  1. What about a separate sub forum for "User Deals"? That would keep them from clogging "Deals" thread...and you wouldn't even have to go there if you didn't want to! And it would keep this groups sales HERE instead of at KVR, taking traffic over there... Just a thought!

  2. GForce released new patches for impOSCar2, Minimonsta and Oddity 2. They are in GForce user accounts. Click on the "View Instrument" button for each synth. The new patches are below the instrument installers.

  4. Yep, more or less the same here in Argyll & Bute. It's been averaging 10-12C during the day and no colder than 3C during the night (which isn't that much different than it was in August, give or take 5C). No sign of snow apart from on the mountains. Considering I'm around 250 miles North of Edmonton, it amazes me how different the climate is across the pond.

  8. That's a good deal @TracingArcs I received a similar email from NI with a voucher code to upgrade from K13U to K13U CE but I'm not sure it's worth it (£179) just to get the full version of the Symphony Series, Cremona Quartet, and ARKHIS (plus the useless £22 voucher and all expansions which I hardly ever use). Looks like I have until 31st December to decide but I think I will hang on for the K14U update next year.

  9. Might as well add: I was born in Montréal and I moved to Laval. I love winter as much as the other seasons. What I like most is the change of seasons here. This morning we had large slow falling snowflakes, just beautiful. So nice for a walk.

  10. I upgraded from 13 to 13 UCE. Worth it in my opinion. Once I upgraded, the air smells better, water tastes better, the temperature is warmer, and my dog became friendlier. Jesting aside, I'd jump on that deal.

  11. It is a good deal indeed. As Larry said you normally only get 50% off on these upgrades.

  12. GOT IT !! Yep £179 upgrade from K13 standard to K13U. Just in time for my birthday in a few days as well. Now to hammer my internet

  14. It's a good deal no doubt if think you'll actually use the things added. When I went from 10 to 12 Ultimate I realized there were libraries in there I would certainly use. I'm going to skip 13. I tell myself I'm not superstitious. 14 sounds like a better number to me. FYI even tough I got the drive, the NI site was in some cases faster and you then get any updates. After the holiday the NI site gets hit pretty hard with new purchases. For that reason my downloads were a bit slow. It could be advantageous to stay at least one version back to see what happens between NI and Izotope. Might not amount to much or they might offer some interesting things in the future to semi current users.

  16. No. I tried, but I have no feeling in my fingers. Perhaps this is what arpeggiators were invented for.

  17. I was goofing around this morning and I tried to match as close as possible the Softube bluesbreaker settings I used yesterday in Amplitube 5 as close as I could. In AT5 I am using the JH Gold from Hendrix collection [1] and Brit Greens which *should* be close. The original BB had Green 30watts. The Brit Greens are 25w. I uploaded the demo. Sounds nothing like it. The close mics are matched I think. I can't see room mics in AT5 that match what Softube are doing. source: IK Multimedia site.

  18. There are some "little" ones that would help me every day, in the "driving me nuts" category: A "replace effect" in the context menu like we have "replace synth." (I made this suggestion on the old forum almost 4 years ago and Noel liked it) The option to have new synths' property page automatically open when you replace another synth with them. Who doesn't want to immediately see the new synth's UI when they replace another synth? (this would also apply to #1 above) As much as I'd like having a built-in sampler (I don't know what chord tracks and VCA faders are), having these 2 would make me happier and impact my use of the program over and over in every session. I know that many people work the way I do, swapping multiple plug-ins and synths in and out looking for the one that best suits the song. Especially with creative FX like delays, I'll go through 3 or 4 of them before I find the right one.

  28. I think that's an excellent idea, Larry. I see a lot of folks here that I have more trust for then, say KVR, where I don't spend time at much anymore and people tend to come and go more.

  32. Direct sales by users are not permitted. Links to user sales on marketplaces such as KVR are permitted. Yes, but please do not post lists of products and prices on this forum. The primary focus of this forum is to alert users about deals from manufacturers and authorized resellers. So far, users have been allowed to post links to marketplaces and it has been a decent compromise. Hopefully, it can stay this way.

  33. There is a good reason for the D&A in my screen name. Evidently I was having a "senior moment", although I shall forever cling to the notion that it was a "glitch" at the SofTube website... t or, of course, Rockus & Rollus, the gods of Rock Music, were just having a little "chuckle" at my expense (again)...

  46. Not sure if you have it - but iZotope Nuetron 3 has a very good transient shaper, that's both single & multiband. There's also a very good one in Native Instruments Komplete. And worth a look is Waves 'Smack Attack' which often goes on sale for dirt cheap, and has some features many others do not (i.e. visualizer). If you use it, there's also a multi-band and full-spectrum shaper inside Cubase. Also one available for free for Ableton Live if you use it. A couple free ones: Flux's 'Bittersweet V3' Aubrun Sound's "Couture" Sleepy Time DSP's "Transient"
