  2. While it doesn't look like this plugin was well-tested upfront -- which leaves room for improvement -- I am, nonetheless, impressed by the developer's responsiveness to reported issues. And he's consistently been very responsive in my experience. Yes, maybe he could have gotten this right in the first place, I can't really say, however, when he was made aware of a problem he was very quick to fix it and that kind of responsiveness is noteworthy and not something I take for granted. I have maybe a dozen or so of his plugins and bought them all super cheap and don't recall ever having any issues with any of them. But it's great to know that if any of his plugins do have issues, he's likely to be on top of it quickly. Here's to indie developers who work their tails off to provide the best software and service they can deliver.

  4. Hello , here's a new one that needs finalizing. There's a good bit of acoustic guitar mixed with my G&L and synth work. I could really use some guidance on EQ , instrument and vocal levels. So .. that's about everything. I think it's getting close but , I'm not trusting my ears right now . I'm into one of those 6 month tinnitus reoccurrences. This time I've gotten the unusual "broken speaker effect". It had me swapping out everything including my interface. Now it's subsided to just the ringing. Thank You for the listen and any comments .. mark Links now reflect remix 1 (per suggestions). Thanks mark https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14655929

  5. I’m not very good at spending money on stuff for myself. I’ve finally replaced the 9 year old dying Mac in July after a year of postponing and calculating and reassessing, and I was pressured to make a move because the upgrade options were getting fewer and more expensive by the hour. Otherwise, who knows how much longer I would have stalled… But a few weeks ago, I felt an urge to listen to Back in Black on vinyl, so I bought the album on Amazon. And a turntable to play it. Well, that was like opening the floodgates. Amazon must be very happy with me, as I’ve been re-building the record collection at a rather fast pace (especially for someone usually so careful with money). I find myself constantly looking for the next vinyl, and I have a bunch of them in my cart at all time. My last catch is a 45 rpm/2 discs version of Sad Wings of Destiny that I found on eBay. Sealed. With the embossed cover. Cool stuff. I’ve always looked fondly on the good old days when I’d put on a record and just lie on my back on the floor and listen. Used to be my favorite thing as a kid - putting the headphones on and listening to 8 tracks. That set up makes it easier to do just that. No display, no smart phone, just me and that one record that I pick. Also seems easier to commit to an entire album too - you can’t just scroll and click on something else. That’s been my thing after work recently. Try and listen to an album a day - instead of just having music playing in the background while I do chores or look up stuff on the internet. Hadn’t really done that since the 90’s. Amusing, considering that I'd done away with vinyls, CDs and tapes all those years ago and embraced the digital era. I sold my entire collection in 2004, although I did start buying CDs again after settling here in 2013. I'd simply import them on the computer and store them. And so now I’m looking into CD players, for the same purpose. But since hipsters don’t think CDs are cool, CD players are a lot harder to find and a lot more expensive than a relatively decent turntable.

  7. Honestly, I hope that Cakewalk brings back something resembling the Command Center when the new Sonar is released. It was a great app and easy to use for downloading and installing all the Cakewalk content. Kind of similar to NI Access.

  11. The issue might be your browser's autocomplete. Since the login for Izotope is now at https://auth.native-instruments.com, your browser might fill in your username and password from Native Instruments rather than Izotope.

  19. Download on https://www.sonible.com/my-account/ ~~~~~~ Thanks. If found that I had missed updates for TrueBalance, Freiraum, & SmartLimit If you own multiple Sonible plugins updating is a real pain. Wish that Sonible listed the latest version & release date on their website download page or even offer a centralized installer.

  21. Hi all, it's been a while so ... I think I previously posted this song as "Speakeasy" a while back. This version is shorter and has a lead guitar solo in place of the MIDI sax. EDIT: forum comments actioned. Further comments welcomed. https://www.bandlab.com/post/d9ae5bc8-5058-ee11-9937-000d3a41ec2a

  23. Back in 2014-2015 timeframe i was a regular at the open mic held each Tuesday at the Backstage Hotel in Amsterdam. This was expected to be (mainly) original songs, and i was generally writing a new original each week to introduce there. So i set myself the task of creating a "pop" number... Our host (Max) spent the better part at the end of the night, whistling the tune 🙂 so i figured i should record it... this is it's latest incarnation leveraging Kevin and Natalie in a duet. 😉 let me know your thoughts. instruments: -- drums (6 tracks) -- upright bass (1 track) -- grand piano (1 track) (rhythm & solo) -- acoustic guitar (1 track) -- electric piano (1 track) (tremolo chord intros) -- lead vocals (2 tracks) -- backing vocals (2 tracks) D Major, 112BPM

  26. Most likely what happened is the page opened as a tab in your web browser but it did not jump to the foreground so you didnt see it. Either that or something is blocking the application from simply launching a URL in the associated web browser. If you run into that its generally recommended to close the browser before trying to sign in so it will launch visibly. Again nothing has changed in the sign in process itself. Its worked this way for over a year now.

  39. I'm kind of tired of hearing about the whole lifetime update thing. It's common sense that it know longer applies. I think bandlab did everyone a huge favor for letting everyone have it for free for as long as they did. Personally I'm grateful and excited to see Sonar back! I hope they expand and update some of the prochannel tools. I always thought that it was a feature that set Sonar apart. I honestly can't think of anything that I need. It's already a full featured DAW that hold's it own with anything out there.

  40. This is clearly mentioned in the release notes. BandLab assistant is no longer compatible with CbB since it uses an obsolete activation server. Offline activation is not yet available for this version. We'll provide a tool to do that somewhat later.

  41. Activation or signing in isnt a requirement to do updates. Just do a check for updates and it should find the new update.

  42. [UPDATE 19-Oct-2023: Cakewalk 2023.09 Update 1 (build 29.09.0.075) now available] We're pleased to announce the 2023.09 release! This release is primarily a maintenance release and includes over 60 bug fixes for user reported issues. Please note: Version 2023.09 will likely be the last update to Cakewalk by BandLab (CbB). CbB will eventually be discontinued as future development and support will transition to the upcoming Cakewalk Sonar release. All Cakewalk products require activation. Changes to the activation server require that all earlier versions of Cakewalk by BandLab must be updated to version 2023.09 in order to activate successfully. If you wish to continue to use CbB, you must update to the 2023.09 version. Earlier versions will cease to activate in the future. BandLab Assistant is no longer used for installing or activating CbB or other Cakewalk products. You must use in-app activation as described below. You can continue to use BandLab Assistant, but not for Cakewalk products. In order to activate CbB, you must sign in to your BandLab account by choosing Help > Sign In to BandLab. When the sign-in web page opens, enter your BandLab credentials to sign in from there. If activation was successful, you will receive a "Cakewalk is fully activated" confirmation message. Note: Opening a web browser to independently sign in to BandLab will not activate Cakewalk. Version 2023.09 currently does not support offline activation, so your computer must be online to activate it. Offline activation will be available soon. In order to automatically keep your activation status up to date, Cakewalk will renew your activation status whenever a new version of the application is installed and run for the first time, and when you sign in to BandLab from within Cakewalk. If you have never signed in to BandLab from within Cakewalk, you will be prompted once to sign in. Thanks, The Bakers To download and install the 2023.09 update, select Help > Check for Updates from within the app. Note: Because earlier versions of Cakewalk can no longer be activated, there is no rollback installer available for the 2023.09 release.
