  8. Use code GROOVE3 on their own website https://www.eventideaudio.com/plug-ins/spliteq/ and you get an additional 25% which makes it $74,25. I'm seriously on the fence about this one. I read and see that it is briljant and a must have. But it would be EQ number 36 and not a cheap one at that. So is it $75 more briljant than Fabfilter, Sonible or SSL?

  9. 15 years ago I almost lost everything I love (including my life) pursuing my dream of owning an independent record label,. I escaped great tragedy by a hair and a prayer. So I abandoned thousands of dollars worth of studio gear and resolved to change my life. I hadn't touched a DAW, mixing console or a sequencer since then. Those were the days of Pro tools 6, and the infamous Yamaha Motif ES series. But then the Pandemic happened and I found my self downloading (to my surprise), the full version of SONAR Platinum for FREE ! So I got myself a little 25 Key midi controller and updated the ram on my PC. Knowing that my skills were rusty and most of what I thought I knew was really outdated or obsolete. I make a few loops here and there, maybe I upload them to YouTube, maybe I don't. Sometimes the feedback I see is like WTF is this ? I laugh and shake my head. I've already done the serious music thing. So these days I'm not looking for distribution deals or anything on the serious side of music business. I've already got that T shirt and its got a few holes in it.

  10. I owe a great deal of thanks to the people who helped out along the way. Some truly great ideas which I hope I implemented properly. Thank you Eric Parsons, mark skinner, antler, Wookiee, jack c.! Here's the video of the final product: https://baselines.com/?p=6319 (I changed the audio on the mp3 file, but I couldn't upload the new audio to YouTube. This link has a player for just the new audio - I bumped the bass up a little and cut some high end)

  11. UVI World Suite 2 updated to 1.07 Changes in this version [Fix] Keyswitches in "Celtic Percussions" [Fix] Loops behavior in "Mongol Voices" folder To update, run UVI Portal or download directly from your UVI account on the UVI website. (I downloaded directly. For me, that’s quicker) Yes, it's a 32gig download - I think UFS files are like a complete virtual disk, complete with files and folders within the file. Note: If you have created Cakewalk Articulation maps for "Celtic Percussions", they will have to be edited to cater for the update. Most mappings have changed.

  14. New updates for soothe2 and spiff Please make sure that you have the latest version of the iLok License Manager installed. Download: https://ilok.com/#!license-manager We recently released updates for both soothe2 and spiff. These updates introduce loads of bug fixes and performance improvements. Here are a few to mention: soothe2 New convenience features: lock quality and delta. By locking the quality settings, perusing presets with high quality settings will not stop or jar the playback on the less performant machines. Locking the delta allows you to preview presets and listen directly to the suppression applied by each of the presets without switching back and forth between the preset menu and the delta toggle button. Improved Avid control surface mappings and idle performance in Bitwig. Also, there was a glitch in Reaper when rendering multiple regions on a track, which was fixed. spiff spiff got a few bug fixes, for example, a plug in to DAW synchronisation issue concerning latency when opening a session. As per our initial testing, both soothe2 and spiff are compatible on macOS Monterey and Windows 11. Please download the latest versions for both soothe2 and spiff from: https://oeksound.com/downloads/ Unfortunately native M1 support for new Apple Macs isn’t available quite yet. We’re working on it right now, and hope to get it out ASAP! Black Friday sale We will host a sale for Black Friday in two weeks. The prices will be the following: spiff: 99€ soothe2 full license: 139€ soothe2 upgrade license: 39€ The sale begins on Friday the 26th of November and ends on Monday the 29th of Nov https://oeksound.com/

  22. I really wanted to like their products. I got the Lite version on launch, I was really enthusiastic about the sound, but it is just too heavy to use in any projects as well as not playing well when bouncing or freezing tracks and projects. I wish them luck with what could be a really nice plugin, but I feel it needs more development.

  25. Izotope were very polite and prompt in their email to me. I cannot really fault them on their customer service. The person who wrote to me agreed that the wording was ambiguous and would pass that on to the marketing department. Hopefully next time they will word it better. So no complaints from me.

Hi @Peter - IK Multimedia I'd like to respectfully make a request for the IK team - when checking out in the IK web shop, could there be a readout of the maximum number of jam points that can be used for that transaction? I know I can open up a calculator and do [price * 0.3], but it'd be easier if it told me exactly how many points I can spend instead of telling me that I've typed in a number that's too big.

  37. I wrote them and said I was ready to buy at the price they'd been charging for so many years. They didn't write back. They could have said, sorry we have other plans, etc. and I would have been fine with it. But they didn't write back at all. I didn't like that so now I'm not buying any Soundtoys anymore. But just compare it to every other company out there. For the most part, companies have a consistency to how they price and how they handle sales. You may not like the way they do it but most don't suddenly change the rules.

  38. LOL! No, I was fully clothed. I was still working on the bathroom at that point. You can see the shims under the toilet where I was working on it. It wasn't done yet. That was one of my old fat guy shirts I wore. To give you an idea it was a 5X tall. I lost all that weight but kept some of my old T shirts to work in. It took me a while to get used to it too but there is a lock on the door and the skylight has blinds on it. That really freaks you out when you're in the shower and you can see the sky. I don't know why they put so many skylights in this house. There are 8 of them. I hate them but it's a fortune to have them removed and the ceiling and roof redone to cover the opening. It's an older fixer upper house we bought 9 years ago. I'm redoing the last room of the house now. I'd love to post pics but it kind of goes against the TOS. Not really music related. It's been my full time job since we moved here. It's taking a lot longer than planned due to illness and an accident, but I'm almost done and I'm back to almost 100% now so it's all good. 👍🏻 Edit: I forgot to mention that I put an LED light show in there also. It's really cool at night. There was a ledge on the wall where they had adjustable can lights. I removed them and it was the perfect place to hide a strip of LED lights. Maybe one day I'll take a chance and start a thread with video and pics of all I've done. Maybe record a song and put to the video so it's in line with the "TOS".

  42. Gigperformer can play back audio, and now midi, but it's easier for me to use CbB as I can align any PC messages and DMX with the backing track easily on the timeline. In Gigperformer, I often select a different rack (collection of VSTs) for a different part of song.. there might be a way, but couldn't see a simple way of keeping the same backing track playing when moving to a different rack. Gigperformer is pretty awesome, and I'd highly recommend it - it is a bit pricey though. If you have Studio One then the Show Page could be worth investigating; it looks interesting, but don't think it's quite there yet feature wise - hopefully they continue to develop it. Sadly I think John is right, Live performance is a very small niche, in a very small market! So although CbB has the potential to be an amazing live performance tool, I doubt it will be developed in that direction - hence always good to hear other peoples solutions!

  44. I've been checking out two upright piano libraries for KONTAKT on sale, cheap. Both are character pianos. They're not big libraries, but they sound nice in the demos. I searched and didn't find any posts about the LOFT PIANO, so I thought I'd post it here. But I've never bought anything from Echo Soundworks and was hoping someone here owns the Loft Piano and could give their thoughts on it. I have a few Wave Runner libraries and think they're pretty nice. Not detailed libraries, but they have a certain vibe to them and they're inexpensive. It's kind of like how I think of Past to Future libraries. They're not detailed sample libraries, but sometimes they just have a cool vibe. Wave Runner Audio: Cashmere Piano $15 USD Reg $29 "A mid-20th century upright piano recorded with cashmere between the hammers and the strings, captured with Beyerdynamic M160 ribbon microphones through Focusrite ISA pre-amps. Each sample was then run through tape and edited as a new instrument for the Cashmere Piano LoFi patch. A piano with lots of vibe, mood and character with its distinct personality highlighted with the choice of cashmere, warm ribbon mics and transparent pres." https://www.waverunneraudio.com/shop/cashmere-piano/ Echo Soundworks: Loft Piano - Direct for $19USD ($29 at ADSRSounds) The presets are really nice, especially the lo-fi presets, are pretty nice. It's quirky, not some super detailed library. https://www.echosoundworks.com/loft-piano

  45. Okay, I pulled the trigger and bought the Echo Soundworks Loft Piano (directly from the developer's website) -- I found I had an email from Halloween with a code for 31% off, so this was ridiculously cheap. I just went through all the presets, I think there are 20 or so, and this is a nice sounding upright piano with really cool presets. The code is SPOOK21 for an extra 31% bringing the cost of the piano to only $13.11 USD .
