  1. So they reacted to the bad reception of the new voucher limits by making vouchers entirely useless and in turn making sales worthless as well. I'm conditioned to pay a maximum of $15 for a PA plugin and around $30 for the newest stuff only. Needless to say, I haven't bought a PA plugin in months, whereas it used to be like 2-3 a month on average. I imagine the same is true for quite a lot of people. They really shot themselves in the foot with all of these attempts. And Dirk being all "trust us, it's going to be amazing!!!" on Facebook just comes off as laughable.

  2. Cakewalk has build-in MIDI arp. In addition to "usual" for arps sequences, it can use custom note sequences as the basis. The only supported format for these sequences is PTN. Cakewalk by itself can load PTN files, as MIDI clips and as a part of arp configuration. Cakewalk also can save arp configuration (including the pattern) into ARP files. But for some (which?) reason Cakewalk can't create PTN files nor extract them from ARP files. The following utility tries to provide missed functionality. It is command line program which accept single file name as the argument: if the argument has an extension "arp" (or "ARP"), it tries to extract PTN file from it. The extraction is verbatim (PTN files are saved "as is" in ARP files) if the argument has an extension "mid" (or "MID"), it tries convert it into PTN file. Note that conversion is not "1 to 1", only Notes, Wheel and CC events are converted and all other parameters in resulting PTN file are constant (I don't know what they specify). In my tests that is sufficient for arp operations, please let me know if I have overseen something (I mean the result does not work as expected) Background information about PTN files. PTN are "Project 5" proprietary format to store MIDI clips. In general it seems like the format support all information in MIDI clips (and some extra, f.e. flam). But only a part of that information is used by Cakewalk arp. Converting MIDI clip into PTN. Prepare a MIDI clip, by loading existing PTN file (f.e. File/Import/MIDI..., select "P5 pattern" as file type) or from scratch. Original tempo will be reproduced with 1/32 setting in the arp (note that factory ARP do not follow that rule, so even if you load PTN extracted from an ARP into the same ARP, the tempo can be different). The first note defines the "origin" for transposing the whole clip according to actual note on the track. Select the clip. File/Export.../MIDI groove clip. Use the utility with created MID file name as parameter.

  6. Yep. Now let me come clean and say that the plugins I got from PA are really great stuff. Just because I ain't buying from them doesn't mean they have bad stuff. Far from it. They just ain't serving anything I want. That's what has changed.

  7. I usually purchase these amazing libraries for 30% or 40% during Black Friday. Highly recommended and full NKS implementation. Just like using the real thing. I own quite a few of the real modules and use these lately instead.

I adlibbed the leads but tried to hit some of the high points. Any advice on the mix would be Greatly appreciated. Thank You .. mark This is a REMIX Thanks for your help ! mark

  16. Yeah times have definitely changed. I hardly pay attention to their sales any more. I do wonder if they'll keep it up, or eventually start having proper sales like they used to which will make people flock back and buy heaps again. But the alternative is they just keep crap sales and try (unsuccessfully at least in my case) to get everyone on subs. I was there for the good days though and have most of what I wanted so I'll just be buying from some of the other great Devs I haven't bought much from yet.

  17. @Dream Art Scientists @Lynn Wilson @Riff Richards @noynekker , Thanks so much for the listen and Great comments! @Wookiee @jwnicholson78 I've done a remix but waiting until I'm really sure of it before posting. The kick , snare and drum bus eq were adjusted. I think it sounds a lot better. @Old Joad @Bajan Blue The rough Havens like vocals were the result of singing the song over a couple of days starting each session at 4:30 am. I spent a good bit of time during the remix trying to bring up the trailing end of words and passages. @garybrun once suggested I ride the vocal fader during mixing to bring up the tails where I usually loose power . It was real apparent on this one. Thanks to Everyone ! I'll post a remix soon. mark

  27. I'm aware but all the ex store stuff has been small developers. IKM is one of the largest in the industry and don't exactly need the "marketing" the pop up store provides. Audiority is awesome but also not exactly a household name and even they are bigger than some of the others that hit the store.

  30. hey hockeyjx! thanks for listening and commenting yea, bass was too low, i'm working on that one. i have two tracks of bass, summed to mono, and one is clean and midrangy, the other is low... i've placed a tape emulator across the midrangy bass track, which has compressed it slightly, and overdriven it slightly, and when mixed with the other track, has fattened the bass up nicely and made it a bit more aggressive. that should 'beef' it up a bit like your suggesting. i don't want to add any more instrumentation, because i feel it's already busy enough, and i'm looking for skinnier mixes for this particular set of songs to go on a new album. but, if i didn't pan the rythm guitars hard left right, and brought them inwards a smidge, that changes the entire 'thickness' of the track, without quite as much separation... i'm on the fence about that move, because it's so clear right now... but THAT might make the mix seem more thick, without adding anything. food for thought, thanks!

('bout as far as I should go given the TOS here on the forum. Please, lets not go down that path...) t And a quick note, the link seems to be jumping to the 6 second mark. There's that little "box" you can ✔️ when you "share" to make the link hit a "mark"; maybe you checked it. I don't think I've asked before, should I refer to you as p? As in who is p? or whoisp? Serious question, not trying to be flippant or funny

  34. I think this is the best song I've heard from you, Larry. Minimal but packs in a lot of visuals for me. Love the guitar riff and tempo change ~ 0:40 with other instruments coming in. Well done. -Bjorn

  35. I listened. I survived and hearing is unimpaired, best I can tell. Wookies should sing more often. Turns out their vocals are rather engaging. I was intrigued (and impressed) by this :

  36. Hi Larry . . . so glad I stopped by this one, very laid back listen for my Sunday evening . . . really enjoyed the organic nature of this, and effective how you moved between the harmonica and the arp synth solos a few times . . . are you playing a twelve string acoustic guitar ?, at least that's what I'm hearing. (Also, great that you credited Mike @ Creative Sauce . . . he certainly deserves some credit on my stuff as well)
