  2. At $10 this is a great deal, even if you have others it's worth picking up. Personally I've found that the variations by different devs have different flavors/mojos so I like to have a variety. Check out the free offering of Bitter Sweet by Flux. NI's Transient Master is also nice one. While it may not appear as flexible as Softube's Transient Shaper there's been a time or two when I was more impressed by the results. There's quite a number of others https://producelikeapro.com/blog/top-10-transient-shaper-plugins/

  4. Yep. I made a couple of posts over the years reminding people not to discuss politics or make thinly veiled intolerant/prejudiced statements against certain groups of people (same folks did both), and it's always the same bad actors over the years, and over time, a couple of them sent me some pretty hateful PMs and regularly post snipes at me in the forum even in threads I don't even participate in and they'll make a reference to me (while at the same time stating that they've hidden my posts, defying logic. Life's too short for anyone to carry around that much hate and resentment; it's such a waste of energy and one's life, IMO. But there's no shortage of people who think otherwise. Fortunately, most people in this forum are nothing like that. Just report spam to the mods. There would absolutely be abuse if the ignore function could be manipulated to ban people -- because trust me, there are folks here who will (and are already) abusing the system.

  6. This is a great piece of software - I use it all the time when I am writing music - in fact I used it about 30 mins ago!! I had written a piece of music, recorded a short demo but it didn't sound quite right - you can put it in Decoda and change key as well as tempo - I speeded mine up by 6Bpm and now sounded much better. 7. I'm assuming that you clicked on the ellipses on the right side of the post and clicked on 'report' to report post/poster? (before you go DUH, that's obvious - not everyone knows about that feature) Forums admins pay attention to reports they don't care who's blocking/ignoring who.

  8. The next one is this Friday. I don't think they changed anything at all after Epic bought them so I hope this current shuffling doesn't change much either. @PavlovsCat The Bandcamp Fridays are popular with indie musicians and someone I believe we both know pretty well seems to use Bandcamp extensively: https://sonicelements.bandcamp.com/ (though I have the CDs - yes I still buy CDs - of New World and Static, I also have purchased them through Bandcamp and on Bandcamp Fridays of days gone by since Dave tends to remind people about Bandcamp Fridays especially when he has a current release he's promoting).

  9. Cool blue sax, red hot price That's a pretty bold headline, but called for when the Blue Alto Saxophone from Duplex Saxophones is 50% off for the next 48 hours. This visceral woodwind has two legato styles and 12 expressive articulations including sustains, marcatos, staccatos, doubles, triples, falls, and bends. It uses a single dynamic layer to preserve all the nuances of a real performance and make melodies sound more authenticā€”perfect for mellow jazz, soul, blues, pop ballads, or tracks that demand a cool, blue sound. Only until midnight (CET) on October 4, Blue Alto Saxophone from Duplex Saxophones is available for the very special price of ā‚¬22 (regular price ā‚¬44). https://www.orchestraltools.com/store/collections/duplex-saxophones/instruments

  26. That's not far off the mark for me! But some of the plugins are really quite decent and have had quite a lot of use. If they had flashy designs and branding, people would probably be paying a lot more and raving about them, so sometimes they don't give them enough credit. I'm all for freeware, inexpensive, or pricey if it's worth it, it's just about how good they are and never the price.

  36. Last I heard. It would take you a year listening 24/7 to catch up with all the music being released in one day on Spotify. There is no way you could figure out what artists you would want to listen to without a big label and big marketing campaign.

  38. I had to look this up since I have seen the name mentioned a few times but never know what it actually was. Looks like a beefed up version of the discontinued Riffstation with a PRV and RMix thrown in (more features than Riffstation had). It is good to see there are still contemporary options available.

  39. Sonnox is one of the best still imhio , elysia also , Waves multi band one also handy !! I pointed ou the nvloppe (or maybe the spl +) because they share the exact same designs .... with eth ability to choose freq for attack and sustain , it's superb and powerfull , and underused imho by people ....

  44. O.K...I listened to the first mix before & just now saw the second underneath. That one is much better, the left rhythm gtr is slightly distorted, there's a freq. that's dominant & poking out, maybe try cutting that a bit & you might also pad back the reverb on it a bit. It washing over the melody. Another nice doodle, enjoyed it.

  47. That doesn't mean I haven't changed my mind about certain people and the topics at hand, for the better. Nothing really gets under my skin anymore and 99.9% of everything "bad" I see here and in life just rolls off my back now. I was thinking of starting a thread like this a while ago but always backed out. Glad you did. And now back to my Blueberry Vodka and some John Barleycorn Must Die.

  49. I use plugins to monitor with Reverb, usually sonitus for these purposes. I set up two tracks, both with input monitoring on. I place sonitus with a room verb on at about 60% wet on the 1st track, and the 2nd track is dry. when the artist is recording, they hear themselves through the sonitus plug, because of the nature of reverb having some natural decay time, it doesn't sound off or unnatural to them, and I get the dry version for my purposes with the other track. I use this trick for a lot stuff. Takes some finagaling depending your system specs, but even for simple setups, this usually works great.
