  1. Warning! ☠️ reading threads in this forum may be damaging to your financial & physical health! Danger signs: Red glassy eyes Drool on keyboard Red marks on neck from spouse attempting to throttle purchases by strangulation Spending more time updating & maintaining their plugin library than creating music While there are no cures you can minimize the harm / damage to one so addicted by: Telling victim 'Oh man, they have way better sales on that on Black Friday' - then on BF take them to Grandma's house with no internet or WiFi or cell coverage for a prolonged visit. Change their PayPal password and change their credit card numbers on a frequent basis. Having their or your mother stay on prolonged visit and every time the victim tries to access a computer they come up and ask if victim is watching Porn again. "plugins ? ooh that sounds nasty!" Institute a policy - new song per new plugin, if you don't like song they have to try again. If you're a **** they'll be forever creating songs to justify the first plugin. 3. OwnHammer are very kindly giving away the G12 H30 set of speaker cab impulse responses from their new 'Rock-box' series. I think they sound pretty amazing. Just add it to the shopping cart, it won't cost anything. I'm not sure if there's an end date, so best get it whilst it's hot. 😁 https://www.ownhammer.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=474

  5. Yep, same! By the sounds of it, it's going to be a facsimile of the current interface, more or less, so it still feels familiar, but throw that on a 720p screen and everything will shrink, or a 5k screen and everything will scale up properly. How awesome would it be if you're out gigging with a 12" laptop screen and all of your UI elements fit well? Genuinely useful! It wouldn't surprise me if there was some refining to keep the experience consistent between Sonar and Next though, just to make it comfortable for people to jump between apps, but I don't think there'll be a lot of stuff in there to make people freak out. (Watch me be wrong now 🙄)

  8. Good call. Actually, if all of your notes are "on grid", then you're as well unchecking both "Fill Durations" and "Trim Durations". The only reason those options are there are to show a readable staff view representation for completely unquantized performances.

  10. Here's another warning sign I noticed: when you confront the afflicted about their problem and they shout, "Just one more, then I'll stop. I'll never get another, I promise!"

  11. From what I understand, this new scalable interface is like a year's worth of update alone, even if nothing else was added. I know that doesn't sound particularly sexy or groundbreaking to differentiate it from CbB but the ramifications of this going forward is huge. But I'd be super surprised if there wasn't a heap of other stuff being done aside from that too.

  12. @Joe Dun do you have fill duration enabled, if so it will always show a bigger note.

  14. There is a bit of a Story to this Video – I have mentioned before my wife and I have set up an Academy in Cape Town to provide work and Training to unemployed Youngsters – we have a massive unemployment issue here in South Africa with a rate of 70% Youth Unemployment. https://scholarship.sfafrica.co.za/ Anyway one of our Scholars chose Digital Marketing / Videos etc. He started with us in March – and in that time, I have mentored him a little bit, but he has learnt various programs and now he is teaching himself how to use the latest AI programs – and this video is not only his first “solo” attempt at a Music Video but also his first attempt using AI. I’m blown away with how well he has progressed, in just a few short months. So here is the Tenth track off our Indelible Stain album - The track is called Nothing was True Hope you enjoy it. You can see the lyrics here https://devinelie.com/indelible-stain/nothing-was-true/ And the whole album is available on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/album/43IS1UScScZbhzNrfVaB8a We’ve updated our website as well – we’ve got our own store now where you can get music and merchandise!! https://devinelie.com/

  18. Hopefully you are using ASIO drivers supplied by Steinberg. This video explains exactly how to set your audio up in Cakewalk. If you use ASIO you shouldn’t have to adjust timing offset. Note that the visual drawings of the wave form will not be in sync as you perform. Don’t look at that. If you’re looking at anything look at the drum track and mostly use your ears to play in time. After you stop the recording Cakewalk adjust the drawing so yes it will appear to move to the exact spot you played it. This is my complete playlist of tutorials if you are new or just wanting to increase your knowledge of Cakewalk and it’s features. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7YqVth30eGsURWrKGeu-fFyg3ETjF-Ox

  21. Disabling the audio driver prevents the hardware from being seen by the DAW and it will stay disabled until some Windows update decides to override the setting. Removing drivers without removing the hardware that needs the drivers just makes work for the operating system.

  23. Some Melda products seem so very specialized, or minor variations of other products. I have MTransient, MDynamicEQ, MAutoDynamicEQ, MLimiterX, MSpectralDynamicsLE, and MTurboCompLE, each of which seems to have some overlap with MDynamics. What I don't have is an understanding of when I should use one versus another, or when I've got all my ground covered. Why would I use MDynamics vs one of the above? Or is it mostly covered by one of the other Melda plugins that I already have?

  24. I mean, it makes sense for me to do that even if I got nothing more than a "supported CbB" going forward. I work super fast in Cakewalk, my studio is built around it, all of my legacy projects are in it... yes, I could move to other software but most (all?) other software on this level is paid anyway so it makes no sense to go anywhere else for me. But I think we all saw the Bakers in the "Clunky" thread I made a while back. They're listening, and I think Sonar will deliver.

  31. It is a SMOKIN' deal. If all it had was realMYST Masterpiece and Obduction it would be way worth it. It has every game that Cyan ever released, not including Firmament, which just recently shipped. They're are no doubt doing this to pique interest in Firmament. If you decide you can live without the 2021 MYST remaster, it's only $10, which makes it acephalic. I haven't played the 2021 version, but I can say that realMYST: Masterpiece, which is MYST ported to the Unreal engine for 3-D, looks and plays great. Warning: this bundle may induce Game Acquisition Syndrome. I hadn't played a computer game in 20 years, then bought the 11 item $10 bundle when it came up for sale in December 2021. Started off with realMYST: Masterpiece Edition (which is the version I'd recommend, it looks great and has an extra Age), then went to MYST III: Exile, which I was in the middle of playing 20 years previously. Then ripped through the rest of the MYST series and went on to Obduction, which is what pushed me into Gamer territory. Obduction really is spectacular. In the year and a half since I got the bundle, I have added at least 50 games to my Steam library (see my post on the Steam Summer Sale from a couple of weeks ago). If you like Cyan/MYST type games, I have several to recommend. There's even a guy right now who's preparing a MYST-alike game (Neyyah) and doing the sound and music with his Steam'd copy of SONAR.

  33. Brings price per pack down to $15 (as Yan noted in OP). Last time these were this cheap (50% off) was last BF (but they were also being sold at JRR which knocked down the price around $2). Tracktion does gives you $1 credit ( 'Tracktion Cash' ) per library usable on your next purchase. Might be your last chance to hit this discount level before next BF.
