  2. I was robbed at a gas station downtown last night. After my hands stopped trembling, I managed to call the cops and they were quick to respond and calmed me down..... My money is gone! The police asked me if I knew who did it. I said yes, it was pump number 9…

  5. I'm biased towards it since I make devices and presets for it, but it really is a synth that can do almost anything. Besides the normal synthesis stuff and sampler it also has a lot of physical modeling features that IMHO sound really good. Here is a Taiko drum I made using it. Also there are new modules planned for things like granular synthesis and spectral synthesis.

  13. Actually there are non-demo free versions (see red highlights below). I downloaded, installed, and used one myself and there was no indication of demo status (see screenshot of the actual plugin loaded in my DAW, and note the word "free" in the top-left corner). Cheers...

  15. I have the Tracktion 106 RetroMod, but I uninstalled it a while back to save some disk space. That's the problem with sampled synths, they take up a lot of disk space, which can be a waste if you never use them. Unlike collecting modeled synths that take up very little space. The only sampled synths that still have a home on my system are those from the IK Syntronik. Erik Norlander has done an excellent job of sampling an extensive collection of vintage synths for IK. He was on the team that designed the original Alesis Andromeda analog synth in the 90's, so he knows a thing or two about synths. https://eriknorlander.com/bio

  18. It would appear so. Also remember that you can sell all of your old licenses that are duplicates, or just sell the Serial #'s of the new ones and keep the old ones, to make your out of pocket for the upgrade even less!

  30. I gotta say, I'm underwhelmed with this update. Yeah, whatever, most audio software companies have been busting a55 to make their stuff M1 compatible, but I was surprised that nothing even got a resizable UI. Maag EQ2 looks small even on my not huge 23" monitors. Also curious that one of my fave houses, Unfiltered Audio, wasn't involved in the update at all. I wonder if they're still playing M1 catchup.

  31. Given that few people drop the cash on a current GPU I can understand why developers haven't tried to adopt it. It only benefits a small subset of an already niche audience It's a great idea but I can see the support complications going that route Melda has offloaded the graphics part to the GPU for a while. I wonder if he dabbled with the audio processing part too. But as mentioned above the key is just making efficient code in the first place and Melda has certainly focused on that

  32. I have licenses to some software that I don't update for a year simply because it never crosses my mind. They still receive updates - some more frequently or more major than others - but the software already worked fine years ago, continues to work today, and I expect nothing less when I check for updates again... next winter or something. Some of these guys have a pretty good track record of not breaking my shit, which is kind of admirable considering how little testing I do for them.

  35. If you're hearing a velocity response from SI, then variable velocity is being generated by the guitar controller, and CbB will record it as a parameter of each Note On MIDI message. As John noted, though velocity is not technically a 'Controller', CbB displays velocities in the Controllers pane of the PRV. You can also see numeric velocity values in the Event List view. The easy way to get a single MIDI track out of CbB is simply to drag or copy-paste a clip to a destination folder or application in Windows. Since velocity is embedded in the Note On message it will always be automatically included in a MIDI file, but the effect may not be as clear in another context if the instrument playing back that MIDI file does not have the same response to velocity which is a characteristic of the instrument's programming. I have not used SI drums, but most drum synths have a facility for dragging patterns from the UI to the clips pane in the track view to bring the MIDI into the project. EDIT: Just did a quick check, and patterns can be dragged and dropped from the SI pattern selector directly to the tracks pane where they can be copied, pasted, groove-clipped, re-arranged and edited in the PRV giving you more flexibility/variation in your arrangement.

  41. tl:dr takeaways "great songs are not enough" you need some sort of lcd (lowest common denominator) click bait focus! on one sm channel could be a good point time spent on one will lead to a better sense of what works vs scattering the same ineffective content across all channels ok, but -which- channel? especially when starting out with no following at all (the point, right?) YT is a good place to start as you can post a range of content with visuals vs... AppleTunes/Spotify/SC/BC, etc. which only post audio Agreed FB is pretty beat (hardly any of my peeps use it) IG has potential, haven't jumped on TikTok yet Twitter -might- work once you have some momentum, otherwise hard to get traction didn't post any music until he had 7,000 subscribers ya right... still need a dancing monkey of some kind the post that turned the corner for him tagged an Oasis tune ime this is a key. YT algos seem pretty efficient at picking up on hit counts (existing ruts) and why your YT feed is jammed with endless variations of the exact same thing (smh) ime covering a song has proven to be quite effective for an emerging original act people like to hear something new/but familiar at the same time and apparently YT algos can help "great songs are not enough" ya, but without them, what do you have?
