  3. It is quite interesting that S1 keeps being mentioned, are you aware that if any DAW other than S1 is mentioned, on their forums or social media streams those people are removed and banned from those forums and social media streams. Bandlab have been very generous on that front. I suspect Cakewalk and Bandlab have good reasons for not releasing the products Sonar and Next, they probably want to get it right. From what I understand it is a complete overhaul of the GUI, replacing all the BMP, PNG images possible with vector graphics to make the entire GUI scalable, where possible. That is quite some trick to a GUI that has been in the wild some 9 years and probably 10 to 11 from development.

  4. At first glance I’m not wild about an organ soundbank from Toontrack for EZKeys 2. Because the soundbanks for EZKeys in general have never been the draw, instead the magic is the tool itself and the midi that we can put together. I am, however, quite intrigued about midi packs specializing in organ phrases. I might grab the organ soundbank because it may accentuate those midi packs. Very interesting new addition to their line up!

  7. Speak his name and the devil appears... I listened to the clips and it sounds pretty good. Anybody can stack a bunch of oscillators and come up with a reasonable Hammond tone. So what I listen for is the one thing everybody struggles to get right: the Leslie, its tonal coloration, distortion, stereo spread, doppler effect, speed changes and model types. This one seems to be doing a good job at those things, maybe even equal to IKM's Leslie. All that's moot to me, though, as EZKeys is not a product category that I have any interest in.

  8. Hi Charles, not a dumb question because the folder can get large. On windows, mine is - c/users/(name)/documents/celemony/separations. I hadn't emptied it in a while and its 1.17 gb!

  9. Sorry if this is a dumb question but are melodyne files stored somewhere else besides as well as being rendered into cakewalk? Just trying to know if there are files I can delete to free up space. Thanks

  14. Just a quick update: I've heard back from the Cakewalk team, and they're conducting an investigation on their end. I'll be watching my inbox for any further communication from them, but I was impressed by their response time.

  16. "instead of the normal $270" - I hate how companies exagerate the actual value. For $197 you can get the premium bundle with 68 packs. Plus every now and then the bundles are 60% off too. $27 for 16 packs isn't bad, though, of course. If they contain something you want, that is. Right now Function Loops has another special offer: https://www.functionloops.com/sharp-10.html - celebrating the 10 years aniversary of their label "Sharp" you get 109 packs/25GB+ for $79. Or 70% off any individual sample pack with code "SHARP".

  21. The Separations folder starts to kick the oldest items out when it hits its internal limit. If it has never been manually purged, and you use Melodyne, it will not be empty. If Melodyne edits are not rendered/bounced before saving a cwp, you will also see the cwp file grow in size, since the cwp is storing the edit information to pass to Melodyne when the cwp gets opened.

  22. Exactly. This nag screen (also with time counter) it's a total nonsense. I think pretty much everyone that uses CbB knows that soon there will be also again a reborn Sonar. It's a reminder that popup also when you are offline, so it's certain that I can't "know more" from that splash screen because I'm offline. It's only an annoying splash screen useful for disrupt workflow and creativity if I would like to rapid start CbB.

  23. I just want to say thank you to every person who has come here and helped someone else solve their problem. I have come here for many years and there has always been someone who has had the solution to my issue. Thank you to those who don't have to be here but they are, people like scook who helped me in the middle of the night fix an issue so I could keep recording. Guys like Cactus Music Studios, John Vere and Shane_B. This forum and these people are like emergency room personnel there to help in a time of crisis, and if you are recording, and something goes wrong, that is a real crisis. I would rather my house burn down than not be able to get signal coming through a channel. So a huge thank you and hug today to everyone who has helped someone here. 🤗

  24. I was puzzled by the comments that if you render the melodyne it does not generate a separation file in that folder because I am in the habit of rendering my work and rarely if ever would close a project with a melodyne open in process and always get files in my separations folder. So I just did an experiment with a one track project and empty separations folder. I edited an audio clip with melodyne, rendered it, closed the project, and a file of it showed up in my separations folder. So it was rendered and the project closed and that separation showed up. Maybe there is a setting somewhere that @John Vere and @Glenn Stanton have setup that I havent? Thanks for any info

  25. No you don't have to enter credit card number. Just hit the Buy button, then a pop-up comes up, in there under Subtotal select the Add discount, enter the coupon code in that area, then select Apply, which reduces price to zero, then all you got to do is input your email address, country and postal code.

  28. What good does it do you to be famous when you're dead? I guess that's why Elvis Presley faked his death, gained a lot of weight, went bald, got unrecognizable, and enjoyed his money. BTW, did you ever see the cult film Bubba Ho-Tep? It's an absurd and stupid little comedy, but it's pretty funny. From Wiki: Bubba Ho-Tep is a 2002 American comedy horror film written, co-produced and directed by Don Coscarelli. It stars Bruce Campbell as Sebastian Haff, a man residing in a nursing home who claims to be the real Elvis Presley. The film also stars Ossie Davis as Jack, a black man who claims to be John F. Kennedy, explaining that he was patched up after the assassination, dyed black, and abandoned.

  29. Edit: Feb 9. Below was wrong info as I was not looking in the correct folder. Mine had 340 MB. When ever I look in there it’s always empty. I use Melodyne a lot but I always render immediately before moving on. My Z key opens Melodyne and my X key Renders.

  34. Ya I abandoned Sound Cloud a few years ago as it seems to be declining. I like that on Sound Click you can easily update a song. Only reason I put this song on Sound cloud for now is it’s a work in progress and I seem to have a lot of followers on Sound Click now so didn’t want to contaminate that playlist just yet. I sort of use Sound Cloud for music that I do for fun. I forgot about the Uncle Stuff that was our band 12 or more years ago. It was a lot of fun but the Drummer moved away and we never found a suitable replacement.

  41. Utilities > Cakewalk Audio Finder Tool (CWAF) will also show you what files are used by which projects. It will likely show that all the clips in the Audio folder are in fact referenced by the project. Most likely there are tiny slivers of clips left over from deleting with incompete clip selections. Unfortunately those can be hard to find in a complex project. If you know which files should no longer be referenced by name, you can select each track/lane one at time, right-click and choose Associated Audio Files. If you see one of the 'unused' file names in the list, you can start searching that track/lane for it. If you do a partial selection of a track/lane - even an apparently empty region - you can right-click and choose to see Associated Audio Files and it will show if there's something there or more than the one file you expect. Since it's possible (though unintended) for clips to be layered on top of eachother in the same lane, you'll need to check regions with visible clips as well. Once you narrow down the area, you can zoom in and scroll around to find the troublemaker(s). If the problem involves layered clips, you might have to move 'known' clips to another lane temporarily to find hidden ones. I realize this is a pretty ugly solution, but it's the only way I can think of to track them down.
