  1. It is more of a delay with the ability to set diffused sounds that get into reverb territory. I've had the smaller version for many years due to a giveaway and find it still quite useful and unique even though I have a number of heavy hitter delays and reverbs. Wouldn't pay $30 for it given what I have, but certainly has its place for me.

  9. FYI - There have been lots of updates to the compressor, it's at v2.0.1 now. The visualization engine was moved almost entirely to GLSL and you can now configure detailed layout settings. By default, the compressor will automatically adapt to use visualization settings appropriate for the current raster type etc ("AUTO" setting). But you can adjust the layout to show for example only the source signal, or you can overlap the output onto the source, etc. The knee behavior has been improved for all modes as well. Now the knee regions use hermite interpolation for a smoother compression/expansion curve. You can also more quickly switch the output type between normal/bypass/delta as they are now individual buttons instead of a drop-down. Lots more little fixes and improvements, as usual you can see the full list of changes on the download page.

  17. Apparently they're working on a preset browser. I got this email in April this year when I asked if there's a chance of having an improved preset browser in the future: It's also a very requested feature on their KVR Forum, so I trust they'll give it a high priority. I love how the design/user interface doesn't feel outdated at all. Timeless synth. Highly recommended preset bundle for Sylenth1: Sylenth1 Bundle by Cartel Loops, currently only $9.95 at Producer Spot. It contains 17 soundbanks with a total of 826 presets. I've got it and I like quite a lot of the presets.

  18. True An old synth is still an old synth, but still sounds damn good. I would love to see a preset manager implemented in the future with a way to save or tag my favorite presets.

  31. Okay, I'm not knowledgeable enough to have a valid opinion on this, so I'm going to trust that you guys (mainly jngnz and Bapu) know this stuff and buy it. Seriously. It's $19 USD for me. I Iooked up a review from Mix Magazine and watched a video where Matt Lange showered praise on it and said he uses it on practically everything he does.

  33. 🤔?? But it was released years ago and so it must be garbage, right? Newer stuff by less experienced programmers at underfunded companies must surely be releasing superior products. and besides - how can it be the best if I already own it?? You're just depriving me of excuses to enlarge my plugin collection with more items I'll never get around to using. Doesn't that violate the ethics of this forum?

  35. My main DAW is a desktop with a decent interface. However, there was a time where I would use my laptop to compose on during dead time, where I dropped one kid off at an activity and it's not worth it to do anything else but kill some time at a coffee shop. In these cases I might not have wanted to lug around a spare interface and didn't have a ton of USB slots to spare. On top of that I wouldn't want to bring my guitar with me and I doubt anyone in the coffee shop wanted me to sing, giving me no reason to need audio input. In that case ASIO4ALL was a perfect solution.

  41. To record I create an aux track, pre-fader, and enable recording on the aux track and pull the fader down on the input track. If you're looping that will record your performance. That should get you started. From there you have all the features of MSuperLooper.

  42. Miss Ukraine wishes you boys are Merry Christmas Don't be fooled by her one bit . The rifle is only a prop she used to go shopping for her new bass guitar 😉 After she lost her looks she became a mild manner old broad with out many options to get wined and dined in return for trading nookie favors . Nor did she have the ability to meet her material wants and desires to keep up with some of the more high profile forum elite members here . When she found out the local pawn shop had an Alembic Bass in the window , she decided to hold the place up and get The Alembic Bass . This was to be her 2023 Christmas gift to herself .. Don't believe me ? Here' s her 2023 Christmas card . Kenny PS she does keep some rather strange company😁

  44. Got around to adding an update check tab to the compressor. It's always a manual check, never automatic. Just switch to the update tab and click "Check for updates" and it will list the latest version available vs which version you're running. Release notes since v1.9.8: - Improve visualization rect cropping glitch - Update tab for checking latest product versions - Additional minor fixes and improvements - Fix transfer function visualization for gate - Improve quick-access layout - Improve panel and other layout elements - Fix look-ahead behavior in some cases

  45. 👀 LUFS is an industry standard, and fortunately there is an open source and commercially friendly implementation (libebur128). The main motivation behind the compressor was to make use of this in a compressor/expander since RMS and Peak are completely ubiquitous in the industry for those tools yet they don’t take human loudness perception into account. I’ve thought that was a glaring blind spot for the past few years and that ended up being enough motivation to start doing plug-in dev after getting laid off about a year ago at the same time as having some health issues. To be honest, I’m pretty new to audio engineering in general. But I worked on video codecs for a decade and this path felt right. Hoping to improve over time. It’s super exciting to see people start to use the tool and give feedback. Love the criticism as much as the compliments. - Aaron (apu software solo founder)
