It's always seemed odd that launching the online documentation from within Cakewalk by BandLab throws up an announcement about the existence of Cakewalk by BandLab. I'd gladly accept a cookie that would flag me as someone who's already gotten the message.5 points

I just picked up a new license for this at Thomann for €398. Seems to be a sale until June 26th. So no BBCSO for me, but I think this will be pretty darn cool! edit: they didn’t charge taxes and it’s a download so looks like I only paid €331 😅2 points

You got $25 off instead of 25%, were able to use it on sale priced products, and could use it over and over again. Other than that, it was a flawless promotion. Someone should lose their job over this. (Yes, several of us benefited greatly, AND Eventide got $40 from each of us that otherwise wouldn’t have happened, so win-win. But I’m not cynical enough - yet - to believe this massive screw-up was deliberate.)2 points

Of course there is. Should have sat on the fence about SplitEQ a while longer. This is what I get for NOT procrastinating.2 points

It's one of the very first libraries I bought back in 2016. I think it cost about $70 on sale back then. I've gotten a lot of harps since then in various orchestral libraries but it stands up. Still the best glissandos I've seen, as the video demonstrates.2 points

I've played a few of the "real thing" and there is some truth to no two are alike the basic circuit is much more forgiving than a Trainwreck is when swapping out components. Most ODS models have some fairly similar characteristics that help define the sound and how the controls work. Between particular amps some might have more gain, more compression, and all that kind of stuff so there is some difference but at the same time simply changing mics or mic positions and cabs also dramaticly change the tone and feel of an amp perhpas even more than the changes in components. So in terms of an emulation, I think there is a lot of "does it get the basics" mentality. I'm not one who buys into the hype on these but I do like the voicing of the clean channel more than most other amps. The actual overdrive isn't really my cup of tea as for all the "touchresponsiveness" claims, the reality it isn't anywhere in the same ballpark as a Trainwreck. Dumbles are overly compressed and far less dynamic in a tactical approach. As for the BX vs NA takes. I will say the NA has the less fizzy top end on note decay on clean stuff and some of the functions like "harsh" and the Mic position, mixer and ambient control on the Cabinet tab really help to shape the sound in a way the BX doesn't have built in. (though the smooth filer ca help some like the harsh filder on NA) Note the BX one is made by the same guy. I'll have to spend more time with it, but giving the slight edge to the NA over BX for the sound/feel/adjustability. Either one is a really good amp sim though.2 points

an emulation of the Italian beatbox EKO Ritmo 12 from the early 80s. The intro is 20% off - €4.80 (reg. €6) - until June 30th. https://www.rhythmicrobot.com/product/ritmo-12-kontakt-drum-machine2 points

VERY generous offer by them! I though it was only the Zampler packs at first, but it also included their VST instruments and their books. The books are really short, but I'm sure there will be at least a few useful bits of info and tips 🙂 Same with the sound packs. I have found them to be a bit hit and miss, but I'm sure there are some gems too. Thanks for posting it👍2 points

Regarding the link from the Groove3 Perks page: "Enjoy 25% all Eventide plug-ins when shopping online at www.eventide.com. *Can not be applied to sale price plug-ins." Except nearly everything is on sale...1 point

This is working as designed. Soloing a lane only silences other lanes in the track It doesn't affect the mix at the track/bus level which is what the button in the Mix module is designed to show and control.1 point

I wonder why I get more and more bored by PA! On the other hand it is good for my wallet! Most of the new plugins and the new voucher concept don't hit my taste!1 point

It allowed me to add 50 items into the shopping cart before complaining that I had reached the limit. I got all the Zampler packs, bundles and books. CTRL + clicked each product page open to a new tab, went through all the tabs with CTRL + Tab and clicked the products into the cart. I made four different purchases and I was done in about 15 minutes. 😎1 point

Macrium Reflect Free Edition. Do a full backup. Generate the Macrium Restore boot disc/usb stick. Remove your boot HD and put it somewhere safe, replace with SSD. Boot the Restore media and restore the full image backup to your new drive, extending the partition out to the maximum size. Note: this is assuming your SSD is as large or larger than the HD it's replacing. It can grow the primary NTFS partition during the restore. I don't know if it can shrink it. Google that, if relevant.1 point

Lugging gear in the rain and snow. Risking your life driving home with the drunks at 2:00 AM. Showing up at the venue with a 6-piece band and discovering a stage sized for a singer-songwriter with a drum machine. Meeting your FOH guy who introduces himself as a future metal star temporarily doing sound for free beer, just until he's discovered. Stairs. I don't hate anything about playing music, though. I'd play House of the Rising Sun one more time even without that $5 tip.1 point

My only quibble with how this is implemented is that Cakewalk still truncates the clip and makes the automatic splits if I stop recording in the middle of a take, rewind, and start again. I'd rather have it extend all incomplete takes out to the end of the loop.1 point

For me, this orchestra gives the best 'full (Hollywood) sound'. If you prefer more classical, then I'd suggest Spitfire's BBCSO. But it's of course great to use both.1 point

Mate, you cherry-picked a single sentence out of my reply and took it entirely out of context. It's clear you don't actually want help. Good luck.1 point

As several people have already indicated, even if it is a cakewalk bug, there is an ecosystem and a context behind it. In a system with complex interactions it is important to have all the elements. Cakewalk (or any other software) does not work from scratch. Would you go to your doctor and just say you're sick without giving any other information?1 point

(Read with a sense of humour.) Stop right there young man! This post is illegal. Here we only post bad things about CbB. Haven't you seen the forum? We only say Goodbye and we're not going to break that tradition now - even though we are still in the month of love. Wait . . . are you being sarcastic perhaps? mmmm . . . Interesting!1 point

Hey everybody. Same problems. Glaring with some 32bits as Cakewalk Sound Center or Yamaha SYXG50 or others ... I observ that the crackling frequence goes by half each timeI increase step by step the ASIO buffers on my soundcard (Focusrite Scarlet 2x2). At 1024, it is nearby a half second and at 96 it is like a machine gun. I also used Reaper and there is no such a problem. I also remarked that some VST are ignored under Cakewalk and still recognized under Reaper. As Reaper seems to be open-source, it will be fine as someone may technicaly compare each stuff. PS / I have just solve the problems by using JBridger appl which tranpose old VST in 64bit. It works fine !1 point
