  1. They've called it Korg Collection 2 but apparently it's a free update for existing users. There are bundle upgrade deals. Best to check your account I'd imagine. The full bundle to new users is on sale for $299 instead of $399. https://www.korg.com/us/products/software/korg_collection/

  11. I'll be in...this stuff is killing me...I just bought Taupe with MORE than all of my money... So when the check comes in on the 30th, or if I sell some stuff from my KVR Thread, I'll buy it. I've been waiting, and it REALLY TICKS ME OFF that I have to pay to get the TSM designation when I already own most of this...I have enough Jampoints to make it $125 for the Crossgrade, so I'll do it. 😡

  14. I updated my legacy using the Korg Software Pass app (which is kind of crappy the way it handles things). I don't think adding the Triton and ARP for $199 is a very good deal, but the new GUI's on the older ones is a very nice free update. If they lower the price on the Legacy update to $99 and I'd jump, till then, no.

  15. For me, the quest had always been for my single best go-to reverb that I could put on a send and it would sound the most like sending the track to a real or imagined 3-D space. I'd have that, and then a quiver of "character" reverbs like plate emulations, psychedelic space things, etc. When Phoenix first went on sale at PB for a tenner, I downloaded the demo, threw it on my send bus in an existing mix just with the default medium room preset and my search of 5 years came to a very abrupt halt as my mix expanded into this holographic soundstage. Yeah, forget it, every other room reverb. I'm willing to entertain the possibility that you might be able to do something as good with TrueVerb or one of Melda's M*Verbs, but preset after preset in this thing was just stunning. No grain in the tails, and I don't know what kind of processing he's throwing in there to get that spatial effect, but man oh man. In other words, get the dang thing, if you are in any way in the market for an algorithmic room/hall/chamber reverb. But you can test drive it first and see. Caveat: unlike most iZotope products, license allows for a single installation, not two. Also, the UI is not as pretty as its iZotope brethren.

  26. No, you actually don't own it. Unless you buy Total Studio Max 2, you can't upgrade from Total Studio MAX 2 to Total Studio Max 3. It won't matter that you own all the stuff that's in it. However you can make a MAXGrade purchase from one of the many MAX products you own. However, you can contact IK and maybe they will cut you a deal. 😀

  34. Not a bad deal. It comes with a decent noise gate, delay, and it's own IR for what they call "Recording Chains" I go mine at a similar deal back when I could use my voucher. I finally got a $25 voucher this month! I am so proud!! : )

  35. Yes Mesh, that's what I was testing it with. A pre-recorded clean dry guitar. When you look at the delay, it very simple. But it does offer the option of adjusting the left and right side, and still keeps them in sync with the project. I set the left to an eighth note and the right to a quarter note, adjusted the feedback and then the mix was set at around 33% IIRC. Tehn I went to the chorus and brought the freq down to about 20hz with the mix set around 60 - 75%. I set the LFO on a sine wave, with the rate at 1 measure. I am still new to the plugin so these settings may be named wrong. I didn't even mes with the flanger yet, and I want to do that tonight when I get home.

  36. My past +0.5 updates happened in summer, when it becomes around 30EUR If you consider what other providers ask for, say, a single guitar amp simulator, I find it reasonable. I used to be a Cakewalk hardcore user. But the Gibson afair pushed my to Cubase for a hand of bucks take gave some use to the sonar platinum license I had paid. Still with a eye on Bandlab I am reasonably satisfied. I am just an amateur. The scarce time I have to make music I really appreciate if it can be invested in other stuff rather than IT, which happens to be my work XD

  37. Hey guys, I too try to resist buying more plugings but I can't stop doing it. The only way is to stay away from the internet, but that has become an addiction as well. So what can we do?... Well, since resistance is futile, let's keep on spending money on things we may never use! My only advice is to keep it to a minimum, and buy these toys only when they are on sale, that way we won't end up living on the streets. 😉

  39. I went for it, even though I had Nimbus. So I want to hear a difference. And so I do. But the best reason to get them both is the measly one activation per plug you’re getting.

  40. I like Nebula! I find that I can modulate the mix of the Delay with the sine wave/triangle and get a good delay that not's crowding at all. And from just messing with it I think it only modulates as much of the mix as you have dialed in on the fx. Which is really sweet! Like I said I am getting a great chorus with an ever so slight delay that gives it lots of space. (I have the left and right delay times set differently)

  43. PB prices are always all over the place. I've often seen "upgrade" prices that are way more expensive than buying whatever it is from scratch and "sale" prices that are more expensive than it was before the "sale".

  45. You can't use the Adobe sound files as part of a trademark (audio mark) and expect them to be exclusive. The sentence as read only entangles the "trademark rights" the "content file or derivative works thereof" means exactly that. You can't take these sounds, fiddle them and then claim a trademark right on them (either as shipped or a derivative). Adobe has no issue with normal sound file usage, these sound effects have been distributed with Audition for a very long time (and under a bunch of different licenses). I'm pretty sure Adobe couldn't sue any one for using them if they wanted to. Trademark rights are a totally different kind of thing than a copyright (just like patents aren't trademarks, and design patents aren't normal patents, but people blur them all together sometimes). And no I'm not a lawyer, but I have used the Adobe files in projects and will continue to do so. Though technically I may have paid for them a few times since I've bought Adobe products that included them on discs before the creative cloud and do have an active creative cloud sub. But I don't think that gives me any extra rights.
