  1. Mentioned Riffstation Pro in the deCoda thread, but thought it might need a topic of its own. Old news perhaps, but it's been a few years... No longer maintained, but appears to still work. YMMV. Edit: Here's the download link that works > https://www.filehorse.com/download-riffstation/

  2. The Riffstation online help file no longer seems to be available, but not really a big deal, because it has is a mostly intuitive GUI. Here is a short video overview of the features:

  3. Hmmmm...... you could be onto something there..... He may have resisted this time, but if (just thinking aloud here....) a certain person from a certain company were to post a thread to suggest that they are looking into making all of their software completely free but only for people who have no paid products in their account I reckon he'd be back pretty sharpish.... Obviously it's not for me to say what company that might be, but I Know that you all do.

  4. Oops, yeah, I meant the recently departed Alan White (I've been a Yes fan since I was a kid and Alan was also Yes' drummer besides doing a lot of studio work back in the 70s when he played with Lennon on songs like Imagine and Instant Karma). As far as using a famous artist's face and playing off his name, legally it violates international law intellectual property rights. It's why you find respected sample developers don't use an artist's name or likeness without their express permission. This is international intellectual property rights 101 and applies in just about every nation around the globe with the exception of North Korea. Years ago, ReFX found this out the hard way and was served with a C&D notice from Roland for using one of their brand names, I think it was Juno. I gave Michael Kleps, the founder, some advice on how to go forward and helped him rename the product. Very simply, consider that a celebrity's name is protected from being used for commercial use without their express permission. You can't legally call your product John Bonham Drums or John Lennon Guitar without a legal agreement with the artist -- or their estate, in the examples I just gave. I see this developer and his other business, regularly infringes on intellectual property rights and his copy about sampling commercial albums should be of serious concern, as you can't do that legally without licensing it. And that's really basic stuff anyone in the business should know. The site's copy literally states they sampled beats from old commercial record albums. Someone owns those rights and you can't legally record them and sell it, and if you buy those samples and use them in your music -- let's say you end up with a hit song. The owners of that recording your sample came from, say the record company and artist, have a slam dunk lawsuit against you, and you can expect that you're either going to be turning over alot or all of the money you made on that song to them. I'd share some stories, but I have an NDA stopping me from sharing a really great one. But it's as straightforward as what I explained.

  5. It's all good. I am also a bit sketchy of 3rd party file download sites. But I didn't want to post any recommendations that might be risky. So I matched up the downloaded file from Filehorse with the file that I archived over 4 years ago, and the file hash is a match up. That means that current Filehorse download file is an exact bit for bit duplicate of the original file that I had archived. Then, just to double check, I sent the file hash to VirusTotal, where 66 antivirus engines agree it is all clean>>> https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/dfb160aa56b14d6ff5b3ba5ab6d7ca33137444886b67a02ddbe0dba3888ae676/detection

  6. I loooove the sound of the Wurlitzer electric piano AKA the Wurli. My mother was a musician and music teacher who worked for Wurlitzer and we had one in our music room growing up and I absolutely loved it -- and still love the sound of it today. Consequently, I own several Wurlitzer sample libraries and had to download this freebie when I came across it on Pianobook. Its creator calls it the WörliTzer. What I found is that the musician who sampled it did a really good job and there are several very nice presets. Even better, for folks who don't own KONTAKT and those on a tight budget, the library is formatted for the free Decent Sampler. So everyone can enjoy this. https://www.pianobook.co.uk/packs/wrlitzer/

  8. 71% off bundles, and up to 50% off single instruments. The bundle price will be adjusted based on what you already own, so there will be no paying twice for the same library, which is rather a nice touch. Info is here: https://www.sonokinetic.net/sale Ends in two weeks.

  11. Don't forget to kill the FX sends on the AD2 mixer, and then switch to the AD2 Edit tab and kill all of the master processing. Not much you can do with anything baked into the actual samples though...

  13. Given how unusual a problem this is, I would guess something is going on with permisisons or antivirus on your system preventing the Windows registry from being modified or something. Nudge settings are also saved in the registry. Check if changes to Nudge values will persist. Also, maybe export your shortcut to a file and share it here to see if there might be some corruption that can be replicated on another machine. I have a 'test mule' installation on a laptop that I can freely experiment with.

  16. For everyone complaining about the lack of content releases, is there something you are looking for in particular, or do you just want shiny new things? Most of the rock stuff I do sounds fine with Fairfax. Sometimes I'll do stuff that might be called Neo-Soul, and for that it's Kontakt's Abbey Road 60s. For electronic stuff I use Battery or RMV. It's crazy, but there's a 20 year old library from Wizoo I still use for chillout things. I can't say I've felt the need for more drum packages.

  22. I really don't understand people complaining that vst instruments/plugins are not updated all the time! I am glad if plugins are stable and do their job perfectly! On the contrary there are some developers that I have marked red, because I feel that their newest updates just bring instability, performance issues and permanent update chore. And there are more and more that get on my list! 😆 For them I prefer definitely to stay on older versions!

  27. Yeah, I forgot about that library . It does sound very good and of course, it was produced by a legend. It's definitely worthy of picking up in a future sale.

  28. I completely understand this. I'm not suggesting anyone do it, but theoretically how would someone doing this be found out? If it's really distinctive, someone might recognise it, but I would have thought e.g. most snare samples sound fairly generic. Or does it get picked up by copyright detection technology?

  29. First, that's a really good song, is that you? If so, job well done. The drums sound really good in this context.

  31. As far as I can tell, none of this applies to XLN Audio. XLN has released VST3 versions of their plugins, and often issues patches. I don't use a Mac, so cannot comment on compatibility with Mac, but I do understand that many developers have had to provide resources to resolve issues created by Apple at the expense of other projects.

  32. Oh snap, I just realized that I've mistaken Screensets for Workspaces. My bad. Until now I haven't used Workspaces even a single time. Thanks for the info though.

  33. Yes, with a project loaded, go up to the Workspaces dropdown in the top right of the screen, then choose Manage Workspaces, and in the dialogue box that pops up, you can select which options get applied or not.

  36. Word. I think it was NI that really p!$$ed me off w/ Battery, when they removed a major feature from Battery 4 - didn't make the feature better, but just straight up removed it. I don't remember what that feature was now, I just remember it really making me mad and seeing on the forums that many shared that anger

  37. I'm not suggesting they come out with Addictive Drums 3. Addictive Drums 2 is fine the way it is, IMHO. I'm talking about content. I believe the last drum set was the Mallets. My memory is they came out in 2016. And not a single MIDI pak since then AFAIK. How are Addictive Drums fans supposed to get excited about sale after sale after sale when they bought everything a long time ago? My point is that when the competition is bringing out a flood of new content and you sit on your *****... you are going to get left behind. Because when new buyers are making a choice of drum programs--they can count. They can see the page of content at Toontrack. And that makes me sad because I think Addictive Drums is terrific. If Max Martin is a co-owner, why doesn't he curate a new drum set and MIDI pak for them?

  38. We do speak to each other regularly. That FAQ says nothing about iRig 2. It specifically states "Most iRig units with a USB port are Windows/PC compatible" and iRig 2 does not have a USB port it is an analog unit that connects via TRRS connection into a combo input/output headphone jack. Hence the very low price...

  40. Sometimes KORG is just weird like that. My main point for linking that post here is that there was some discussion in that thread as to why some folks couldn't see any downloads, and that may be due to the version of the collection owned. Perhaps some info in that thread could assist @Colin Nichollswith his concern above.

  42. Well now that you mention it....... I have decided that I'm going to take a break from attention seeking because I'm fed up with all the attention and also the lack of it. I'm going to spend my time off making a series of videos on how not to seek attention and will post them on a day by day basis as soon as they are finished. Unfortunately none of you non attention payers will ever see them, but that is your loss. I don't need the attention of people who are not paying attention. I'm only interested in people who are paying attention and to those people I would like to say...........just leave me alone will you ?
