I once met one of the writers of that show and he said when they were spit balling ideas for a new show they were high and thought they should create a euphemism for a brothel (that would get past the censors). Apparently they succeeded. Uncle Joe is piano player/bouncer, the three girls initials are all "B.J." (Bobby Jo, Billie Jo and Betty Jo) and the aunt (Kate) is the madam.7 points

WOW!! These are all fantastic plugins. The RS 56 is a great sounding EQ. Looks intimidating but it's really easy once you play around with it. REDD channel is another great sounding plugin.3 points

I hand’t noticed they broke out captain beat like you mentioned. I guess I was lucky too that got it bundled for free. Would be cool to have a Captain Vocal next. Maybe it could auto tune or interact with other captain plugins as a remix/mashup tool. Hopefully they don’t charge me for an upgrade after for giving them this idea hahah I have other ideas but I’m sure they won’t adopt them like captain lazy, for writing songs for me while I nap. Or they could partner with captain morgan to automatically control level of alcohol to make songs sound better in the studio.3 points

$25 to make your crappy out of tune vocalist sound like a crappy in tune vocalist. who can resist that?2 points

Sometimes you're scary Jesse. Zappa reveled, I think, in the notion; No Commercial Potential. There's a couple of tunes in here that with "traditional" production are jewels. (They are Jewels, but could be commercially viable) Keep it up, as always a big Fan, lots of goodies here........ t2 points

Not Abbey Road specifically but I just got an upgrade quote through Waves.com and ran it past Koby to see what sort of a price he could do. Saved me a decent chunk of change and his responses were lightning!2 points

I may be one of the few recordists in existence who feels that he already has enough mics, but there is some good value in these packages. The shock mount, the pop screen, the arm (if you need these), and then the mic's housing and circuit boards. Microphone Parts sells a compatible upgrade capsule for $30. A circuit board with upgraded components would be another $120. They use the same Schoeps clone circuit as half the Chinese condensers on the market, in surface mount form. I've done the most basic mods on my Chinese condensers, swapping in higher-quality caps made a readily audible difference (use of surface mount components makes the job more difficult, but not impossible). The other mod I like is to lightly pack the inside of the mic body with shipping foam to lower physical resonance within the hollow mic body.2 points

MTuner from the Meldaproduction MFreeFX bundle has, as one of its functions, an audio-to-MIDI converter. I've tried it and it works pretty well.* (*what you should really do is grab a bass and practice with a metronome until you can nail the part with impeccable precision. Then set Cakewalk to record in loop mode until you get a take that will require no quantizing, comping, or copy-and-pasting. Ideally, your playing should be so precise that even compression would be superfluous. This is because acquiring skill playing your instrument is inherently better than acquiring skill using your DAW and it is always futile to try to salvage imperfect recordings. You must go back and re-record, even if doing so would require rounding up multiple musicians or inventing time travel, the latter of which is likely to be the easier task)2 points

Why do they stand outside even when the door is open......? Because they never know when to come in.2 points

Why do drummers always knock on their own front door? Because they have no idea what a key is.2 points

Mixcraft comes with a UI-less GM synth that has some decent sounds in it (especially drum kits). It behaves similarly to Cakewalk/TTS-1 when bringing in MIDI files.2 points

This is the method I typically start with to work with any existing MIDI file. ^^^ Having the Cakewalk TTS-1 synth being automatically configured for the song with General MIDI instruments for each track is a real winner. This is truly a strong point for Cakewalk if you are into MIDI files. A huge time saver! Then you can start off right away adding new instrument plug-ins for better sounding tracks! I'm not aware of any other DAW that does it this well, especially at this price point (free). For example, Studio One can do it, but it inserts a separate instance of their Presence sampler for each sound, where TTS-1 is 16 part mult-timbral, and does it all within a single instance. I think Cubase can do it with the bundled HALion Sonic sampler. Maybe give it a try if you are already a Cubase user.2 points

Well, I tried, I made it to 23 Here are some stats prior to this last effort. 1. 23 songs in 28 days 2. Nearly 900 cakewalk song forum views 3. 78 Soundclick steams. That comes out to 3.3 streams per song. Not bad for a guy like me! 4. I have deleted most of the songs from soundclick page and kept the ones that had some listens. Thanks All! it's usually a balance of the thresholds, but with anything automatic, you're letting a computer make the decisions - I recommend you make a copy of the audio clip(s) so you can tweak them later... you could use the take lanes for the copy and then do any "comping" and make adjustments where the remove silence was too aggressive. another option is to use Melodyne to strip out noise artifacts or Izotope RX-7/8 to "fix it", and/or gate/compress it (or even all of the above).1 point

1. Depends on the theme. Old SONAR themes and CbB themes made prior to 2020.04 must be updated. User themes for CbB are discussed here. I believe all the themes discussed in that forum are current. 2. This is how the theme editor works. Adding/removing images and colors do not break themes. It can cause a theme to be inconsistent but this is a cosmetic problem. Image geometry changes like the ones in 2020.04 require updates to user themes. These changes were detailed in Fortunately these changes are rare.1 point

Do you possibly have the menu option “Allow Any Preset Location” checked when you click the “Import/Export Presets” button? And if so, what happens if you deselect that checkbox? Is it then possible for you to select a Padshop 2 program/preset? I noticed that if I have that option checked I get the same strange behaviour as you with a standard Windows File Open dialogue being displayed. But with that option deselected, I get the preset/program browser pop-up you would expect.1 point

That's one of the few things you can't blame God for. He only put in personal appearances in the old testament which was originally in Hebrew. Written Hebrew had no vowels, so "becan" was written as "bcn". Either way, it was a definite no-no, until Christians decided to ignore the bits of the old testament that they didn't like*. * Along with a lot of retcon to pathe the way for their messiah.1 point

Working in film, I have to batch rename tracks all the time. Powershell is your friend. Example: dir | rename-item -NewName {$_.name -replace "c1","Mix.L"} dir | rename-item -NewName {$_.name -replace "c2","Mix.R"} dir | rename-item -NewName {$_.name -replace "c3","L"} dir | rename-item -NewName {$_.name -replace "c4","R"}1 point

CD burner programs and other programs that export files in batches typically have a batch file title editor that applies whatever naming convention the user desires. The screen shot below is from the free file naming program, MP3 Tag. Essentially you want a file naming editor that lets a user select various track and project properties, reorder the properties as desired and the file naming editor automatically applies the track names during export.1 point

"Windows 10 2004 fixes?" he wondered, talking to himself. Still the update appeared to have no side effects and Cakewalk projects using Addictive Drums 2 still ran smoothly. He soon forgot about the update as his son reminded him that the dryer was once again 'broken'. "Mehhh" he muttered under his breathe and closed his web browser, noting that sometimes the projects we work on choose us instead of vice versa...1 point
