when there are hundreds of tracks with certain prochannel modules. It is fixed it for the upcoming release. The issue is easily reproducible if you have 200 tracks containing the console emulator. The reason for the delay on stop is because the console emulator ends up blocking the user interface under certain conditions. I have worked around the plugin issue in our code. Edit: This fix is included in the 2022.09 official release.

  5. Testing it now with pads and bass synth. AMAZING analog flavor, vibey goodness, electric juiciness, spring-time lower body fatness an all the adjectives in the world cannot describe how this thing sounds. I recommend it.

  9. If the internet is gone permanently, I think you will have far worse problems than not being able to use your DAW You can authorize cakewalk via the offline auth mechanism but yes that requires at least a remote internet connection somewhere. Pretty much most software today is tied to some sort of activation mechanism, its just how the industry has evolved.

  10. That's what I really like of CbB (and Sonar), it's the workflow and the interface! 😉

  11. For me any product its actually more than the sum of its features, but its workflow. If a product has a million features but the workflow doesn't suit me, I don't use it. Time is too short to waste on things that aren't intuitive to you.

  15. Don't forget to try the codes FORUM and GROUP just in case they work to give a little more discount at JRR. I went straight from SSL just in case there was any wait in receiving the serial/redeem code from JJR.

  17. Great choice. That's a handy plugin to have in the toolkit. Sometimes it helps the bass sit just right 🙂

  18. I have wondered that if I snatch freebies all the time they may stop sending them to me too! 🤣 I was pretty close to picking up some in the $24.99 range as there are some quite decent ones in there: Lindell Audio 354E NEOLD BIG AL Unfiltered Audio Zip To name a few. But all depends on what sort of music you're into and what you have already etc. It's probably not too bad not getting their emails.. at least on here you're more likely to just see the ones that matter!

  19. Thanks. I don't receive PA's emails anymore for some reason. I have tried resubscribing to no avail. I wonder if I have upset them somehow? "No vouchers for you!" Anyhow, looks like there isn't anything interesting in the "any plugin for $29" pile so I'll just get one of the amps for free.

  21. Thanks for using Cakewalk software. It has grown by leaps and bounds over the last 4 years and is more stable and performant than it has ever been. In general, if any DAW meets your workflow and needs there is no need to keep endlessly looking elsewhere because you will waste more time learning new tools. And believe me when I say this - every product has flaws and bugs despite what you might hear from anyone else We're also working on something exciting that will be announced relatively soon so at minimum hold out until then 😛

  23. Same here regarding Have Audio instruments. I have been considering them for a couple of years, but never pulled the trigger until today (it took one favorable recommendations from Fleer; man am I a sucker for strings). I couldn't resist at $33.80 USD. But I still want either their Nordic Cello or the Sonixenima Solo Cello. To be very candid, I don't even have enough hard drive space for this library, so it's time to buy another hard drive.

  24. I've been very intrigued by this and other HAVE Audio instruments, but even when they were very discounted last BF, I didn't pull the trigger on any of them. I went for the entire solo Untamed Strings set at Westwood Instruments instead. Their approach is more to my liking. The new Evolution series instruments are designed in a similar way. The HAVE stuff is probably great, but you can't HAVE everything.

  30. If your Drag and Drop mode is Blend Old and New, you can just drag one set of MIDI clips into the other track, right click, and choose Bounce to Clip(s) (hold shift to constrain to a verticle drag to preseve the timing). A safer way in case your Drag and Drop mode is not Blend would be to show lanes in one of the tracks, add a lane, drag the clips from the other track into that lane, and then bounce to clip(s) and delete the empty lane. Personally I often keep separate 'voice' lines of the same instrument in separate lanes of the track just for clarity and flexibility in selection and editing.

  31. Yes, exporting Entire Mix wil include rendering soft synth output with all relevant track and bus FX and mix settings applied just like audio tracks. There is no need to freeze in advance. Incidentally, I recommend exporting with Source = Buses, and exporting just the Master bus. This avoids including any signals that might be routed to other ouputs on your interface (like a headphone mix or external insert output). Entire Mix merges all hardware outputs.

  32. I picked it up on this sale and had my first round with it this last weekend. I heard in one dated YT review that they were a Battery user and preferred this. From my first light experimentation the sounds are definitely good for their throwback category. I figured out how to sync it with my DAW (Studio One), to adjust patterns, to pick sounds and to drag and drop the Midi. Synching wasn’t a button but placing a dedicated Midi note on the timeline. I have Battery but I’m not even a mild user of it. I can’t compare them. I can say I made a loop with Beatbox Anthology 2, I like the loop, it was easy to do and for the price it seems like a good buy and a quality addition to my sound possibilities. I’ll be using it I think rather than filing it in the drawer. Still lots more to experiment with. Maybe too much. But it’s pretty intuitive.

  34. And they were absolutely correct to take that attitude. When a vendor advertises that its software is compatible with another vendor's software, they are publicly committing themselves to making sure that it is and will remain a true statement. Cakewalk - like every other DAW vendor - has in the past had to modify its own code post-release after it was shown to cause an incompatibility with some popular third-party plugin. Within the software industry, version compatibility is a big deal, as any programmer who's worked in a corporate team environment can attest. Woe to the poor coder who breaks compatibility between modules within their own product and incurs the wrath of and is ridiculed by the entire department. (At least, when the change hadn't first been demanded by Marketing). That said, I much prefer Cakewalk's development philosophy. A small team that moves fast, doesn't make users pay for or wait for bug fixes. And most important, doesn't intentionally break backward compatibility to squeeze a few more bucks out of their customers. True fact: most if not all of Cakewalk's beta testers are iZotope users. If Ozone stops working with any new version of Cakewalk, you'll know about it pretty quickly, and in most cases a fix will have been implemented before its formal release. iZotope should simply add another list, DAWs that it reportedly works with but that they haven't tested themselves. Some vendors do that already, for good reason. Why discourage any segment of your market from buying your stuff?

  36. The essential tune is quite nice. I like the vocals and the groove. As others have mentioned, there is some tweaking needed to take care of some out of time rhythms. Is it possible that you have a long delay set on a percussion part? Please repost when you get that dialed! -Eric
