  1. OK. been watching this thread (and the first one (RIP!)) since the beginning thinking that if I got in at the top level, all I could get was Sampletron 2 and my only freebie would be the Hammond B3. SO it just wasn't worth it to me to get in. But it was fun to watch and read and..... Wait a minute... now they have added the X-Gear pedals! And I realized I ain't got everything!! Don't have the Comprexxor, don't have Space Delay! So I sit for a minute and think, nah, I'm good. Really don't need any of that stuff. Then the GAS hit me! Like a ton of bricks!! For $112 I got in on the $199 tier. And I got it all baby!! I got it all!!! 😆🤪😁 D/L Sampletron sounds now!! That B3 is next!! But I will not select anymore until the fat lady has sung!!! Oh yeah... this is good!!

  2. The Roland JX-8P was my first keyboard. I still have it and it still works, but I found this cool plug-in that gives me the JX in convenient software form. Having a lot of fun with it... https://sites.google.com/site/mlvst0/

  4. I'd like to start a rumor that an unidentified source said that @Peter - IK Multimediawill be adding 30 additional promo freebies if the GB reaches 25K, ten each at the $50, $100, and $150 levels!

  6. Yeah I mean if you don't feel like you need the full version you'd be fine with just SE but we don't talk the needs on this forum besides why would you want to stop the GAS and not letting it vent out?

  8. At least you don't have 24 freebie slots that can't be used because you bought in at the beginning and didn't think it would get this far.

  9. I can recommend the Restoration Suite 2. When I made a comparison with the corresponding RX plugins some time ago, I found that they are on the same level and one plugin (Acon DeClip or DeClick) was even better IMO, i.e. it delivered clearly a better result on my test case. Another thing to consider: The Acon Digital plugins do have a real offline autorisation key (no internet required at all, even no 2nd PC with internet!). By the way I could not resist to grab this deal with my monthly voucher!

  10. If you at least get into AmpliTube 5 for the SE version, you will get the custom VIR tech with 600 impulses per speaker, 3D mic tech view, 3 simultaneous amp & cabs, the mixer, looper, & 8-track recorder. These features are not available in the CS version of AT5.

  12. Ganymede Ganymede is one of the four Gallilean moons of Jupiter. You can actually see them with binoculars on a clear night. So far, astronomers have discovered 79 moons of Jupiter, Ganymede being the largest. So now I'm thinking of writing spacey pieces for the other three Gallilean moons, sort of like Wookie's gas giants theme. One of the tracks has what I call Klaus Schulze noise effects, for example at 0:10 and 0:19. I've been trying to get that sound from my synths for a long time (years actually) and finally I figured out how to do it! Close enough anyway. 14. With the big update to the Pianobook site. And the new samples available. I've written a little piece to illustrate the sample set "Harmonic Flights" by Sage Reynolds. A set of high harmonics from a double bass. Pitch shifted and treated. Plus some British Drama Toolkit from Spitfire Audio. Damn...Autumn is here

  16. If you missed or passed on the bundle deal that just ended, I got this in my email today. I showed the discount without being logged in, so I don't think it is limited to current customers. You need to bring up the shopping cart to see the coupon entry blank before you go to checkout. I am still on the fence regarding getting the two parts I don't have. Will be doing some YT searching I guess. https://redroomaudio.com/

  18. I had problems with Waveshell last year after updating some of my v9, v10 and v11 plugins to v12. Cakewalk would crash when trying to open any project that used Waves plugins (which was just about every project I had done over the previous 7 years). After numerous calls with Waves support and uninstalling and reinstalling Waves plugins many times they came to the conclusion that something was wrong with their Cakewalk implementation. They sent me a special version of WaveShell2-VST3 12.0_x64 (which I am still using), as far as I know the original problem has never been fixed. Cakewalk support initially told me it was a known problem with V12 and they were working on it with Waves. A few day later I was informed by Cakewalk that it was a Waves problem and please don't bother us when you have problems with 3rd party plugins. I was quite surprised and disappointed by this response, and decided it was time to quit using Cakewalk. Since I purchased Studio One during the Gibson meltdown, I already had another DAW to start using so I did. I also quit buying Wave plugins at that time and am trying to minimize my use of Waves plugins, though I still use my Abbey Road and Schepps plugins (I haven't found any replacements for them yet). I have WUP on all of my plugins until December, so I am trying to decide whether to update to V13 and hope the problem is fixed, or stay at v12 forever.

  24. For anyone else having problems with the v13 plugins and Studio One, try this procedure from Waves support. It worked for me: Close any running apps. Go to Control Panel > Programs & Features. Scroll down through the list of apps and select each of the Microsoft visual ++ Redistributable files that you see there, starting from the 2012 Redistributable and up. Go over each one, click on Modify, and hit Repair. Do this procedure for all the redistributables that you see there and once done restart the computer. After the restart go to Waves Central's Settings and run the Waves Cleanup. Once done re-launch Waves Central and install your plugins again.

  26. This group buy seems to allow you to get pretty much all of AT5 MAX (depending on how many times you enter the $99 tier). FWIW.. I only used AT 5 SE before this. I got pretty much almost all the collections and rest of MAX in this GB. I would say it really depends how you use AT 5 and what sort of music you do and tones you go after. Having the larger selection of amps, effects and mics allows for all sorts of crazy virtual combinations to try to get some sort of sound design happening with guitars. I experiment a lot of different mic's and try to see how whacky I can get it. Its so much easier in virtual drag and drop world than real world.

  28. I got in at the $149 level too with the ARC 3 w Mic because I've been eying it for a long time but also because you couldn't pick it as a freebie... $104 or so with Jam Points.

  29. You probably already know this, but you can put all your licenses on a flash drive and just plug it into whatever machine you want to use. I have an old USB 2 hub from 15+ years ago that has my e-licenser, iLok and a cheap flash drive that contains my Waves and Plugin Alliance licenses (I realize that they allow three installations/plugin). I simply plug this hub into whatever computer I want to work on. And I do something similar with my VIs: they're distributed on five (1TB Samsung) SSDs mounted in an Oyen Digital Mobius Pro 5C 5-Bay USB-C enclosure. All of my DAWs have the same file structure so I just plug the USB hub and 5-Bay enclosure into whatever machine I want to use and I'm ready to go! It takes just a minute and greatly simplifies my setup obviating the need (to a large extent) of having to install/update everything on several different systems.

  31. I can't see any benefits in using obsolete 1930's vacuum tube technology either. Or the thousands-year-old technology of making sounds by blowing through a cylinder or rubbing tensioned strings together or plucking them. Oh, wait.....

  32. Typically both. Which is why we have such a roster already, it was really Orange who best realized (both literally and figuratively) that having their gear modeled is definitely beneficial and we were the choice to do so. MESA as well and they were very particular as well. Please note that while I'm sure it is unintentional, phrasing it like "allowing their name to be used" can sound quite insulting and is definitely inaccurate. We don't work with companies that just want to slap their name on something for a few bucks. We don't create the models we do by having a company say "we'll just send some schematics" either. It is always a partnership and the companies involved need to be fully involved and the pickier they are the better. We've been lucky with that last part, might say unlucky in some ways but the effort is worth it

  35. When I added a second purchase they lumped in freebies choices together. Meaning that when I clicked on a freebie option red button it would then display two or three freebies options as a secondary menu. Seems like they have a limit how many they can display so start lumping after that. See if that helps. What Kevin said. The promotions starting at the bottom will contain your missing freebies.

  41. Recently, I had the privilege of doing a review for IK Multimedia’s “SampleTron 2” an awesome VSTi with all of the feel of the 60’s and 70’s under the hood. I shared the review with my audience and tagged IK Multimedia in the social posts. To my surprise they made a front page article about the review and gave Cakewalk some love in the process! Check out the link below to see their write up about it all: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?item_id=11665 Viva La Cakewalk!

  42. Now, I'm gonna test the Porta One this way. Get a digitized version of one of my Porta One (I still have it). Then use IZOTOPE RX-8 Advanced to clean it up to a new copy. Then run the cleaned up copy through the IKM Porta One VST. Then null test the two. I'll get me coat.
