  2. https://puremagnetik.com/products/voculon-3000-ableton-live-pack-kontakt-and-logic-sample-library This week only, Puremagnetik is giving away their beautiful Voculon 3000 – a “retro-futuristic” vocal machine that can bring you into some alternate timeline, at least for a little while. The sample files are in there, too, so you can drop this into any software or gear. But there are also tastefully constructed machines to use in Ableton Live (as a Pack), Kontakt (with custom KSP UI), and Logic (for EXS24, which is now known as just “Sampler”).

  6. https://www.bitwig.com/stories/bitwig-and-presonus-are-making-it-easy-to-share-projects-between-programs-271 Bitwig and PreSonus have announced a new format for project files that allows for easy exchanges between different programs. As of today it is supported in Bitwig Studio 5.0.9 and Studio One 6.5. DAWproject is the latest Bitwig-led initiative aimed at connecting our music technology industry and giving musicians more freedom. It follows the 2022 launch of CLAP, the free and open plugin standard launched last year in collaboration with u-he. “Every DAW is different, and that is a strength of our industry. Allowing users to take their work between programs is now easier than ever — and the right thing to do.”, says Claes Johanson, Bitwig co-founder and lead developer of DAWproject. Arnd Kaiser, General Manager at PreSonus Software: “Our vision for Studio One has always been to eliminate workflow barriers and enable users to collaborate. With DAWproject, we are thrilled to introduce a new open format that allows users of different DAWs to work together seamlessly for the first time. We are proud to launch this groundbreaking new format in partnership with Bitwig.” Music producers often work with multiple Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs). Some seek inspiration through new features and technologies, while others use different programs for different stages of their production and/or performance process. Unfortunately, no exchange format existed that allowed for sharing projects between DAWs, forcing users to export and re-import audio stems instead. DAWproject is an open and free file format that makes it much easier to move from one DAW to another, enabling producers to choose their preferred DAW for specific tasks. No more complex and time consuming procedures for moving projects, converting formats, and exporting or importing — DAWproject files include all the most important information in a DAW-agnostic format.

  16. I got a thankyou code and this one, combined I can get the Fairchild for €22. I'm tempted... Edit: fine, I'll do it. I'm not going to wait on another glitch to get it cheaper. That only leaves the 2A on my wantlist. And perhaps both the Hitsville thingies and the 3A, but I have the Acustica Audio Rust Motor EQ (I think that's the Hitsville EQ) and the IK Sunset reverb which is kinda similar (and I use that one a lot). And I have a 2A/3A from Overloud.

  28. I Think it's solved, and as many pointed out, apparently it was system specific to my PC. It seems to be that an update of the graphic driver went wrong: windows update made a regression to their generic drive, and that one seems to be faulty. I was unable to reinstall the driver, windows won't let it happen, so I contacted AMD support and they suggested to make a clean install of their driver, using their own software. The driver was successfully installed then, and CW is no longer hanging when drawing tempo in the tempo view, at least by now. Hope it keeps stable. Thank you all for your help!!

  29. 3.6.0 - 2023-09-25 Uninstall is here for NKS instruments and expansions! This should cover 80% of our product base and should make your debugging and product management lives a little easier. We recognize we still have to do this for apps and plugins, and we’ll get to those in the future. Importantly, MacOS X 10.15 is officially deprecated. Current users shouldn’t be getting an update, and for those users who don’t want to auto update, you can browse the legacy installers to get a locked version. On top of this, we’ve made a few extra quality of life improvements and fixed a few other bugs that we’ve now been able to detect. We look forward to receiving feedback on the uninstall feature! REMOVED Deprecated support for MacOS X 10.15 ADDED/IMPROVED Uninstall for Content Products (Instruments & Expansions) for both Windows and Mac Checklist version of the existing manual uninstall guide embedded inside of a product’s options menu for unsupported products FIXED Resolved an issue where products were unnecessarily activated after being connected to an external hard drive Addressed a case where the NTK Daemon would crash when it’s being powered down Addressed a case where the NTK Daemon would crash when mounting HDDs on MacOS When activation tokens fail to activate, we now remove them to allow for a fresh retry Addressed an issue where Player products failed to upgrade Usage data reminder for new users now links to the correct page in the preferences Reinstall is no longer offered for unavailable products Error message points to users to the correct page in preference when they need to review their download locations Addressed a rare case where products disappear from Native Access

  31. Thanks for the explanation. Your workflow makes sense. I am resisting the great temptation to suggest taking the time to learn staff notation. If your workflow works for you, maybe you'd prefer to make music than to learn notation. I have seen many synth plugins that have a piano-style keyboard in the UI. I haven't looked to see if they also display the notes when a track is played back. If they did and you had them set to a non-sounding patch/preset, that might work. On my older Audio PC I have a virtual controller that uses a piano-style keyboard. I am not sure, but that might also work. MeldaProduction's MTuner (part of their MFreeFXBundle) might interest you for a couple of features it has. I haven't tried this yet but possibly the audio from your library might be routed to MTuner so you can see the names of the notes from the audio played (ear training). Just a thought.

  34. and as a note: do not install discord on your PC, it takes over your system and is very hard to get rid of without a wipe and re-install of the OS and your apps... the discord web version is fine, and is designed for a younger crowd anyways... 🙂

  44. I believe the question is something like this: "If I press the sequence of A-S-F-G-H-J-K on a virtual keyboard to record notes into Cakewalk, is there a virtual keyboard tool I can use to see the sequence of A-S-F-G-H-J-K light up when Cakewalk plays the sequence back?"
