  1. I grew up in San Diego and a friend worked for this company. I remember laughing at this ad because who the heck needs 10 MB of storage anyway??? I waited until the price came down to $910 and bought one... *Sigh...* πŸ™„

  4. "Native Instruments and iZotope will continue to exist independently, with our own leadership, teams, brands, and product lines. But when it comes to defining our shared future and vision, the two of us will work side-by-side as co-presidents of the new group, supported by our talented and passionate teams." IOW, they haven't figured out who to fire first and where the real redundancies are. πŸ™‚

  7. 3 db increase often involves summing two channels into one. Examples are given in the documentation My guess is the entire mix export is stereo so this summing does not occur. Based on the plug-in dot pattern, the plug-ins in the FX rack are stereo so even through the clips are mono, they are being processed in stereo. Exporting the track as mono causes processed signal (now stereo) to be summed.

  15. I can't predict the future, but my personal observations This isn't a buy becuase the company is hemoraging A top tier brand that has seen ridiculoius growth in the last year Captial Investments want a return on their money (this typically doesn't mean lower prices) Hopefully Izotope is doing well enough and continues to do so that major price hikes/lack of sales won't be necessary to meet expectation When the pandemic ends - the demand for the surge in plugin buying is likley to dwindle back to some state of normalicy Make no misake, we have seen a huge boon in plugin buying in the last year.

  22. I saw these for $10 a while back. I'm guessing this is an extreme loss leader to get people into the brick and mortar stores. PNY Technologies 480GB ELITE PORTABLE SSD None in stock near me. Friend of mine in Chicago grabbed a dozen. He said they we slow for SSD standards, but way faster than his HHD drives.

  23. OMG! FULL SCREEN MODE! YES! LOL! Shift + F. If you're like me and assigned a macro to Shift + F so it worked like CbB then make sure you re-assign full screen mode toggle to another key. F seems to not be used by S1 for anything so I used that. I manually went in to full screen mode by clicking View on the menu area and scrolling down to Windows and then Fullscreen. Problem is, once the menu area is gone while in full screen mode there is no way to bring it back. I had to hit the Windows key to bring up the task bar then close and reopen S1. πŸ‘πŸ»

  25. My apologies for not responding sooner. I've been dealing with some medical issues. When you are 76, you get to know the inside of doctor's offices quite well. I will be looking at all suggestions in detail. RE: my style of playing - I'm just an old chord guy trying to get well - not a flat or finger picker so don't have the skills to play melody or lead. I should have mentioned that in my post - my bad. So, I guess, the simpler the better for me in terms of a "solution". But, if I read these posts carefully (and I will), I'm sure there is a workable answer (or combination of answers) for me somewhere. Per John: I'm doing "covers", if you will, of some of the many BG songs I've heard, learned and played over the course of 50+ years. My wife of 50 years recently requested that I record "my music" for our grandchildren and others. That is my ultimate goal. Most of my jams with other pickers included a bass, but I am unable to work with those folks now - don't even know where they are at this point. Hence, my reason for looking at DAWs, VSTs, etc. to help recreate the "moments" as much as possible. I would certainly be interested finding free midi tracks of BG songs - also C&W & '40's - '60's hits. My wife is a big Ricky Nelson fan. Per Kurre: I am looking very closely at JJazz and appreciate the suggestion. Thank you to all who have responded so far. I will continue to monitor this topic. I had checked the option to "Notify me of replies", but received no such notifications. Don't know why. My email address is on file. Stay safe!! Ken in Kansas

We may fine-tune things here and there to better suit actual usage, our main objective being to preserve and highlight quality information. 32. If you have auto cross fades on simply drag the edge of one clip over the other and a cross fade will be generated. Else, as mentioned above, in the upper corner of the clip grab the fade triangle and drag it where you want.

  36. No, John, My panel looks different, and when I talked with Tascam they told me it was a completely re-worked driver and that there was no other, older driver of theirs that would work with it. Perhaps this is related to the new "HR" functioning (which I assume means High Resolution) that allows you to set buffer size down to 4 samples! (if your machine can handle it.) And here's the final clue! I guess in all my troubleshooting I hadn't tried this before, missing the proverbial forest for the trees. If I set the sample rate to 44.1 in CW.... no more pops! Same with Windows Sound settings. Set it to 44.1 , all the pops go away with the browser issue (which is bizarre to me). Any setting other than 44.1k sample rate in either Windows or CW, and the Tascam driver seems to get confused. Bleh! So, a professional grade, brand new audio device and driver and I can only get it to work "right" with ASIO4ALL or in 44.1k only. Not gonna do it. @DeeringAmps For sure they've missed something. If I am really the only one to have this issue, given all my troubleshooting on two machines, I would have to start believing in some supernatural causes! And I'm not gonna do that either. It is mildly annoying that in my couple calls to Tascam they didn't want to try and figure something out, given that it's a new item/new driver out in the wild, as I say. So, yes, it's going back to them! (Both of them.) No problem there, I just got it. Now I'll get something else.

  38. I'm hoping they will see the light and have ten for $10 each. I am okay if some of the $10 offers are up to $14.95. I'm not sure if I'm ready to take the leap for $29.99 being my $10 yet. But give me time.

  40. i have my OneDrive and Google Drive on my D content drive. With the Google Drive you can pick folders outside of the base folder, OneDrive unfortunately only allows choices within the base folder. when setting up the OneDrive you need to unlink it after the initial install, then move the folder, and relink it and then point to the folder you moved. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/change-the-location-of-your-onedrive-folder-f386fb81-1461-40a7-be2c-712676b2c4ae

  41. This is a bit off topic. It's a response to Band in a box. There's this JJazzLab, a free backing track application. It needs three files installed: JJazzLab itself, VirtualMIDIsynth and JJazzLab soundfonts. I loaded a blues swing sng-file and changed the style, by rightclick menu in the style, to a bluegrass style at 142 bpm. It was f-ing awesome. Blues chord progression fits perfectly with the bluegrass instrumentation. And at that speed it was a groovy swing. As usual you can mute individual instruments.
