  5. Well my not being able to work out how to inset the Marshall Plexi or Marshall Kerry King Signature or the Eden WT800 was just a matter of downloading the latest updates for each, now they show up and work fine. Still the CPU issue, don't see the point in using Amp Room to run them when I could run them on their own at lower CPU. Oh and found the manual in the FAQ's. Isn't it funny how life changes priorities, came back from the doctors this morning to the news that my mum has passed away, it's been coming, terminal cancer, the doctor said that now she has gone my dad likely wont last long, he has dementia and has probably been holding on for mum. So things aren't good here at the moment. It has really brought things into perspective, and I have probably been masking my own issues with frivolous activities for a while now, but the recent events have brought it home all to clear. So I'll be off and preparing for a journey as soon as the borders here open up allowing travel, likely not to return. When the time comes I wont allow myself to go through the pain and misery that I know is coming, I watched my brother go through that 18 months ago, no thank you, I'll check out before that. Do yourselves a favor, check out the Softube Marshall Plexi Super Lead 1959, and the Softube Marshall Kerry King Signature Series, and the Eden WT800 Bass Amp sim, all simply awesome. Fair thee well 👋👋👋

  6. This is one of the most amazing piano libraries I have come across (and no, this is not a paid endorsement) ;^) More information here: https://simplesamsamples.com/signature-grand.html It just took me by surprise and I am featuring it today (around 3:30) going live. I hope you join me.

  8. Inspired by the likes of Steve Reich, Terry Riley and John Cage, MINImalism is an electroacoustic virtual instrument for adding rhythmic motion and interest to your music. Requires full Kontakt “MINImalism” is a Kontakt based library which was recorded in the Sofia Session Studio with multiple microphones, which were later summed into three microphone positions. We recorded two pianos and a marimba, all playing perfect fifths in unison in order to achieve that distinctive percussive and mellow sound of the library. The user interface of the library is designed in a way that gives the user the whole library's potential within just three patches. In each of the instruments you will be able to see in the middle the Presets section, from where you are able to browse and select any of the premade presets for this library. On the right side you can locate the FX section, containing different effects (Compressor, Chorus, Flanger, Distortion, Equalizer and Convolution Reverb containing 30 different Impulse responses), which you are able to use to craft your own presets and create your own unique sounds. 18. I would check if the midi channel may have been changed in vb3 first. I had a major malfunction about 2 years ago when a Windows update trashed just vb3 out of all my vstis. I even went as far as contacting the guy that wrote the vb3 code!! I must say that he was more than gracious and worked very hard with me for almost a week back and forth in emails until he finally had to give up. We finally surmised that the update was the culprit. Sure enough, Windows sent out a patch fix after about 2 weeks. I nervously applied the patch fix and, lo and behold!!!!, vb3 worked like nothing was ever wrong!!!! Did you possibly receive an update before the strange behavior???

  24. All the best to you. I've learned a few things from your posts - everything except which amp sims you DO like but in retrospect, I really appreciate that, actually. Because you're right - its so subjective. And it really isn't that important given the circumstances. So safe travels when they come, and strength when you need it most. I hope we see you back here someday.

  33. Neve 1084 is great, different flavour to the Helios 69 or Voxbox, which is extremely useful. No UAD SSL experiences to share. Zo, I run out of power with three Octos on a bigger sessions, but I work at 96kHz. The more the merrier 🙂. Then if you are ok with freezing or printing tracks, one Octo could suffice. Now you got me interested again in Oceanway, Grem!

  38. Capitol & Ocean Way are great. I remember reading the SoundonSound review of the Voxbox when it came out and drooling, but it turns out I like things simple: The Century Tube strip has won my heart! I haven't tried the SSL and Neve: I'd have to have much better ears than I do to make it worth me shelling out UAD prices instead of Plugin Alliance ones for that kind of thing. And although it's too late now, I wouldn't buy something like Shadow Hills for UAD when the identical version is available natively for peanuts (if you time it right)!

  39. Pffft, I pretty much can't hear cymbals in a full mix. Generally I can hear the cymbals in a full solo'd drum bus mix fairly well. If I send my collaborators a mix where I can really hear the cymbals the way I like I'm sure you can imagine what they say. "Turn the frackin' cymbals down!!!!" Did some online tests and it appears I really start to lose it 6KHz and above. So I really rely on my ability to just barely hear the cymbals in a solo'd drum bus mix and I am usually not told very bad things about the cymbals in a mix.

  40. An MSI or AMD computer is your best buy. It is build primarily for the purpose to take the punch of today's video games amongst the youth with its speed, graphics, memory, heavy cpu usage etc. - which cakewalk will demand by making its platform available for plugins to be used within. A strong, speedy motherboard such as AMD or MSI should be considered. This is my opinion from my past experiences with DAW's. Obviously with your quickest "i7 generation CPU you can afford, with Ram cards, (Cossiar) and SSD drive."
