  2. I'm sorry to spam this forum, but I thought it should get to you all as soon as it was up. This forum is the very first thing I talk about. While it usually takes me a few weeks to make a video, I did this all yesterday and today as I wanted to get something up to plug my VI:Control post. The sound isn't that great, but I don't have time to mess with it. The hard part was to print up all that money with Tiger's picture on it. Hope you like this. It's a tribute to all of you as well as King Larry!

  3. As you all know, I am a ujam fanboy. I even bought most of the Beatmakers, even though I don't use them--I just think they're cool. But I am a big fan of the Finishers, since Carbon and Micro. I think they keep getting better with each version. I look forward to what the new guitar ones will be, as I'm sure they will be included in the next update. While they aren't the only effect that innovates beyond recreations of new hardware, I do think they are unique, and I try to show why. I hope this will be of some help to any of you who are considering buying one during the inevitable ujam BF sale.

  4. Ever walked into the forest with a sledge hammer on your shoulder? Bashed rocks to bits and pieces? Or been banging on that one rusty gate for way too long that onlookers are this close to calling for professional help? Wildebeat is the result of all that and more. It’s a modern percussive foray that has it’s heartbeat beaten in wood, metal and stone. It was recorded in the forests and abandoned buildings around here. So if you see any trolls running around looking scared, they’re probably running away from the recording sessions. Wildebeat is a modern toolkit of natural raw and designed found sound drums and percussion. It is made of an assortment of wood, metal and stone based sounds. The library is divided into two sections; natural and designed. The natural section contains all the recorded raw material in its natural form arranged into suitable kits. The designed section contains manipulated drums kits, percussion sets, hits, loops, sliced loops and fx. The library contains 261 .NKI patches, 12,881 samples and takes up 5.3 gigabytes of hard drive space. The samples are left in uncompressed WAV format to provide you with the possibility to load them into your favorite drum tool, sampler or use them as raw audio files in your DAW. Wildebeat requires the FULL VERSION of Kontakt 5. It is proven to work with version 5.8.1 and higher. It will not function in the Free Player version. Wildebeat retails for 59€ (excluding VAT where applicable). Intro price is 39€ until the 1st of January 2021. Get it here: https://www.manmakesnoise.com/wildebeat There is simple one patch demo version of the library to hear and test out the sounds: https://www.manmakesnoise.com/freebies Also the original teaser:

  6. As I read in another post Noel wants feedback from us for a chord track and what features we would wish for it. So I open here a topic for this. I'll hope I will find the right words, because english is not my foreign language. Generally I would like to see a chord track like in Cubase or in S1 with the followin features: - drag 'n' drop a chord or pad from the chord track onto a midi track and it will create a midi-part with the right notes (in S1 not possible at the moment) - listen to a chord-pad / preview with a vsti - send chords (midi-data) direct to an external instrument on a specific midi-channel (like in S1). In Cubase you have to route the chords to a midi-track and send those midi-data to the external instrument. Also possible, but one step more. - togehther with ARA2, audio-data can be transformed with the chord track like in S1 (nice to have) - midi-data must follow the chord track and are automatically transposed when a chord will change - something like a chord assistant or a circle of fifths where you can see chords matching together and a drag 'n' drop feature from this assistant Again, a chord track like in Cubase AND i AM HAPPY:

  7. Introducing Generation Electric Guitar https://indiginus.com/generation.html Introductory Price $49 Our goal with Generation was to capture the sound and spirit of an American classic electric guitar, the Fender Stratocaster™. Equally at home in rock, funk, jazz, country, pop and countless other styles, it’s versatility has been the secret of it’s over 60 years of prominence. We sampled all three pickups simultaneously and direct, so all 5 pickup positions (with the two ‘in between’ positions) stay in phase as you select them. Requires Kontakt 5.8.1 or higher. Full version. And I can't believe I beat Larry for once.

  13. If the Export Audio option would remember the previously selected folder on a per-project basis, it would save a few seconds for every export. I tend to always export a project to the same folder, during the project lifetime. It should persist between restarts of Cakewalk. And, the functionality could be optional, as it might not suit everyone's workflow. Collectively, for all exports all users do, it would save days. 🤗

  14. So I decided if they still had licenses I would get the bundle and since they weren’t sold out I got it. So far I really like the sound. I plan to blend it with other vocal libraries. Discount is crazy and I have been eyeing these for a while. I’ll need to keep playing with these for a while but so far not regretting the purchase.

  16. Just watched "Daniel Wyatt's Mastering Tips" and have to say that it was really good! I've watched many mastering vids before and most were vague, long-winded and more inspirational than practical. This one, in contrast, provided very concise, specific, and useful info that you could immediately and easily apply to your mix. Highly recommended!

  18. We also posted a great "making of" video where the people who brought AmpliTube 5 to life talk about it and some great concepts around how it came to be and how some of the more nuanced features affect the sound: https://youtu.be/Y2pg0ST1m-s

  19. True story. I posted a link once. As soon as it was up, I tested the link and discovered it didn't work so I fixed it. But Larry had already put the right link in during those few instants while I was doing that. He's kind of like Charles Bronson in "Once Upon a Time in the West."

  20. Thanks for popping in Mark. The chords and symbols in the staff view are for display only with no effect on MIDI and are not visible in other views. Pitch markers are cool, but they only work on the root note of a loop, so they don't affect individual notes in chords, e.g. major to minor chords, etc. But they could be seen as a place holder for where chord track logic / display could go, but as you say, look more like the arranger. The Cakewalk snap to scale track function leads me to believe that the logic to move MIDI notes around based on a parameter (scale or chord) exists and together with the pitch marker logic, could be used as the basis for a global chord track for MIDI. There are also the chord analyzer and transpose MFX. The chord track related functionality can be broken up into chord creation, display, detection from MIDI, affecting MIDI, detection from audio and affecting audio. There are tools, like Scaler, which can do the heavy lifting of generating MIDI chords - but Cakewalk would need a way to import the results into the chord track (MIDI capture is already present). Likewise, Melodyne with ARA 2, can analyze audio and generate a chord track, which could also be imported into a chord track (although working with polyphonic audio comes at a hefty price). I don't want to speak for everyone, but I look at the chord track primarily as a song writing tool, providing a way to prototype compositions and ideally affect song affect song playback. The current capabilities Cubase would be a great start, with the chord track affecting MIDI and monophonic audio. Maybe ARA 2 / Melodyne Essential (or Editor if present) can be leveraged.

  23. Puremagnetik has announced the release of Shrike, an advanced shimmer designer. Shrike processes an octave-shifted reverb through a matrix of 4 LFOs to create pulsating, fluctuating space effects. Between the different LFO settings (rate and waveform) you can generate cross-modulation from the controls, getting pulses and swell patterns that never repeat. For example, it is interesting to set different rates per control for overlapping, modulating spaces. Or turn the LFO rates toward the fastest speed for amplitude modulation artifacts. A slapback delay adds to the sound design possibilities as you can adjust it according to your spatial feedback needs. $9 https://puremagnetik.com/collections/spark-packs/products/shrike-advanced-shimmer-modulator Video:

  25. I would encourage avoiding a simplistic approach. The essential idea of a chord track is that it is global to the project, and all tracks are capable of being aware and following it (follow on/off). So you can re-harmonize the entire project just by a simple tweak to the chords and progression in the chord track. Another benefit to the chord track is that it provides clear chord markers. Studio One is a proven commercial success. I think the bakers should follow that example of chord track, with a Cakewalk spin, of course!

Don't think saturator and the MDMX were free, they were just released around they time they gave us other stuff. edit: https://www.synthanatomy.com/2019/12/waves-intros-abbey-road-saturator-mdmx-versatile-distortion-plugins.html

  31. Since the SWAM addition to GeoShred, I’ve been practicing my alto sax and flute daily - play them more than my guitars at the moment. My aim is 100% to get these my sounds into my recordings and fool 99% of listeners that they are listening to real instruments. I’m more than aware that the same result is possible by a skilled practitioner with a midi keyboard and the multitude of brilliant VST instruments out there, but for me it is not, and GeoShred/ SWAM is opening up this world to me. I cannot recommend the SWAM stuff highly enough.

  32. Now Lar don't take this the wrong way: You are official an old fart. 😆 Of course I remember having a few courses in college where I had to use the punch cards to input my program. Was not a fun time especially as the project for mid-terms and finals came due and we were all scrambling for computer time and praying we got it to compile. Wait this makes me an old-fart too 🤪

  41. re Fix is to delete the Kilohearts folders and reinstall. If you don't delete C:\ProgramData\Kilohearts\licenses folder you might skip the need to reregister/activate the plugin set, but no promises. Here's the email I got from Kilohearts support. ++++++++++++++++++++ Hi Steven, Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry you're running into issues installing the update. Could you try a clean re-install? That should fix it. Here are some instructions - let me know whether this works: Step 1: Find and delete your Kilohearts folder. There are two possible locations as we moved things around a while ago. It's best to check for both of them and remove whatever is there. Old location: C:\Users\[your_user]\AppData\Local\Kilohearts New Location: C:\ProgramData\Kilohearts Note that ProgramData is a hidden folder, so make sure you enable "see hidden files" in your file browser. Step 2: Download the latest version of the installer: https://kilohearts.com/data/install/_/win Step 3: Install as normal. Take care of yourself and stay safe,
