Look at it this way. Since they announced it last June you realized the free ride was going to end. So you can start saving up for the day you might have to fork over a couple hundred bucks for Sonar. If you had put a dollar each day in a piggy bank you should have almost $250 in there by now. By the time Sonar is actually released you might have enough for the deluxe version and change left over for a Melodyne upgrade!4 points

FWIW, You do NOT want to disable Hyper-Threading. That was necessary many years back... with the very first implementation. Hasn't been necessary since Steinberg and other developers caught up (shortly after).3 points

Toby Keith as well. I'm not into Country, but he was pretty well known! 62 from stomach cancer I believe.2 points

It's definitely the online thing. If you are online and your PC can access the Cakewalk servers, you won’t get the pop up.2 points

There's most of the problem. 1) Do you really need 10 guitar tracks? 2) If so, you need to start freezing tracks b/c things like Guitar Rig are hungry suckers. 3) To reiterate what John said, you should think more about what processing you can eliminate rather than what you can add. Your mix will thank you.2 points

Believe it or not Addictive Drums seems to fit a lot of my mixes best and I haven't used EZ as much. I admit a lot of that could just be what I've gotten accustomed to. I'm not even a drummer but this suff fascinates me.2 points

If you put 8 DynIR cabs, normal price $80, you get 2 for free, so you are only charged for 6, normal price $60, but then you use the code " genome24 " and get 8 cabs for $44! That's $5.50 per cab, which is pretty reasonable for their quality and they claim that it is equivalent to 160,000 individual IR files. You can demo, and absolutely should, every cab that you are interested in and even save presets, even if you haven't purchased them, so you can quickly compare to determine which cabs you want. You do need either WoS or Genome to use DynIR. I think a great comparison cab with other personal IRs is their 4x12 Mesa Standard OS Slant cab. YMMV. https://www.two-notes.com/en/create-your-own-dynir-bundle-save-big/2 points

If the tracks are audio not midi drag a percussion track to the timeline and that creates a tempo map. There is also a tap tempo icon in the tempo inspector. ( the tool mentioned above)2 points

I share the solution to a problem that occurred to me this morning. It was impossible to open any project, as it would freeze in the saving phase (which appeared in the UI) and block any interaction. After several attempts, I started to isolate possible problems in my structure. I then remembered another case in the past in which I was able to recover the work and resume operation simply by disconnecting my audio interface from a TASCAM USB that showed no sign of a problem and even worked for other applications. Turning the USB audio interface off and on again did the trick for Cakewalk.1 point

Yep yesterday afternoon very weird I couldn’t open this forum or my HotMail. I could open Gmail and lots of other stuff. I rebooted computer and it worked. Who knows why but always a good trick. My Motu interface used to act up occasionally and I had to reboot whole system. So far it’s behaving on my new W11 machine. Computer/ Drivers/ OS , sometimes they play nice together sometimes they don’t get along.1 point

Oh... I didn't get this the first time around. I thought you meant you would turn 11 that year. And I know how some people are about their age. Give them a inch and they get all upset!! So in the heat of posting I just made an assumption.... my bad!!1 point

There is not, however you can drag individual tabs outside the Multidock and arrange them as you wish. So you could have one window with Console, another with Piano Roll, or one with Event Viewer and Piano Roll in the Multidock and another with Console. And so on. The thing you can't do is have two windows with multiple tabs.1 point

Right-click on the Master bus and set it as the default bus. Do this on any new templates or projects you create before working on the project. I don't recall if it is retroactive, though.1 point
