  3. now two more virus scanners are showing the installer as malicious - including Google and why aren't IKM signing their installers ? tagging: @Peter - IK Multimedia not only does this update remove authorisations (lots of reports on the IKM forum) - but also flagging as malicious. You might want to pass this along to your developers ?

  5. Craig’s post form another discussion got me thinking about gear that I had to let go of. This was in early 2019. The only thing left are the Les Paul Studio and the Fender Strat. These are the ones that are absolutely irreplaceable. The rest of the gear was mostly just average, inexpensive stuff. The second half of 2019 and 2020 hit pretty hard and I had to let go of a lot of gear and studio stuff, like my Pro Tools mixing surface (Command 8). I do regret having to sell the Marshall, but there was nothing unique about it. I can buy one just like it if I want to. I miss having a bass, but that’s also a simple fix. The acoustic and the Riviera I could not longer play due to the angle at which they put my right shoulder. The black Epiphone Les Paul had something special about it. It was one of those Epi’s which was somehow way better than it should have been considering its price and pedigree. But it’s not entirely irreplaceable, and the white Les Paul covers my needs. But that SGJ on the floor I’ll forever miss. I’d purchased a SG Standard that spring, with better pickups, locking tuners and all the nice stuff, so when hard time hit and I had to let some things go, I figured it would do. And it does sound 10 times better. But the SGJ was just magic. And it had a 50’s rounded neck, which is quite uncommon as far as I know. For some reason, even though it was very light, unlike most other SG’s I’ve played, it also felt extremely solid - that rounded neck may have had a lot to do with it. It was just the best guitar to sit in front of the tv with and just jam and practice. And it relic’ed just by me looking at it. There’s a couple of Marshall I had to let go earlier in my life that I miss, but that SGJ really takes the top spot. I’d probably buy it back for double what I sold it in a heartbeat (which still wouldn't be that bad because I let it go for peanuts,

It’s perfect for whenever an engineer wants to fix or shape audio, or make tracks stand out in a mix, regardless of the audio source. For PSP ConsoleQ version 2, we have added a smooth frequency control for all bands, numerical value displays, and the PSP Spector PSPEC-31 module – which combines the 31 band analyzer with equalization graphing to offer an alternative way to control filters. $29 https://www.pspaudioware.com/products/psp-consoleq

  12. It's about time! I can't remember how long it's been since I said "What we really need is another Piano Library"!
    3 points
  13. I'd suggest that you spend time listening to the tone and character of the demos to make a decision that's right for you. We can all tell you about technical aspects and our subjective opinions, only you can decide if you love the sound of a certain sample library and the reality is, even when developers sample the same piano model, there are so many other factors, that they may sound and play very differently. One basic fact about Sampletekk pianos is that they don't include a bunch of patches or snapshots, like you get with the NI pianos. I wish they did. But they are good quality libraries and at this price, they're a great value.

  14. Interesting move from IKM. As much as I love some of their other instruments (B3) and effects (Sunset Sounds Studio Reverb), they're pitching this at an odd level. Before I'd bite on any of these, they'd have to convince me they're absolutely light years ahead of the Sampletank pianos, because even the add-on ones aren't any better than OK.

  16. Found out about this at the last minute. Damn! I'm a big Klevgrand fan. I started buying a lot of them back when I was making music on the iPad. Like an idiot, I started watching Tove's videos. https://klevgrand.com/stories/toves-tutorials Got Skaka and Pipa. It's true that I have wanted both of them for a long time and these are good prices. Also, whatever music software company offers gift wrapping?

  19. Next is out and in BETA mode and for the past 24hrs I have been testing and creating some tracks. So far i am liking the look and feel. What i am most impressed with it, is the fact that it handles live performances ten times better than CbB. I was jamming with it, did some DJ work with it and for two hours straight it held its own on major projects. That is a huge positive side to it - really impressed! It took me 5mins to figure out its workflow. I love the new Sampler and Xsampler features. Great new stock plugins. Everything is so straight forward, but there are some downsides, drawbacks, cons (what ever you want to call it) to some features that can be improved. Such as the Track Pane that is not Scalable. It crops the window/pane instead of resizing the plugins and effects on it to smaller. The height is perfect though. Also theirs NO console? Perhaps I have missed this one, but I couldnt find it. Arranger Pane is there for those who use it. I wont use it as a main DAW though, but for mobility use like writting demos or features when collaborating while travelling - for sure! For now i am still testing it out looking for features that might have a different names and taps. Heres what i can tell you upfront! Its gona pick up popularity with the EDM community! I already have gotten one other producer to try it out.

  22. The last 7 plugins I was missing from the pack were at that price by using 50+25. Before that I had gnawed the cost of the pack by using those weekly & thank you vouchers on the plugins featured inside it. I suppose playing the slow game where I would have gotten a few more of them would have made it even cheaper, but since you never know what companies do, I thought that the current price point was good enough for me. Maybe Black Friday would have brought more savings as well.

  23. That functionality was suggested, it's not part of IK PM now but if you for whatever reason cannot unauthorize because you no longer have access to a computer and run out the team will assist you (as they did with 10 when it happened more frequently when there was no unauth functionality). But yes, I and others have relayed and also agreed with allowing to unauthorize without having access to the computer. And it was bumped again due to this.

  24. You should have started a new thread you’ll be lucky if anyone makes it this far. And the solution is not uninstalling. The solution is patients. I just installed the update to a extra laptop and I got the message too. I clicked on the activation in help menu and noticed that nothing happened. I ignored this and distracted myself with tuning my guitar and miking my amp. About 5 minutes went by and I got the green light. This is normal. You uninstall now you have a bigger mess to clean up. Good luck. It’s beyond me why the first thing people do when troubleshooting is re install the software. It’s rarely the solution. Software is spread all over your system when it installs. It’s very tricky to totally erase ever last tidbit.

  26. Well.... I have only 1 unused code. But as they don't expire and I have at least 5 other limiters already (and ATM I'm just using the sonible one anyway) I think it'll be wise to wait for a more useful plugin. But I understand you. If I had more codes I'd probably used some to get the Neold plugins that I don't have yet. YMMV.

  28. Exactly what I thought. I listened to the demos and they don't sound like anything I want or need for the type of music that I want to make. And I don't get impressed by huge discounts. Not in the audio software industry.

  30. The last date to get Caprakan or Orakle X is today - the rest are October 1st Although this seems an unmissable bargain, after listening to all the preset demos from each instrument and most of the demo music they all seem a bit meh unless being used for sound design in films. Anyone think the same?

  32. Agreed. SampleTank pianos are nowhere near the same league as good KONTAKT piano libraries. Even the NI piano libraries that come with KOMPLETE Standard are far superior to the ones for SampleTank. NI's Noir, included with KOMPLETE Standard, is my go to acoustic grand piano and I own a good deal of piano libraries from various KONTAKT developers, but Noire is just gorgeous to my ears. It was actually made for NI by Galaxy Instruments, FTR.

Love how they have the 'How To's' and video tutorials etc well and truly under control. Just an awesome team with an awesome product 👍

  34. Shut down CbB, and navigate to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core Search on *.cxa to find two files in a hidden Command Center directory and delete them. Restart CbB, sign in again if prompted and it should refresh activation successfully.

  36. For the $50 yeah... gotta spend $89 to use it. But once you have a $25 "Thank You" coupon you can stack it and the $50 coupon and use both... as long as whatever you pick is at least $89. A lot of thier good plugins are on sale for $89, $99, & $124.

  39. @limpet if you cannot sign in then activation will not work. There have been zero changes to sign in for this release. Close your browser first and then click sign in in the help menu. If that doesn't launch a browser window then something on your system is blocking that (likely an AV setting) and you will have to resolve this issue first.

  42. It depends on the plugin. The Brainworx ones and all the ones that Plugin Alliance does (apart from a couple) are identical code, so there's absolutely no difference. Same with Sonnox. I suspect it's quite likely the same with Softube as well. For the UA branded stuff which they've made native, as the others I've mentioned aren't native via UA yet (possibly ever?), I would say they're at least on par at worst case with most of the Waves ones, but never any WUP to pay ever again 🙂 I've replaced the Waves CLA76 with the UA1176. It responds and sounds very similar. The Pultec I prefer to the Waves version. CPU usage seems OK.

  43. Hey, great job on this Keith! Really well composed, produced and performed. Excellent guitar work, overall sound is good, but seems like the lead section could perhaps be a little more upfront. Maybe cut the reverb a bit or make it less roomy sounding. Really loved the backwards piano at the beginning!

  45. https://www.bitwig.com/stories/bitwig-and-presonus-are-making-it-easy-to-share-projects-between-programs-271 Bitwig and PreSonus have announced a new format for project files that allows for easy exchanges between different programs. As of today it is supported in Bitwig Studio 5.0.9 and Studio One 6.5. DAWproject is the latest Bitwig-led initiative aimed at connecting our music technology industry and giving musicians more freedom. It follows the 2022 launch of CLAP, the free and open plugin standard launched last year in collaboration with u-he. “Every DAW is different, and that is a strength of our industry. Allowing users to take their work between programs is now easier than ever — and the right thing to do.”, says Claes Johanson, Bitwig co-founder and lead developer of DAWproject. Arnd Kaiser, General Manager at PreSonus Software: “Our vision for Studio One has always been to eliminate workflow barriers and enable users to collaborate. With DAWproject, we are thrilled to introduce a new open format that allows users of different DAWs to work together seamlessly for the first time. We are proud to launch this groundbreaking new format in partnership with Bitwig.” Music producers often work with multiple Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs). Some seek inspiration through new features and technologies, while others use different programs for different stages of their production and/or performance process. Unfortunately, no exchange format existed that allowed for sharing projects between DAWs, forcing users to export and re-import audio stems instead. DAWproject is an open and free file format that makes it much easier to move from one DAW to another, enabling producers to choose their preferred DAW for specific tasks. No more complex and time consuming procedures for moving projects, converting formats, and exporting or importing — DAWproject files include all the most important information in a DAW-agnostic format.
