  1. Their impending arrival was mentioned by Larry about a year ago in this sub I think. I just saw Cameron/Venus Theory raving about them and demoing them, and yes, they are alll that. If you like the sounds that result from using Glitchmachines/Freakshow/Unfiltered products, get over there now. BIG sounding drones and so forth. I already got the effect to make Monastery Grand sound like a lo fi cello. The UI's are a visual treat, waveforms and animations that glow with the sound (and you can select how much of that eye candy you want). 2. Hello, it's great to see you, as we have an exciting announcement. Together with u‑he, we're happy to introduce CLAP, an open, modern, and free plug-in standard. Audio plug-ins and host applications like DAWs share a vital mission: to help creators produce audio and make music. CLAP (Clever Audio Plug-in API) brings performance leaps and new possibilities, clarity and support to simplify developer effort, and an open source model that is a safe investment for all. https://www.bitwig.com/stories/201/

  4. So, I told them on Fakebook An EXCLUSIVE offer is one where only YOU offer it, not every other vendor in the world. I also told them, YOU don't even offer a DISCOUNT at all over what every vendor in the world offers, despite calling it an "Exclusive offer for owners of MPS 5"! They didn't respond at all, and it's been hours since I wrote that

  5. Or replace it with an R as that what VST developers will probably call it anyway. Might help in the Chinese market too.

  6. Even worse, in 2001 Honda were to launch a car named Honda Fitta, which in Swedish means… hm, I’m not even going to tell you. But good luck trying to sell a car with that name there! According to the car magazine Auto Motor & Sport, press releases had already been distributed in Japan with catch phrases such as “Honda Fitta is small on the outside but big once you've entered” and "Honda Fitta is a daily pleasure". When Honda had been made aware of the implications, the car ended up being called Honda Fit in Japan and Honda Jazz in Europe. And all the brochures that were already printed had to be thrown away. So indeed, there are many languages to consider in world-wide marketing.

  13. Cruisin' PCH in a '57 T-Bird Back in the day a friend of mine and I would cruise down Pacific Coast Highway in his dad's '57 Thunderbird. This is the highway in Southern California that straddled Pacific Ocean beaches from Los Angeles down to San Diego. We were pretty cool back then just cruising in that classic T-Bird and that's what I thought of when writing this song. I don't particularly like jazzy stuff but that's how the song sort of evolved to. Thanks for listening/comments. I'm traveling to Norway in a couple of days for the fjords, waterfalls and things like that to take pictures of. So I probably won't be responding to comments for a while. 16. Thank you for the lesson. Some new thing learned today for someone like me that has a bad English. Anyway, to put some of context in the nature of some names used by companies... Microsoft and Nokia called their phones Nokia Lumia Lumia in spanish is bitch Mazda named a car as Laputa that in Spanish is the same that Lumia And Mitsubishi named a car like Pajero that in Spanish is other sexual word I mean, naming is difficult, but when a word has different meanings, we tend to look for the dirty name instead of the correct intentionality

  20. Terrible name... (What were they thinking?) While I have no doubt about the benefits, it's hard to bump an industry standard plugin format. Bitwig and U-he are the only "major" software/plugin vendors currently onboard. Bigger companies are going to be reluctant to make a change. Unless the entire industry adopts "CLAP" (that just sounds wrong), it's over before it's begun.

  31. I had a guy steal source code from my company and we sued him. It took 3 years to win and I got a judgement for $600k. I spent about $150k on the suit. He has no money, so I will reclaim none of the damages. This is a much more difficult and complicated situation that you all might think, and it's more difficult because one person is in Russia. My guess is the code wasn't actually copyrighted. A lot of developers believe there is an automatic copyright on published code but it doesn't work that way (I found that out the hard way). Of all the charges we brought against the guy copyright infringement wasn't one of them. Instead, we had to go for things like Unfair Competition (for example, you can't take a competitor's bicycle and change the seat and call it your own). Legal is tricky, expensive, and often ugly. What I know for sure is this is NOT how you handle this situation. All that the company should have said is "Unfortunately, there has been a disagreement between parties and now the attorneys are involved and sorting it out. Please be patient with us as we navigate this issue." and NOTHING ELSE. Offering a public list of your grievances and differences only hurts you - period. I wish them both the best of luck - but boy do I wish for both their sakes they take this offline.

  32. There are a few advantages to staff view. * If you have set the key for the song it easy to scan through to see if there are any accidentals that should not be there. * If you have improvised a part it's easier to set up the chord structure to your improv - I use the arranger track while viewing the staff. But I agree timing is far easier to adjust in PRV.

  33. I've found there are fine subtleties that I can't express in the staff view where I can draw them in PRV. Mostly fine timing.

  36. Based on what I'm seeing (from current adopters), those pushing for CLAP are developers pushing the limits of polyphonic parameter modulation. I'm certainly not against it... but that's not the vast majority of developers and end-users. Look at MPE support with hardware instruments. I'm all for it... but many folks use MIDI controllers without channel-aftertouch... let alone polyphonic. What is Avid going to gain by supporting CLAP? Keep in mind they never adopted VST as a plugin standard.

  40. I have taken it apart! I knew how to do it back in the day. I still remember what to do, but it doesn't seem to work. It maybe that after all these years it's just stuck in there. Living in south Louisiana, we have high humidity almost constantly si that joint may have swollen up like the dowels!! I sure wish I had pictures of it, mostly to show how simple this joint really is. It is a precision joint, make no mistake. It fits in there tight, once it gets to that special place where is 'snaps in' or locks in. @kennywtelejazz Went to the LP forum and posted there. Got a few hits but nothing much. On this forum here I have gotten more discussion about it than anywhere else.
