I totally agree with sharing the influencer's video, I just wanted to make sure that no one mistakenly gets the idea that influencers pay for freebies like this. An influencer doesn't pay for a promotion, the developer does. Developers use popular influencers to promote their brands, including using freebies, often by sponsorship of influencer's videos (giving the influencer payment in exchange for promoting their brand/products) or simply an outright payment (if the influencer has a big following), especially on promotions like this.

We are not abandoning Lifetime Free Updates. 24 years and people are still speculating the business model is about to fail, will be changed to subscription, or makes focus only on new customers (it doesn't). They don't do heavy advertising or always off to shows, have offices around the globe. They don't need a large support staff and most of it is in their forum. Most like they've been contacted by larger companies to be acquired. The are a stubborn group of people that don't wnat to change what's working.

No, it's certainly not a surprise. Of course, it's pretty standard to do layoffs following mergers and acquisitions, but as A LOT of the threads in this forum are related to products owned by Soundwide -- e.g., KONTAKT libraries, Plugin Alliance plugins, etc. -- I thought the news is very relevant to forum users. A lot of us, including me -- have spent thousands of dollars on KONTAKT sample libraries, so we care a great deal about the future of NI and that product. From conversations I've had with KONTAKT developers I know, I've heard that there was a lot of investment in KONTAKT 7 under the new ownership, which is., of course, a good sign for KONTAKT developers and users. However, it hasn't been that long since NI was acquired, so anything is possible and I know of KONTAKT sample library developers who are mildly concerned about the future of KONTAKT and some who are concerned enough to be exploring other options, just in case (which I think is a smart thing to do). I just think it's worthy of discussion in a forum where a substantial portion of the threads are related to sample libraries.

Anyone who has seen my posts over the past year is probably aware that I'm a HUGE fan of Wurli electric pianos. I found this very good free Wurli library for KONTAKT (full version) called the Lo-Fi Wurli and wanted to share the info with my fellow forum members. While it doesn't have a GUI, it has 5 velocity layers (thanks for the info @user4325874) and I think the samples and tone are excellent. There is some noise in the samples if you hold them for a long time that could be cleaned up, but it's not terrible. It is easily my new favorite free Wurli sample library and better than some of the paid Wurli libraries I own. I immediately created a bunch of presets/snapshots for the library using reverb, distortion, a rotator speaker (Lesie) sim and really love the sound of it. While I have Wurlis from e-Instruments and Skybox Audio that are much more sophisticated packages with all sorts of options -- like the ability to add in the clank of a Wurlie with e-instruments library and lots of presets with both -- the spot on tone of this library makes it a keeper.

i use a dynamic eq as a de-esser. so nothing gets 'sucked' out that doesn't NEED to get sucked out. LOL

Now this is something I can relate to in my own little way. What effects did you use on the vocal? Did you play the guitar? I like the way it has different comings and goings. I just went through a problem with a Seagate USB connected hard drive. As it turned out the actual hard drive was OK but the internal interface was bad. Disassembled the unit and put the hard drive in a new external enclosure and all is well.
