  1. If nobody mentioned it here--I couldn't find it--there is update 4.16 for SampleTank 4. This new version optimizes various functions and features as well as includes different fixes for issues some users might have experienced. This update offers additional Syntronik 2 instrument compatibility enhancements and we recommend that all users update to SampleTank version 4.1.6 for the best experience. Now here is my story... I've recently got around to reinstalling SampleTank 4 and a lot of those new ST4 libraries that came with Total Studio 3.5. While some of them installed easily, there were others like Shipwreck Piano that installed but made no sound. So I had some communication with IK about this issue, but after a time I didn't hear from them for a few days. Then this update, which solves all of my problems. This is the first time I've been one of those people who "had issues some users might have experienced." I'm guessing there were a few people who had my problem, so they fixed it. Thank you, IK!

  4. Cakewalk is fantastic. It's been my DAW of choice since 1991 and gets better all the time. Now working on my 16th CD using CW to compose and produce my compositions and recordings. Thank you so much for creating, maintaining and upgrading CW. The music industry has no idea what it's missing in terms of a DAW that has so many great features. Even the earliest features, like being able to rename controllers, a color-coded event list and the general look of CW still add value to this DAW. Happy holidays and and happy new year to all at Cakewalk! Jerry

  15. I also noticed that the latest SampleTank 4 now has individual library entries for each of the new synths in Syntronik 2, even if you are just running Syntronik2 CS. You can now easily choose the demo presets from each synth, rather than just a combined list of presets for CS.

  18. Get it here --> https://algonaut.audio/atlas_2_downloads/ Atlas 2.1.1 Change Log Mostly an important bugfix update but also introduces Native Mac Silicon support and better compatibility with older versions of MacOS. Recommended. IMPORTANT Bugfix: Fixed some samples not being categorized correctly. This meant some categories were wrong or some samples were not getting into the map. Maps created with Atlas 2.1 will need a FULL REBUILD (hold shift when clicking rebuild). Bugfix: Maximize sequencer window is now correct size in 1x8 and 2x8 drum kit modes. Bugfix: Fixed missing drag image when dragging sample from map or drum kit. Bugfix: Sequencer 'Velocity always editable' setting now working correctly. Bugfix: VST3 multichannel outs now working in Reaper and other DAWs. (VST3 only) Bugfix: Fixed Linux project load/save. (Linux only) Bugfix: Linux drag-drop to other apps improvements. (Linux only) Bugfix: Fixed bug where some MIDI files wouldn't import. Bugfix: Fixed crash that occasionally happened in Reaper when doing an Undo. (may happen in other DAWs too) FEATURE: Native Mac Silicon version. FEATURE: Atlas should now run on older versions of MacOS.

  19. I was just reading (OK, listening to the audiobook version of) "Making Rumours" by Ken Caillat and didn't realize how much he use a Leslie on Lindsey Buckingham's guitar so I'm probably going to dive deeper into those tones as opposed to some of the more commonly-known examples - perhaps in one of the Sunset Sound ISO rooms since we don't have the Record Plant in Sausalito though I'd love to have it. I also want someone to figure out the circuit for the "Fat Box" bass DI used, but the circuits are potted on any units out in the wild, the creator won't ever make any more, and nobody seems to want to let one go if they have one. I wouldn't either.

  20. I think this is the same one they released in May (file size/name is the same). Some excellent presets for a freebie including contributions from Venus Theory, Navi Retlav, Newloops, Flintpope, Arovane, Man Makes Noise, Databroth and many others.

  21. It would be very nice if IK would just supply a custom installer that let you select the instruments you wish to have installed. As it is now, you just open the IK chute, and it all flows down! As it stands now, I have 418GB content in my SampleTank 3 and SampleTank 4 folders, combined. Some of that could go away, as I never intend to use all of it...

  23. It's now clear now that I was responsible for this problem. When I reinstalled SampleTank on a new drive I guess I didn't use the latest install. And then I didn't update it. That caused the problem. The only thing that's odd is that the IK Customer Service didn't recognize that immediately. But anyway, it works and that's all that matters. @Tim Smith I also have a few issues with the SampleTank interface. With all the scrolling required, it always seems like I click more things than I want and have to hunt around to turn them off. Also it's too many GB for stuff I'll never use, like the ST4 strings. So I've been doing some customizing and I like working with it much more. Plus it's smaller. I may do a video someday showing how I'm doing it. It's a work in progress.

  26. I strongly recommend this one. I did VERY EXTENSIVE testings of all bass amp sims and this is the most realistic of all. I used to own a 1x15 Eden cabinet and the similarity is remarkable.

  27. "This VST3 plugin delivers you a set of 106 realistic sounding 'HEY' shouts." Wow, this will be great to replace those unrealistic sounding hey shouts I put in each and every one of my songs. PRO TIP: They really liven up Christmas songs. Just imagine: "Christ the savior is born -- HEY!!! Christ the savoir is born -- HEY!!! HEY!!! HEY!!!" Or "Silent night, holy night -- HEY!!!" It really gets the audience's attention. Completely unexpected. Definitely brings the wow factor to every song you use it in.

  35. They are staying independent. Here's the story from Anthony at Evolution Series on VI:Control: Regarding the mysterious nature of this sale... I'm also sorry for the confusion. To cut a long story short I have been working for what seems like an eternity on multiple new products and updates all at one time. In an unexpected situation we ended up finishing all the libraries at once lol So my good friends at Native Instruments wanted to do some sort of sale with me. After having a think we decided to do something crazy and put all the 'NKS' libraries even the unreleased ones in this big sale. So think of it this way you are buying a number of products that are not officially released yet... that is why there is no information on my site. Once this sale is over these new products will not be available for a few months while I slowly work on the offical overview videos (these take ages!!). I can honestly say there is so much cool content. The NI overview video is just a small look at everything. I'll reach out to some reviewers and see if they can put something together sooner rather than later to provide a deeper look at the sounds Until then I'll do my best to answer any questions. I've suggested to Anthony that he give a copy to @Simeon Amburgey so he can do a video. I think that's going to happen. Simeon has another video planned before this, and it's going to be a lot of work. FYI, Anthony goes by the name @pulse on VI:Control.

  39. I have also gotten used to living with the idiosyncrasies of LABS because I do like the content (and they are also Unified). I currently have all of them installed and working fine but the installer tells me that there are 6 that need to be installed. Go figure 😵 Love the new Christmas one - every type of Christmas bell you can think of, soft vocal mmms and a good selection of fun whistles! What's not to like 🎅🏻

  43. Looks great on paper, though I still wonder why no one has released a convincing demonstration of dynamic IRs advantages over normal, static IRs. FWIW, TwoNotes claim that their virtual cabinets are dynamic. Maybe it's true, but each time I try to use the Wall of Sound plugin, it eventually gets replaced by other options. Also worth noting that AT5 cabinets are now beyond excellent, second to none. Overloud's SuperCabinet has got Z-Curve which is kinda sorta emulates speaker dynamics. AFAIC, it works with user IRs as well. Considering all available options, SpeakerMix seems overpriced. And with its CPU performance, need for further investments as well as not apparent benefits of so called "dynamic IRs" I don't see it being a hit in the already crowded cab sim market.

  45. Just found this old thread and thought I would bring it back to life. I have been following developments with this over on KVR here https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=509932 I have recently tried the Basic version of Synthesiser V with the demo version of Eleanor Forte AI and the results are pretty good considering I didn't really tweak anything, just typed in the words and drew the notes (I'm also using Nectar to create a single vocal harmony). https://soundclick.com/r/s8js4m Here's another I just did with something a bit more appropriate for the time of year using the new ANRI lite voice (with a small amount of Boz Provocative on the vocal). The pronunciation is slightly off in places but this could probably be tweaked further once I know what I'm doing (or maybe in the full version). https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14360315 Some of the demos using the full version are pretty amazing and there are more and more voices in the works or released. Solaria AI based on the voice of Emma Rowley, in particular, sounds amazing.
