Congratulations you are the first of probably many people who will ask this question. Roland asked Cakewalk to remove TTS-1 from further versions of Cakewalk. So you are the first person to discover this. I will be releasing a video later today that will explain alternatives. This will only be apparent to new installs on a computer that had no prior versions installed. I’m going to test today using an older installer first. Then install the update. Many people will still have older versions as safety copies. I found a few in my old Download folder back ups . And most of us have the original Sonar so will not be affected. Only people who don’t have back ups who do a fresh install will be affected. But there’s alternatives which is what my video is about.

I've received many (sincere I hope) compliments, but since the topic seems to have gone toward the wah wah WAHHHH..... I was in Bath, England, in a small lightly populated pub one afternoon. Was chatting with the barman, a young chap, mentioned that my (proto grunge Faith No More-ish) band had just finished doing a demo in a studio. He showed interest in hearing what was coming out of San Francisco at that time (1990) and asked if he could play it on the pub's sound system. Joy! Halfway through the second song, a grumpy pub owner appeared and ordered him to turn it off, snapping "this isn't a heavy metal pub!" Well, it wasn't a heavy metal band either.... As for people's reactions to my music in general, well, I've always tried to remember that I make it so that it sounds good to me, that my own tastes have always been outside the mainstream, and that if anyone else at all likes it, that's a bonus. Even if someone's just pretending to like it, that's nice, that they like me enough to care about my feelings. The best/funniest times have been when friends have come to shows or listened to tracks out of a sense of duty, and I can tell that they are genuinely surprised that they like it. 😄 And @User 905133, I'd take the "good driving music" to be quite a compliment.

To my mind it would be an extremely small number of cases where different busses would require the same threshold & other parameters set on a compressor. They key word is require. You adjust the controls on a compressor in order to get the effect that the track, or in your case, group of tracks actually need. These will all be different. I fail to see how - for example - a drum bus would have the same settings as a vocal bus

Assuming that you don't want any XLN .aax files: On the XLN Audio Online Installer click on the hamburger on the top right corner then select "Change Installation Formats" then under the Formats tab uncheck AAX Same tweak if you don't want to install VST2 or VST3 versions.

Latency can also affect the amount of time between when you send a MIDI note, the VST receives it, and the VI plays the note back out as audible. Though up to 15 - 20 milliseconds can be functional for some folks. Most prefer less than 10ms RT.

If this were KONTAKT formatted libraries, it would be a no-brainer. Cinesamples does make excellent KONTAKT sample libraries. However, I'm less apt to invest in their proprietary sampler plugin and my guess -- based on their heavy discounting of their Musio line since they introduced it -- is that they're soon going to follow what's going on in their industry and heavily discount their older sample libraries for KONTAKT.

@Bill Crockett You have run as Administrator to enter the serial and register codes. You can easily get at your legacy account by asking Cakewalk support to help you. They can get at the server and update you log in. It’s well worth the bother.

Once the MIDI file has loaded, right click on the synth track then use "Replace Synth" to change it to the Roland Sound Canvas VA.
