  4. Me too. Since PA 7. I just know it so good. I have the latest version of S1 and Reaper, a d will upgrade both. But I just really dabble with them when I really want to do something, it's always CwbB

  5. Yep I know this is cheating ( using loops created by others ) Sometimes have to have a break from playing guitars though. Bandlab loops & one shots. EDIT>>>>>> I should credit the girl who made the loops & one shots I used her name is "I am A Snow Angel" https://hearthis.at/riff-richards/is-this-a-dream/

  10. Looking at the past release dates, it's been at least two years between major version numbers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studio_One_(software) 1.0.0: Sep. 2009 2.0.0: Oct. 2011 3.0.0: May 2015 4.0.0: May 2018 5.0.0: July 2020 6.0.0: Sep. 2022 If you buy certain hardware, you have an option of choosing between Studio One Artist and a certain number of months of Sphere subscription. Looks like there was a 30% sale on Sphere before. https://rekkerd.org/presonus-sphere-studio-one-professional-notion-sale/

  12. Well, actually Reaper had lots of Pan features and I seldom used them. Lyric tracks are a PITA to setup and sync with your project so in my case I am better off just printing the full lyrics. De-Esser... well I have a lot of good de-essers 🤪. Fader Flip looks like a nice addition but I don't think that in my case justify the upgrade. Maybe it is because I do this just as a hobby and not for living...

  13. After reading what's new I can't find a reason for upgrade. Really, I think this should have been a .5 update at most. Yeah, I know that 5.5 plus a .5 update equals 7, but the new features doesn't look enough for a version jump. Now thinking in returning to Reaper. Still good with my license purchased on 2016 and valid until the current version. I am getting tired of these greedy companies.

  15. https://www.blender.org/ If you're interested in visual arts of any kind, you'll find something to delight your artistic brain in Blender. You can design an interesting album cover, visualize your song with illustrations reacting to audio levels, make a lyric video, or create a full-blown animated music video using only Blender. UI has been redesigned in version 3 for a better user experience. It might look daunting at first, but it's like DAWs, you only use the features you need in a project. I recommend getting started with the famous Donut tutorial by Blender Guru.

  16. Here I was talking shzz about PA having nothing I wanted and now I done bought something from them twice in the last three days!! Been looking at that Amek console strip. Got that for $15 the other day. I love Lindell plugins, so I was able to grab that API 50 Series for $15 today!!! Damn... they pretty good with the marketing at the moment!!!

  18. Another vote for BX Opto as well. Highly underrated compressor and I'm sure if they released it with a flashy GUI then people would rave about it. Can be super transparent and sounds great. Bass Mint would be the other choice. Quite versatile for shaping bass and has some nice options for saturation, synthesis, harmonics, etc. I didn't rate delay 2500, but I might give it another shot at some stage. The other two options I mentioned are way better though.

  26. I second this: $50 is a steal. For $35?... 8Dio seems to be a polarizing developer, but their flash sales and uber-deals helped me get started with all this midi nonsense and so I have a soft-spot for them. I picked up Anthology Strings pretty early in my library buying days, and since then I've added a lot of great string libaries to my collection, including Cinesamples, Sonokinetic, Orchestral Tools, Spitfire, Musical Sampling, Project SAM, EastWest etc and I use them all quite a bit (well, except for EastWest). But years later I still have Anthology Strings in my template because there is a certain vibe to their patches that I just don't get with other libraries. Not all their patches -- the shorts don't really thrill me (although they are quite useable), and the trems, marcatos and pizzicatos are decent but not spectacular. But to my ears, their legato patches are killer if you want angst and over-the-top schmaltz. Over-the-top schmaltz is kind of what I do, so I rarely finish an orchestral project that doesn't use the Anthology legatos in some capacity. It's not a subtle library, and it's got some age spots, etc. Blending them with other libraries isn't too difficult, although some libraries blend with Anthology easier than others, and it takes a bit of tweaking. But it's a full-throttle set of strings that you can do a LOT with, for the cost of a half-tank of gas. As noted: full Kontakt only.

  28. THIS LIBRARY IS AN AMAZING DEAL AT $50 USD. IF YOU'VE NEVER BOUGHT ANYTHING FROM 8DIO, YOU CAN USE MY REFERRAL LINK TO GET IT FOR $35 USD. 8Dio's Anthology Strings library for $50 USD is an amazing deal, even beating Black Friday pricing. This is a library that originally sold for $699 USD and the best sale on it that I recall was for around $150 USD. There's nothing anything like this going for $50USD or even a few times the price. While I have pretty vocal in sharing my disappointment with the scripting on 8Dio's solo string libraries (I think Intimate Solo Strings and Deep Solo Viola and Deep Solo Cello could be scripted to be a lot more playable; it's not that there are problems with the script, it's just that they could have made much more intuitive scripts for those libraries) , I really like their Agitato Sordino Strings and Ostinato Strings libraries a lot and would recommend them. But for 50 bucks, it goes into no-brainer territory, because you simply can't find any string libraries of this quality for even 4 times the price. If you've never purchased anything from 8Dio before, you can use my referral link to get an additional $15 USD off, so you can pick this up for $35 USD using the below link (I'll get a $15 USD credit). http://8diocom.refr.cc/peterd Here's a review/comparison of the library by the most honest and thorough YouTuber reviewer that I know of, Cory Pelizzari. Corey's excellent. A very trustworthy musician giving honest and thorough reviews who is very candid in sharing strengths and weaknesses of the libraries he looks at. Unlike 99% of the YouTubers doing "reviews" he's not merely a shill salesmen for libraries. He can be brutal when a library has issues -- and you know after doing that, the developer of that library or plugin will no longer be sending him future freebies or offering payment for "reviews" and promoting their products.

  29. The coolest thing about the lyric track is that you can navigate to any point in the project by just selecting a phrase. I also like that you can de-clutter the workspace, depending on what activity you want to perform.

  30. New Pan features (Dual Pan is the best addition IMO) Lyric Track Expanded Fader view Fader Flip De-Esser These are worth the $114.21 I paid for the upgrade YMMV. Reaper is a very nice DAW too. I use it occasionally but Studio One fits my workflow needs a little better.

  33. I would say no personally. I do own it, but it doesn't see much use. The bx_digital V3 on the other hand I love and would always use that EQ in preference. I guess if I didn't have that, then the Hybrid might be OK, but I'd rate that Opto compressor higher out of my other compressors than what I would BX Hybrid in all my EQs.

  39. Oddly enough I can't find any discernable differences in graphic quality between Kontakt 6 and Kontakt Player 7. See the attached image below. Where are the much touted graphic improvements? Interesting that my libraries requiring full Kontakt are loading just fine into Kontakt Player 7. Kontakt 6 vs. 7.tif

  40. The current project sample rate is determined one of two ways. If there are audio clips in the project, the sample rate is read from one of the audio clip file headers. All audio clips in a project have the same sample rate. If there are no audio clips in the project, the sample rate is read from the "Sample Rate" setting under "Default Settings for New Projects" in Preferences > Audio > Driver Settings The transport module shows the current project's sample rate and the Record Bit Depth that will be used the next time some audio is recorded. See the answer to 1 for where the sample rate comes from. They don't have to match but it may make things easier if they are set the same. Windows may be set to 44.1 or the DAW to 48 take your pick. There is practically no difference between the two. As noted in the reply to 1, in projects that have no audio clips the sample rate is read from preferences every time the projects are opened. In projects that have no audio clips, the Render Bit Depth is what matters as it serves as the default in the export dialog, however; the actual bit depth used may be set in the export dialog. What bit depth should be used for export depends on how the export file will be used. If the export file is for playback only, select a bit depth compatible with the playback device(s). If the export file is going to be processed further (mastering?) use 32bit (or 64bit if the 64-bit Double Precision Engine is enabled and the mastering software can load the file). The current export dialog allows users to create tasks to export. Think of these tasks as the templates you need for projects going forward and update your custom project templates. Similar tasks may be added to existing projects too.

  41. It's a longstanding and frequently lamented limitation of External Insert that each instance takes a stereo pair of outputs. You'll need to use one side of two pairs of outputs.
