  1. I just want to give a shout out to Arturia Customer Support. I bought a second hand Minilab Mk2 on eBay. Of course, the keyboard and the software had already been licensed to the original owner, but I thought I'd reach out to Arturia and ask if they could help out. In less than 24 hours I had my keyboard licensed, and licenses for all the bundled software and freebies that came with the original keyboard. This is amazing customer support if you consider that they will not be making any profit on this sale. Well done Arturia

  3. I have only positive things to say about their software (synths, FX) and hardware (MiniLab controllers and MiniFuse interface). All perfect. And their support is second to none. I consider Arturia to be one of the finest examples in music production.

  5. I picked up the Manley VOXBOX Channel Strip and excited to check that out. What I was happily surprised is that one of the FREEBIES when ordering through Plugin Boutique is DAWSOMES LOVE multi effect. I have played with it briefly and there is a lot of potential and to "Love" about it. And the $49 essentials is a great deal, especially with all of the extra compressor models. Thanks for the heads up @satya

  6. They're really good! It's kinda interesting to see that like 10 years ago Arturia was seen like a 'meh' company, and NI was quite a powerhouse back then, and now the things reversed

  9. And it's 'based on', not repackaged. i.e. the modifications have been made - code changes (bug fixes, improvements/enhancements), presets added, etc.. People appear to be upset that DiscoDSP didn't contribute open source code regarding the original or maybe it's just that DiscoDSP isn't free. Personally I don't see what the fuss is about - if you want to use the 7 year old v1.0 version of software with no presets use the 2Dat version, if you want the one with the latest fixes/tweaks and included presets buy the discoDSP version or that of another developer. FWIW - I don't use either. I have OP-X PRO-II by SonicProjects and the Arturia versions.

  10. @smallstonefan long time BFD user. updates to BFD3 have been minor at best. any significant changes, improvements, rumours of a BFD4, etc have been very slow in coming. the only thing they've spent time on (apparently) is releasing a free player. -if- everything is working fine for you as is, i would -not- recommend the downgrade to the current InMusic version. the two biggest issues imo are: 1) the InMusic DRM -requires- online re-authorization every 90 days or less. it's improved since the initial rollout, but still less than perfect. if you have reliable 24/7 online access, it's not that big of a deal to reauthorize, -unless- the InMusic servers are acting up. If you do any sort of remote/location/live work, forget it. 2) Once you make the switch. -all- of your prior investment in expansions gets hijacked by the new InMusic DRM. you no longer own it per the original license and it is now only as good as InMusic's capability to support it. they seem to be living down to their reputation... fwiw, i keep a dedicated rack mount server to run everything purchased & installed prior to InMusic. they are still the best sounding (by far) for my needs.

  11. Been a bit dry on the creative side .. so been going through the back cat of my old stuff using Ozone 10 THE WITCH SupaReels Music There was a time, not so long ago When she could dance in fields of grass When the night was the only friend she knew And no one cared and no one saw She stole his heart on a moonlit night He's eyes enchanted by the light In vales of darkness she began to see A dance of grace, then she whispered “ Come with me” ….... Taking all the world and the hate that's in their minds Would you really have the time to say goodbye Thoughts now in your head for the living and the dead You don't know what's going on behind your back Look behind you ! Look around you! You'll see I'm right She showed him all mankind's history The wars and peace, greed and harmony Now he sees … For way beyond the realms of time and space he cries a tear for all those in his place

  13. 40 years ago almost to the day I bought Diary of a Madman, my very first LP - and my life was changed. Since then, I have purchased more copies of that album than any other, in almost every format, the more recent being the Legacy Edition CD, 10 years ago, and again, coincidentally, almost to the day (11/27). Tonight, I logged in to work and found a gift card in my inbox. My first thought was: vinyl. The second was: Diary of a Madman. The O in OCD stands for Ozzy I guess.

  14. Just a nudge to check out the Audio Assault Air Rack that I mentioned earlier in the thread? Even though its now $9.99 (still on sale, but not the BF** $5 price I mentioned at the time) it looks like it ticks off all the boxes people have mentioned as desirable in an IR handler except for tone matching: IR Mixer with Tweakable Mic Position Serial/Parallel IR Processing IR Export Function Deconvolver Unlimited Slots FREE IR Library Included (can use your own as well) Resizable GUI EQ phase delay normalizer panning etc. **web site says BF sale is still on but when I tried code just a couple of minutes ago it wasn't working for me. Edit: 12/4 Other people have reported that code is working.

  15. This is most likely related to a hang in the drivers for your Audio interface. You can look for updated drivers, or cycle power (ie: disconnect) it for a few moments to pin this down. If you save & close the project session first, then close CbB, does it still hang?

  18. My first album was a Beatles album. I don't recall which one. My father gave me his record collection before I bought my own first album. But I do recall the first 45that I bought. It was an EP iirc. It was Elvis with Hound Dog and 3 other songs on it I think. 45's were 97 cents each at K-Mart at the time. For Christmas I always got Kiss and Beatles LP's.

  20. https://www.soniccouture.com/en/products/g82-ac-dr-acoustic-drum-machine/ Soniccoture have release AC-DR, an acoustic drum machine for Kontakt, available at the intro price of $104.30, increasing to $149.00 after the promotion. The offer ends December 29th. Soniccoture wanted to make an old school-style drum machine. But they wanted to do it with 21st century sampling techniques: round-robin samples, multi-channel sounds, generative sequencers. Drums that sound chunky, dry & tight – but also chatter with life.

  25. I just had to post one more time. Just wow. I figured this would cost hundreds. I was shocked. Thanks again Fleer!! What does Bapu say - got it! The only thing I don’t like is that when long sustained notes decrescendo, the vibrato should lessen. Otherwise very good.

  27. In fairness to DiscoDSP they do mention it at bottom of the OX-XD page: "Credit and Licensing OB-Xd is a software synthesizer developed under a commercial license granted by Vadim Filatov, also known as 2Dat. All rights and permissions for the use of OB-Xd have been lawfully obtained in accordance with the terms of the license agreement."

  32. maybe it's a permission issue to the file or folder? the INI file is in the C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core folder. rename it so you can recover it if necessary. what is the VST you're trying to record? of course running Windows 7 may be a bit long in the tooth nowadays as well...

  34. Well said. And I mean it was a struggle. Hours upon hours upon hours.... but it's there... in my soul! The lead to Hotel California is my "Stairway" moment. Back when I learned it I didnt have a DAW so there was no ripping and looping a section to slow it down, learn it, and practice it. It took me years of playing it live to perfect it to sound as close to the original as I could with just me on a single guitar. There's multiole guitars in the original. Nobody even attempted that song in our area. We were the only band to do it. One thing that stands out in my mind about it is, after I got to the point where I could play it live. We were at our first band practice attempting to do it all together and the singer said, "Man I can't sing it that high. We have to drop it a step and pick up the tempo a little.". I almost had a freaking heart attack and I had to learn it all over again in a different key and then play it faster. It's one of those things that, like you guys said, it becomes part of you. I don't even know what I'm playing, it's instinct and muscle memory at this point. I could never tab it out or teach someone how to play it. I just know that when the break happens and it's my cue to go, I go no matter what anyone else is doing and they can come along for the ride. I'm very proud of the fact that I can play that lead and it sounds as close to the original as it can with a single guitar.

  35. My first vinyl was fantastic. No, really! Zoom in for the mega-stars of 1973 . . . But before this, I had listened to my older sister's vinyl that she left at home when she went to college . . . And if you put these two together, it leads me to my first proper rock album?

  40. If you search the topic for "2dat" you'll find some posts about this. Such as: Apparently, DiscoDSP forked the original source code and based their version on that.

  41. I saw this when you mentioned it in the "Show us your booty" thread so I've been demoing it. While it might be a bit pricey, IMHO it's the one to beat. It's pretty full-featured. My favorite part is when you want to try out an IR you just drag and drop it. Voila, there it is. No menus, no folder searches, no fuss. It's really well thought out and implemented.

  44. I was looking at my AudioThing account because I'm wondering about the freebie at ADSR - Wave Box. I checked my account and I can upgrade my "Things Bundle" (??) and pick up the new Voice for only $8.17! (SOLD!) I've maybe bought a couple of the Things in the bundle, but the most were were freebies I think. So check your AudioThing accounts for "offers".... https://www.audiothing.net/bundle/things-bundle/

  45. I have been using Vegas Pro 14 that came with a Humble Bundle several years ago. As a user of DAW's I found after watching a bunch of YouTube videos that I could accomplish everything I needed. To create a live video of our band I took video from multiple phones and multitrack off the board and synced them up and edited it into a nice live band video. I'm going to buy this bundle to get up to v19.
