  1. Appears they updated all plug-ins to fix a VST3 crash issue In CbB, Eventide VST3 plug-ins would crash when changing interleave. While Noel coded around the problem, Eventide was researching a solution. I believe this is it. Installers available from https://www.eventideaudio.com/support/downloads Some plug-ins also got new artist presets. Update: Newfangled Audio updates hit after this post so I modified the subject line. The link is the same. Fixed the installer preset problem and a problem launching the manual from the program.

  5. Some will scoff at Behringer products (mostly from their past - many times well deserved)... but they've been releasing some good/great gear of late. If you miss the venerable Mini-Moog, you have to check out the Poly D. https://www.behringer.com/Categories/Behringer/Keyboards/Synthesizers-and-Samplers/POLY-D/p/P0D9J#googtrans(en|en) I used to have an early Model-D. It needed service bad... and sat for many years until I sold it (in a moment of weakness). Have always regretted selling it. The Mini-Moog doesn't do a lot (compared to todays hardware/software synths), but what it does do... it sounds glorious. I like to think of it as the exact opposite of many of today's more advanced/technical instruments. You can dial-up a classic bass or lead tone super quick. Though it's relatively simple in architecture, nothing (to me) sounds quite like the Mini-Moog. For lack of a better way to put it, you can almost hear the electricity in the sounds. To my ears, the Poly D isn't quite as fat sounding as the real Mini-Moog, but it's pretty close. Poly D is far far far more stable on the tuning side! Filter is really nice. I turned on the Poly D... and dialed up a lead type sound in probably 30 seconds. Think Tom Sawyer or Subdivisions... and that's in the ballpark. The action on the keyboard lends itself to playing fast lead lines. Get your Rick Wakeman and Jan Hammer fix! Might be the sentimental old man in me... but I really love the Poly D. Just a blast to play... Got it sitting on a rack in the studio... and I keep stopping to play it. I've got to get work done. Might have to switch it off. 😁

  7. JJShop celebrates their anniversaries every year by selling lots of stuff for the number of years in $$. Many of you remember the great $20 deals. One was AAS's great Objeq Delay. Sadly now everything is going to be $22. 🙁 That price is going to keep creeping up until the deals aren't so crazy any more. You can see what they have up now HERE Nothing that's shooting lightning through my head (yet) so I can hold on to my $$ for the time being. But they will keep changing it. I'm sure @cclarry will keep us updated.

  8. I can confirm that the status of "Show Aim Assist Time" seems to be randomly set at startup. Workspace set to None The visibility of Aim Assist is global, and is stored in the registry. In other words it's not tied to any project or workspace - it remembers the last "state" it was in from the last time you used it. The show Aim Assist Time however, doesn't seem to be being stored anywhere, which is why it's behaving randomly. This will be fixed for the next release so it behaves like the Aim Assist on/off - so it will be global and remember its state from the last time you used it.

  9. I got this. For me, it was totally worth the money. There is a lot of great material in it that can be customized to taste. It is so much more than a loop library. I wanted to get this up while the sale was still on, but I had trouble with my download. Time-Life came through, but I lost time. I have two comments. First, some genres have a lot of content and others, like Brazilian, have much less. But there's enough to make it well worth it for me. Second, forget about changing the on these phrases--they are just awful. You've got to use them pretty much in the original key, which would make me mad for full price, but not for twenty bucks. If it comes back at this price again, I recommend it. Reading the manual I remembered that this is an existing library, called Najati's Rhythm Guitar, from Findasound that has been repackaged by the developer, Fayez Saidawi. I got interested in Saidawi when I bought his Middle Eastern Percussion Module from Zero-G. That was a re-issue of his Findasound product. I wondered then if Zero-G would be re-releasing more of his stuff. There's a lot of YouTube videos for Findasound and I found the above video and found it intriguing. But the Findasound site was shut down at the time. It's back up now and there are some interesting stuff there, including a lot of freebies. Mostly middle eastern, but other stuff too. As I love world music, there's a lot of interesting stuff on the site, including Petra Strings, heard in the video with the original version of Zero-G's Middle Eastern Percussion Module.

  12. I use NF plugs occasionally. They make things sound very "musical", so to say. Not on par with the newest offerings from top developers, but still hold their own fairly well.

  24. Hi Lynn, Nice song and like usual, excellent lyrics. Everything sounds pretty good to me related to the mix. Purely a personal choice, but my ears want to hear the guitar solos more centered when playing without vocals. Good job brother!

  28. Thanks. I've attached a screen shot, assuming this is what you meant? PS. Not sure it would be a plugin, it only will (sometimes) go into "small mode" on the launch of the program, so there are no plugins involved at that stage. All I do know is that when I get the issue and I go check the DPI scale override for Cakewalk, it's always been automatically unchecked somehow. I shouldn't even have to set it in the first place, it should follow the windows scaling like every other program. Weird...

  30. Definitely. And if each of these prv views or splits could have the option ghosting and locking other midi tracks, so you could have a frame of reference regardless of what view you are in, that would make writing harmonies better. For one, you don't have to keep checking to make sure you're adding notes to the right track before clicking oh, and you would be able to see it if two of your instruments are hitting the same note at the same time, without having to switch between tracks in prv.

  31. If one uses the version bundled with the old SONAR not only are the plug-ins locked to SONAR (and CbB) but they are locked to a point in time. There has been at least one update to the plug-ins. The bundled version is not getting updates. IIRC, there is a problem with the BlueVerb in the version bundled with SONAR.

  37. @Leadfoot A little metal to start the day never hurts, will not comment on lyrical content. It might surprise you I actually quite like a bit of metal, I was musically educated on the likes of Black Sabbath, Black Widow, early Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Taste, T2 etc. (much to the fear of my dear old Strict Baptist Dad) Musically it sounds accomplished. Mix wise, and this is just my personal furry preferences, I would have liked the kick to have been a tad more chest crushing, some more separation between the featured guitars would have been nice, they all sounded very much on top of each other. The vocal was nice and clear, lyrics understandable. Thhe opening synth drone was very nice. Perhaps slightly over squished, the meters on my desk seemed to be locked in place. Overall though breakfast was better for a little metal, thanks for sharing.

  39. OIC - I thought that you were getting nothing at all from the Zoom. Stating the obvious - but you did ask if you might be missing something obvious - have you set the S/PDIF IN toggle switch correctly? Does Plat pick up the regular XLR inputs?

  40. There is a setting to reset all controllers on stop. This could be resetting an expression or CC that controls the volume or dynamics of the Kontakt instrument. Try moving your mod wheel and see if it changes. Also, are the playback meters in the audio track of the Kontakt instrument reading the same as the bus meters?
