  2. IKM sold us a Full v1.1.3 product which became a custon Shop in the next update. A total lack of respect for the client which are expressed in this lengthy post, I hope that the representative of IKM of this forum will yield information of the dissatisfaction of the users, their managers to be aware of the very bad reputation they are doing, what of IKM is a total lack of business integrity to the customer.

  3. It's a business practice that helps clear out the clutter. Just uninstalled Mododrum (got in on group buy) . IK clearly aiming at casuals when you open an instrument and you're greeted with locked features that require additional purchase. Last thing I want to see when I own a product and working on deadline is to open / click on something and see "you don't own this feature", or see download timelocks on shit I need to install. Uninstalled Amplitube for this reason as well. Always feel bad for the engineers - who likely spend 1000s of hours making these products, only for some execs to turn it into a arcade game. Speaking of games, IK should make one. They got the business practices down pat.

  5. Updates for all plug-ins We have just released minor updates for all FabFilter plug-ins on macOS and Windows with various bug fixes, and we recommend everyone to update to these latest plug-in versions. See the release notes for a full list of changes. https://www.fabfilter.com/download Fixed graphical glitches (e.g. in real-time analyzer displays), which could occur when using an NVIDIA graphics card in an older Mac. Fixed an issue where interface animations could become choppy when using monitors with very high refresh rates on Windows (e.g. 240 Hz). Pro-Q: Fixed a crash which could occur when Cmd/Ctrl+clicking the Q value in the parameter value display of a curve, while the piano scale is visible. Timeless 3: Fixed missing modulation visualization in the filter display (accidentally disabled in the previous minor update). Timeless 3: Fixed a possible crash when dragging the main tap in the delay display, while Feedback Pan was set all the way to -1 or 1. Volcano 3: The mouse wheel now works correctly with curves using the Band Pass shape, changing the slope of the filter. Minor bug fixes.

  6. As I'm saving up for some hardware and a new car, I will pass on this. Which also means I won't be using my 75 voucher this month (and probably for the rest of the year, a car is expensive, almost as expensive as new gear haha). Perhaps it is not really useful to someone now with this sale, but you can PM me for the code. First come first serve. Edit: code is gone. Until next month 👋

  8. Not sure what kind of a nudge you are looking for ... but my thoughts... Are you buying it, just because it's a good deal, or because you need it, and would use it and it would improve your work flow? Is there something else (physical instrument, virtual instrument) that would fill a gap, and you have a specific project for it? Is there something else that you need, that saving that money would get you closer to being able to buy? These are questions I started asking myself in the last year, as I've bought way too much that I "thought" I would use, or "thought" was cool, and it's not being used. I also started saving that money, and have bought a couple physical synths, that have been fun to work with and keep me away from just sitting at the computer. Just some of my thoughts, Im sure others will help you as well.

  17. Cherry Audio is delighted to announce the release of its latest effects plugins, the Rackmode Signal Processors. Rackmode is a bundle of seven virtual effects and an instrument plugin that replicate the classic rack-mounted Moog Signal Processors of the 1970s and ‘80s. This exclusive collection is the first time this entire line of renowned analog treasures has been recreated as virtual effects. The eight Rackmode Signal Processor plugins include: Rackmode Vocoder (instrument and effects versions) Rackmode Phaser Rackmode Ring Modulator Rackmode String Filter Rackmode Frequency Shifter Rackmode Graphic EQ Rackmode Parametric EQ Rackmode also marks our latest collaboration with award-winning synth designer and DSP legend Mark Barton (MRB), who modeled the circuit-precise emulations based on the original rack-mounted hardware. If tracked down and purchased today, the original hardware would cost well over $20,000. Cherry Audio is introducing the entire Rackmode Signal Processors bundle at an unheard-of price of $99, less than $13 per plugin! Rackmode Signal Processors is available now at cherryaudio.com and authorized resellers worldwide. 20. It's $500 Shipped brand new....and they are selling used for between 5 and 6 hundred...so that's a pretty good indicator of value retention, and resale potential - at $500 it would probably resell relatively quick to get my money back if it didn't "pan out" (see what I did there? )

  25. So I uninstalled MODO Drum 1.5, because it couldn't locate my already paid for (TS MAX 2) full MODO Drums content that I had installed on a secondary SSD drive. Then I used the old full installer for MODO Drum 1.1.3 (available in my account, past releases, 6.4GB), and it put all of my old kits back in place unlocked. No need to download the original kits individually.

  27. Yeah, Sand 4 is potentially slightly better sounding but a real resource hog so on my computers not something I'd use across a mix like I can do with the PA strips. And as cool as the UI is for Sand4, I also tend to think it isn't as user friendly for making adjustments quickly. (and also agree that I personally prefer other bus comps to the G-related Townhouse, though I tend to use it on some mixes depending on the sources/style and with speed constraints as it is really really easy to setup quickly.

  30. I also prefer the 9000J. Have the 4000E and it rarely gets used. I just like having it in the tool box for comparison as I think everyone should be familiar with it. If you are looking for a glue bus compressor function only then yes, I'd prefer the Townhouse for that function. PA has quite a few good bus compressor types in this sale, I'd demo to see what you prefer.

  32. When I tested all the SSLs I preferred that one. The others weren't bad and I might pick up the E, or G at some stage, but not feeling a need yet. I've got a few SSL G style compressors etc, including Townhouse Buss Compressor from PA which does that OK too.

  35. My bad, I misunderstood what you were saying in the video Simeon. I agree that the number of parameters displayed can be a bit disconcerting! I think it probably needs a way to filter what's displayed; maybe something that's already on Shane's big list of possible changes. I will be interested to see what you come up with on Synchron Player. First of all I should say that I am not keen on symbolic links so I avoid using them where possible. For Kontakt libraries, I have taken to only Unifying Kontakt Player libraries to share (the ones with a graphic on the left hand side that work in the free Kontakt Player). If it's for your own use then non-Player libraries will also work fine. NI made some changes to Kontakt 6 last year, where you can add a path to the location of your non-Player libraries. Despite this, it is still possible to create a Unified non-Player library which doesn't work on someone else's machine. I expand on it a bit more in this thread if you haven't already seen it --> https://forums.pluginguru.com/unify-patchbook/unified-pluginguru-kontakt-megamagic-pads/ I look forward to seeing your results 👍🏻 It's definitely worth looking into Simeon, especially for libraries with more than, say, 50 presets. It can seem a little daunting at first, and it probably helps to have some coding experience or appreciation of the concepts, but persevere and you will reap the benefits. Give me a shout if you need any more help with it. There are also certain things which are easier and faster to do using Shane's batch tools.

  36. I was also surprised by this. I'm fully aware of the sounds from the Sampler/Synth being limited time to download. I really thought the MODO products would be "self contained" especially since the marketing suggests they take up a much smaller footprint that other Drum VSTs. You would think with all the trash talk about this practice (and overall pricing structure) IKM would cave and just provide no time duration on this stuff. Realistically how many people are abusing the downloads in a year with products with libraries this large? The last thing I want to be doing is downloading this stuff again, unless I legitimately need to.

  41. Okay, here is THE MOSQUITO COAST. I did a lot of things to address the technical issues people had here with the DESPERATELY video. Let me know what you think. In general I'm still figuring out what it will be. I'm less focused on it being a performance where I don't stop talking. I don't think anybody but me cares about it. Using pictures allowed me to do a lot of editing on this. There's even a bit of Elysion at the end.

  43. 1. I believe the UI is the same. (You can't hide the 3 new locked kits.) 2. I didn't have to download the content again, it was a 1.89 GB file (MODO_DRUM_1_5_0.zip). The 1.1.3 file is 6.38 GB.

  44. I have used it. It's "cool" if you use a lot of console/vintage processor emulating software as part of typical workflow. Our desire to make things look like vintage gear has lead to a lot if great software using knob visual controls that are awkward in a mouse world. Being able to physically turn knobs when using plugins like Bettermaker EQ is far more intuitive in matching what your eyes see and brain processes. If you use a lot of these type plugins and you actually make money doing this, it pays for itself in time saved. On the other hand, if your workflow uses plugins not based on knobs this becomes a "cool" piece of redundancy. The 16 knobs on my minilab and the 8 knobs on my vx49 do the same thing. Admittedly the layout is not as intuitive, but not a big deal when I factor price and need vs want. I find myself using the smart focus knob on my audient interface is just as intuitive

  45. At this point I have NO IDEA what's right! I had 10 updated kits after updating to 1.5 The only ones that I didn't have were the 3 new kits Based on the above from IK's website, only the Custom Shop update is free... The whole thing is rather convoluted really, so I'm bowing out of trying to figure this mess out!
    1 point
  46. Ok...let me make this clear... If you ALREADY own Modo Drum then the upgrade to 1.5 is FREE! The FREE version is NEW and includes ONE KIT (Studio Kit) If you have MD FULL then there are 10 KITS under your "Sounds" in the IK Product Manager that you have to install, along with the 1.5 update. The SE Version gets 5 Kits - same scenario...2 old kits and the 3 New ones There are THREE COMPLETELY NEW Kits that you get when you upgrade your existing Modo Drums Full or buy or upgrade to Modo Drums SE Hopefully that resolves all of this
    1 point
  47. Assuming you mean drawing MIDI notes in the PRV, if a new note starts more than a measure later than the end of the previous one, Cakewalk will start a new clip by default. It's not a bug; it's just how it works. My guess is it's a holdover from the early days when all MIDI notes were grouped by measures, and that was the finest resolution at which you could edit. In any case, you can just select the entire track and Bounce to Clips to combine them. Or you can slip-edit the end boundary of the clip out in the Track View in advance to encompass notes that will be further out. Or you can enter notes the old-fashioned way - in real time with a MIDI controller - and each take will be a contiguous clip, not matter how long you pause between notes. I started with Cakewalk for DOS 2.0 in 1988, so yes, I'm biased. I have spent some time getting to know Studio One, and dabbled a bit in Reaper. Both took several days to get even slightly comfortable with and I had to check the documentation constantly to get the most basic things done. This is the nature of DAWs. They are way too complex to be 'intuitive'. And they all have bugs, and features that are more or less 'polished' than the equivalent feature in some other DAW.
