  1. It has been stagnant and in some ways it is disappointing. Due to this frustration I have bought several others, including a significant investment in Nembrini. And yet, and yet…I STILL find myself going back to S-Gear - often. It is still a truly great amp sim IMHO and you could argue that it doesn’t need developing, much that I’d like to see that. The recent bunch of presets by the Studio Rats demonstrated its diversity and quality superbly.

  2. Launch of Kiive Audio plugins Free Warmy EP1A Tube EQ is a 1-to-1 analog modeling plug-in based on a modern take on classic pultec EQs. There is also a 25% discount on all other plugins and I share the coupon "AUDIOTOOLS" for an extra 10% discount (then we would have a 35% discount 😉). https://www.kiiveaudio.com/plugins The other plugins • The Filkchannel Strip is an analog modelled plugin based on some of the best 500 series units from vintage german gear made in the 70's. • Tape Face is an analog emulation of a classic german tape machine with a few added features to give you versatility in every mix! • The Lunchbox Amp Sim is a recreation of one of the notable british valve amps from the 1960's.

  4. I'm going to leave my money saving experience here: I'm in the US and wanted to go from K11 to K13U. Buying through NI, this was coming out to ~$330 after tax. I went to Best Service, and got the upgrade for $315 on PayPal, and then, as stated on their site, emailed support and said that I didn't want the box shipped. They sent me a refund of about $30 on shipping. I saw/used the serial from my user section on the site within minutes. Can't say whether or not they'll continue to have serials immediately available though. Result- would have cost $330 direct from NI, payed $285 total from Best Service, no extra waiting.

  7. 1. No - just non Cakewalk 32 bit plugins. 2. If it's a 32 bit Cakewalk plugin, use BitBridge otherwise use JBridge for other 32 bit plugins. The only other plugins that benefit from JBridge are the UJAM virtual guitarist plugins ( yes, I know they're 64 bit, but they work much better in Cakewalk via JBridge ).

  8. Please don't do that. Nobody kids around here except a couple of the old goats who hang around this forum (pun intended). Everything thing we do is deadly serious and there have been casualties. Also Frank does have an anger management issues so it's safer to be someone else when surreptitiously posting.

  10. @Milton Sica / @Vyacheslav - FYI... one of the main reasons for using the inbuilt Cakewalk JBridge integration, and not using JBridger to create a wrapper, is that Cakewalk will retain the original plugin id, whereas when using a JBridger wrapper it will be seen as a different plugin. So basically, if you use Cakewalk's JBridge support, then loading previous projects with wrapped 32 bit plugins will simply work. If you use a wrapper created by the JBridger scanner, then it won't be picked up by your previous projects.

  13. STEEL WIRE STYLE! The VREV-666 is an incredibly rare spring reverb from the 1960s that was initially designed to alter the apparent acoustic properties of listening environments. Originally built for the BBC, this compact studio legend oozes the typical rich, bouncy, and unpredictable vibe of a true electromechanical reverb in a very authentic way. AMBIENCE WITH ATTITUDE The VREV-666 is not the most realistic reverb in the world – and that’s the beauty of it. Sending any signal through its springs will always result in something vibrant and charismatic. It can add an edge to your vocals, dirty ambience to your synth, gritty room tone to your guitar and bass, or some cool finishing textures to your favorite instruments...you name it. SHINE A LIGHT Compared to the original hardware which features a single effect gain control, the VREV-666 adds a mix stage, pre-delay of up to 150 ms and a tone EQ which attenuates the pronounced resonance of the spring system in the bass range. A truly musical limiter built around a light bulb helps to tame peaks that would otherwise cause chirping overloads inside the spring tank. HOST GIFT REDEFINED While the few available hardware units remain much cherished gems inside the studios of artists and producers, the VREV-666 makes the original vintage character of this juicy spring reverb available for your DAW. And as the best things in life are free, so is this plugin emulation which is brought to you as an exclusive freebie by Fuse Audio Labs! https://fuseaudiolabs.com/#/pages/product?id=301009892 SUMMER SALE IS ON All plugins are 50% OFF until the 15th of July (12PM CET). 14. Hello Dear Cakewalk developers. I'd like to talk about such an important thing as a sampler. It's very lacking, especially when you write arrangements. Third-party samplers are not an option, because there is no direct synchronisation with DAW. Please think about my request and add a sampler to Cakewalk if possible. In Ableton and Cubase, it's very cool done. I'd appreciate it if you could add what many people ask for! All the be

  15. Some plugins producers or shops are giving kind of hidden deal if you put something into basket and left it without checkout for some days. For instance I put PositiveGrid delays into basket but changed my mind (still price not temping for me even with current deals as I have alternatives and don't like PG too much for terrible support and bugs they don't want to repair). After few days I got special voucher 10$ off what in fact made things about interesting. It would be nice for all of us to be aware of such kind behavior of sellers and to know which ones are doing this and save even more. Currently I would be happy if something like that happened on top to NI deals.

  17. I would recommend Ableton Live for live looping. The free Lite version (8 tracks/8 scenes) comes bundled with many hardware devices, and the Intro version (16 tracks/16 scenes) is not very expensive. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Live11intro--ableton-live-11-intro Plus there is a 90 day free demo of the full paid version available. https://www.ableton.com/en/trial/ Live was designed for exactly what you are trying to do (and much more). If you try looping with Cakewalk it will be a workaround, as CW was not really designed to excel at live workflow. CW is best as a studio tool for linear recording/editing. Usually it's easiest to use tools that are designed to work the way you do. Just my two cents. Sorry to hear that you had no luck with MPC Beats, as that might have been a decent free alternative from what I've heard, although I have never used it.

  22. Yeah, I get this. I nearly defected to Reaper / Studio One, and I totally get why people did. I wasn't aware how buggy Sonar X1/X2/X3/ were at the time, X2 particularly was a nightmare, I corrupted more projects than I finished with X2. However, I didn't actually realise how bad it was until I used Reaper for awhile in the Gibson/Bandlab crossover period. Reaper is solid as a rock. Thankfully, Cakewalk in it's current form is very, very good and stable, the best it's ever been by far. I just don't think people are aware, or believe it. I get that though, as I had people telling me X2 was stable when it absolutely wasn't. Bugs are being taken way more seriously now, and are being fixed quickly which is great and a testament to the team.

  27. Yeah, I get it. I just thought, "I shouldn't need to be doing this." (surgery) I found myself micromanaging frequencies too often just because I had arguably the best tool designed for that. I figured the tool was facilitating bad habits and I should direct my attention and efforts elsewhere. Whatever surgery I may need to do every now and then (mostly because I'm too lazy to treat the problem instead of the symptom), I can get done sufficiently. Mostly with that stock 4-band EQ with one band activated. If I need to actually match & invert spectrums to do detailed carving (which, I have to be honest, having to resort to always feels like a failure), Melda does that.

  30. I don't think so. I had it and sold it. I now use mostly the 4-band stock EQ of my DAW, Melda, and random analogue emulation EQ's for coloration (in that order). Don't need posh FabFilter in my life. IMHO, if you find yourself often reaching for a surgical EQ to fix something, it might pay off to stop and think what is the actual problem to solve. The right approach to solving it likely doesn't even involve an equalizer.

  40. Contact JimRoseberry through this forum. He’s a long term Sonar/Cakewalk pro user and the company he owns and operates builds Studio PCs. For a modest fee he’ll provide you a list (including links where to buy) of tested not just recommended components for assemble yourself or build one for you. The advantage is that he knows from his vast system building experience, what works and what doesn’t or component incompatibilities that are unsuitable for a DAW. Many here have used his services including myself and I’ve never heard a negative comment. Additionally he’ll give you great support for a DIY setup and of course full warranties and support for his purpose built machines. All the best.
