  1. It's a cymbal of the economic times. A re percussion of being snared in a world where we all must dance to the beat of only one drummer - the relentless, monotonous dirge that is climate change - aka the Al Gore Rhythm.

  3. Thanks 👍, yeah, apart TEOTE which I already own I really wanted SPAN Plus and r8brain Pro, and Elephant, there is always good words spoken about it, ahh, the thought/choice process was taking too long, so I just threw in the extra $100 and got the lot, I'm sure I'll get some use out of the rest, even if it's just entering the key code, setting them up and choosing a color scheme and GUI size 😉 or consider it a donation to a much maligned of late small developer, either works for me. 😇 Thanks again 👍

  4. I'd go Eventide or PA's ADA Flanger or Kuassa next. Kuassa will be cheaper by a long shot, and perhaps another sale around BF, although they just finished a half price sale not long ago so maybe not, but it's only $25. Kuassa make good stuff, better than the price may reflect. The eventide is $125, and the PA ADA is $99 but can get it much cheaper on a sale, either $19.99 or $29.99 can't recall, and if you have a voucher even lower. 5. If you have the last version installed (2022.06), then updating to 2022.09 goes with an Update installer only. But if you have a version prior 2022.06, then calling an update to 2022.09 executes a full installer. Thus if you use the 2022.06 rollback (to 2022.02), then an installation of 2022.09 uses the full installer (if you have already updated to 2022.09, then you have to use the 2022.09 rollback (to 2022.06) first). I agree that it is somehow complicate and I agree that the naming of the rollback installers are confusing, too. I usually rename the rollback installers to something like "Cakewalk_Rollback-to-2022.06.0.034" (this is the 2022.09 rollback installer for example). This name is more evident for me! 😉

  6. The 4.2 software that came out in March I think started allowing you to do this... Before that you had to do a lot of stuff to import samples like have the key to every sample and they had to be labeled and formated a certain way for it to work. I'm glad they updated this feature it could be helpful..😀

  9. Burning in the shadows, short little tune of experimental ideas with some sound design and i probably should have done more singing and not spoken. However excuse the video, i don't like it, banged it together for something to watch whilst you listen top the tune.

  10. Thought you guys may get a kick out of this... well, if you like what we do, you'll get your money's worth out of it, if not... I guess it'll be an hour of awful so probably avoid 😛 In 2016 we played the ProgPower USA festival in Atlanta, and we were given the option of having the show recorded and filmed, so that's just what we did. We just made this free to watch after years of it being paid video on demand. Tech drama galore on the day, so there were a few patch ups back here in the studio later, but otherwise, this was all mixed and produced in SONAR Platinum (and I wish I had some of the features CbB has now back then!) and then sync'd to the video which I edited in my NLE. My audio machine at the time was in desperate need of an upgrade and, in fact, the audio data drive started to corrupt the project after a while, so I had to redo a lot of the corrupted automation, which was just freakin' neato. 🤨 Another good reminder to do daily backups and to never assume your gear can't fail on you. Anyway, lots of heavy metal type music, sweaty men running around a stage, silly gags, and... being both a heavy metal band and Australian, it goes without saying that there's an explicit language warning that goes along with this video! You've been warned! HAHA! Enjoy!

  13. Nothing challenging. Nothing ground breaking. Just a nice little indie folk tune in an unusual open-tuning. I've been unusually active in writing recently and this one came together in a flash. I might need to return to it at some point to sort out the vocals....if I don't get lazy I think it could make a nice album filler.

  14. Thanks @Xel Ohh for this tidbit and @abacab for prompting it. Looks like I updated to 4.2.2 mid-July (from an earlier version), but I have not done too much of anything serious with it since. I gave up on trying to use the ST4 Editor after first trying that. I have tons of hardware sampler and software banks (CDs and files) and would love to be able to use them in a reasonably full-featured contemporary multi-timbral soft synth. It is now on my list to explore. Found it in the user manual: Thanks for showing us this!!!

  17. I picked up Fallout 4 (2015) nearly 5 years ago in 2018 from Humble Bundle, but it turned out to be a Steam key. Tons of fun for $14.99 & reasonable system requirements for the day. Not too excited about Steam though... Never played Fallout 3 (2008), but would definitely recommend 4. Unfortunately, GOG only seems to carry Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout 3. BTW, Fallout 3 is on sale at Steam for $2.49, Fallout 4 is $4.99, Fallout: New Vegas is $2.49, all until October 18th.

  20. Mix 4 Trying to get the vocals more clean (I thought they were muddy) and some automation on the instruments as well as different reverbs added. Mix 3 taking in suggestions. Working on a track for a band called Hobo Train (I am their sound engineer) This is my second mix and would value your thoughts. It is in Norwegian so the lyrics many wont get.. bit to judge the mix you can 🙂 I ran it through the BandLab Master chain.. and will post another without it. Thanks for your time. Gary

  21. I don't know if it's already implemented but it would be cool to have a global settings where we could add default controllers into that list instead of always adding again and again into projects and tracks.

  22. Hi All, long time no see, long story don't ask ; ) Didn't think I would record again, but wanted to give it another try. This is a bit of guitar noodling I did to try out the new Cakewalk with the old plugins from X3 and the upload function to Bandlab. So this is just me having some fun. 24. Typo in the Release notes, both here in the forum and on the website: "Set Measure/Beat As Now" should be "Set Measure/Beat At Now". Unless there's also a feature named "... As...", which would be rather confusing - so probably a typo! Small thing, but setting the beat "as now" is the opposite of setting it "at now" , so it might be wise to fix it.

  26. https://www.gog.com/en/game/fallout_3_game_of_the_year_edition Doesn't bloat your drive, no boutique graphics card needed, still great to play. When older games are on sale I like to buy non Steam versions of the same game DRM free.

  27. You would love Fallout 3. It takes up only 8gb. The only reason 4 is not available is because the DRM has not been removed. I have 76 but haven't played it yet. New Vegas was meh. Fallout 4 has mods.

  28. The way it should work is when you register your new device at PreSonus, you get to download the version that is current. Since PreSonus is no longer selling the old version I would be pretty confident you would be entitled to receive S1 Artist v6. 37. Have you tried the strumming engine in the Indiginus guitars by Tracy Collins? https://www.indiginus.com/renegade-acoustic-guitar He has scripted a brilliant Kontakt UI for guitar. But since I am not a guitar player, I can't really say if it would solve your question, although it might be worth a look. This is a 9 min walkthrough of his Renegade Acoustic for Kontakt (full). The strumming engine overview begins at 4:55.

  40. We're pleased to announce the 2022.09 release! This is primarily a maintenance release that includes fixes for a few user reported issues. Please note that in order to automatically keep your activation status up to date, Cakewalk will renew your activation status whenever a new version of the application is installed and run for the first time, and when you sign in to BandLab from within Cakewalk. If you have never signed in to BandLab from within Cakewalk, you will be prompted once to sign in. Thanks, The Bakers For new feature details, see New Features. Should you need to revert to the 2022.06 release, you can download the Cakewalk 2022.06 Rollback installer. 2022.09 Highlights Improvements Mono inputs from Patch Points and Aux Tracks Prior to this release, if a track or bus had an input assigned to a mono input (L/R) from an AUX track or Patch Point, the input would always and include both left and right channels from the patch point when playing back. Patch point inputs now correctly include just the channel specified as a track input. Note: Existing projects that utilize aux track or patch point mono inputs will sound different because previously these would render as stereo only. If you want them to sound the same as before, you can reassign the input to be stereo. Reduced minimum project loop length The minimum project loop length has been reduced to 1/128th note (30 ticks). Update to élastique SDK 3.4.0 Integrated zplane élastique Pro audio stretching and pitch shifting has been updated to version 3.4.0 with bug fixes and performance enhancements. Update to latest Microsoft redistributables and compiler The application is now built using the latest Microsoft tools that include some minor compile time fixes and optimizations. Application Signing The application signature has been refreshed to remove dependencies with Symantec certificates. In some cases, this would cause the application to be flagged as unsafe or cause the digital signature to be treated as invalid, potentially causing activation errors. Additionally, we now sign all DLL files and themes installed by the application to prevent unexpected quarantining by antivirus programs at install time or runtime. Note: If you do an update install of the application, only the main application and its DLL files will be updated with the new digital signatures. To update all signed components, you will have to run the full application installer. Optimizations Improved responsiveness of the application on stopping transport with large projects The MIDI All Notes Off message is no longer sent to VST plugins on transport stop. This message can be expensive for some plugins (eg Console Emulator) and the symptom was that the application could appear unresponsive for a few seconds after stopping playback, when the project contained a large number of tracks. Since Cakewalk manages all MIDI note on's explicitly, sending note off messages for just those notes, the All Notes Off message is no longer required. This may also improve start/stop responsiveness with other VST instruments. ProChannel plugins no longer receive MIDI Some ProChannel modules were requesting MIDI data leading to unnecessary processing lag. MIDI to Prochannel modules has now been blocked. Bug fixes Application UI is not shown after "Almost done..." message when opening projects containing certain plugins Occasional heap corruption on deleting synth tracks "Nudge by snap" uses Landmarks even with Snap to Landmarks button disabled Regression - unable to use automation shelf tool after making time ruler selection Set Measure/Beat As Now creates duplicate nodes at the end of the tempo envelope Export presets do not recall custom sample rate Export module shows inaccurate elapsed time for selection The ampersand character (&) behaves incorrectly in the track inspector's Description text box Simple Instrument Tracks cause incorrect track numbers when exporting audio Latest release notes are here. See prior release notes. Check out all new features released to date.

  41. Personally I would rather the Dev Team work on the actual Cakewalk App itself because there are a gazillion FX plugins out there of all shapes , sizes and budgets. I don't use the Pro Channel myself as my workflow pre-dates the Pro Channels existence and I'm faster with my go to plugins but if you want more Pro Channel Functionality you can host 3rd party plugins within it right ? They don't have to be specific Cakewalk ones. So I would advocate for that - and if that doesn't work well enough ( which IDK as I've never tried it ) then maybe ask the Devs to make the PC hosting of 3rd party plugins even better.
