Wow, has it been that long? (3 years now): I have never logged in into my UVI account until now, I had Free Digital Synsations (AVID) too, from 2019, I forgot about it, and I am sure CCLarry was the one who posted about it back then.

It's here and working great. Store I bought it from said they were back ordered since 2019. 1st impressions are very good. Driver installation and set up very easy right out of the box. Yes there's ASIO drivers. Up & running in 5-10 minutes. It replaces a failing Behringer UFX1204 which had all the right features for me, but is starting to fail. -

Would that be the same Zebra3 originally scheduled for release in 2019? I stopped holding my breath for that one a long time ago. Summer of 2023, I think, was the last prediction. Of course, if it ever really does become reality, I'll be first in line to buy it.

@Mage_et_lent Cakewalk no longer actively supports Windows 7. If you continue to use it, it's up to you to ensure your Windows 7 has the latest fixes from Microsoft. As things are bound to break. Not sure if this is related or not but the latest update has code signed dll's using SHA256. Windows 7 did not have SHA256 support by default so if you don't have a fully patched version you may have incompatibilities. While it is a good value on the surface. I bought 2019 and never used it before getting 2020 the following year. No different than plugins, if you don't end up using it...also money wasted. If it is software you plan to really use, crazy good value.

This is actually a very good deal. I have not seen this drop for a couple of years, and Corel does this for "last year's version" to promote upgrades going forward. Painter is the hardest one to on-ramp into (except for when it appears in this promotion), and has the most expensive upgrades as well (typically $150, then drops to $75ish). AfterShot Pro has been a $20 upgrade forever (one time), and VideoStudio Pro/PaintShop Pro are typically coupled together for around $50 upgrades (each year). For those that do not own these versions already, $30 for them is a great option. With the features included in these versions you may never need to upgrade them. Caveat to this... the newer versions of Painter and PaintShop Pro are fairly memory intensive (recommended 16GB of RAM for Painter IIRC) and take longer to load than older versions (especially if you have addons/plugins), but have had some nice features added in the past couple of years. It is also recommended to have a stylus input for these if you want to get the most out of them (a mouse will do a lot of things, but the precision of a stylus will make use a lot easier, especially for freehand drawing). Quick Edit: When this dropped in 2020, it basically only included Painter 2020 and CorelCAD 2019. The AfterShot Pro, VideoStudio Pro, and PaintShop Pro were added, but CorelCAD dropped. I have actually gotten some decent use from CorelCAD from various decking projects, but got that 2020 bundle because the minimum on-ramp into Painter at that time was $225 (for someone who has never owned a copy).

Might be a region thing, in the USA there is no need to BTA to get the top tier bundle. It is strightup $30 (only more if you choose). This is the part I want to know about. Is Painter 2022 here actually DRM-Free? I have 2019 and 2020 and both are the typical 2 computer limit authorization. If I can install this one on a handfull of my own machines, I'm interested again.

So, the redistribution is a older file. That isn't being up to date.

I paid $179 for "Swing!" (lists for $329) and $229 for "Swing More!" (lists for $439) I happened to be composing a jazzy piece when this sale happened, so I bought "Swing!," I'd been watching videos of it for a long time. Guy Rowland walks through all the sounds and Cory Pelizzari has a nice one. I knew I wanted it and it was the time. It was early July 2019. After many days of playing around with "Swing!" I could see that it was an awesome library, so I decided to reach into my pocket and get "Swing More!" while the sale was on.

I don't have a problem with the GR meter but loading presets is a problem. Can't say I have ever bothered with the presets. I also tested with an older version of the compressor (v2.4.83 from 2019), it may have never handled PC presets properly. Individual presets were added to CbB in 2020.04, around the time when Softube v2.4.96 was released. With v2.4.96 all the Softube PC modules started crashing and continued to be a problem until v2.5.39.0 around April 2022 when Softube fixed the crashing problem. Softube is likely unaware of the preset problem. Update: The preset problem is not limited to the FET compressor. I just ran through a few presets using the VST2 and PC versions of TSAR-1R. The PC reverb fails just like the PC compressor. It appears Softube still has some work to do on all their PC modules. Update 2: I am not sure if the per-module preset feature added in CbB 2020.04 works with any 3rd party PC modules. I just took a look at Boz Digital +10db and Hoser XT EQs. Preset seem to fail with these PC modules too. Update 3: After messing with this a little more, it appears the problem may be with how CbB is processing manufacturer supplied presets. Creating and loading new presets seems to work OK. If I had to guess, the problem may be due to the layout differences between the PC and VST plug-ins.

I know there are a few people here who like Big Big Train, so I am posting this here. Things have been very difficult for bands in general recently, for Big Big Train even more so. When David Longdon the lead singer and one of the main writers was killed in an accident last year the band had already gone through major line-up changes and suffered the usual COVID disruption to tours and recording schedules. The gig in Aylesbury (UK) I attended last Friday had been postponed twice and tickets originally went on sale in 2019, it was supposed to be the start of a European tour, but the last-minute cancellation of the Leeds HRH Prog festival blew a hole in the bands cash flow and the tour had to be cancelled. I was lucky to attend one of the few shows that went ahead. The show kicked off with a set by Norwegian band Dim Grey who were very good indeed. When Big Big Train took the stage only three of the eight members were the same as the line-up I saw in Newport before Lockdown. I was familiar with the new lead guitarist Dave Foster having seen him with his own band, Panic Room and the Steve Rothery Band. I had also seen the new violinist Clair Lindley with Stackridge and DML in the past. Dim Grey’s Oskar Holldorff was standing in for Carly Bryant who had other commitments. There was also a slightly smaller brass section, just four with the euphonium being dropped supplementing the core members. But the big question was what would new vocalist, Italian Alberto Bravin, who had previously been with PFM be like? He was a very good choice, certainly not a David Longdon soundalike but well suited to the material. He also added additional guitar and keyboards to the line-up. By the second song “The First Rebreather” one was sure they this was still Big Big Train and they were still excellent. Probably the most moving moment was when rest of the band left the stage and Nick D’Vergilio accompanied by Rikard Sjöblom on piano preformed David Longdon’s “Telling the Bees” in tribute. An American and a Swede and a very English song. Gregory Spawton, the band leader, writer and bass player is always a retiring player right at the back, but nothing shy and retiring about this Rickenbaker playing. The extrovert Nick D’Vergilio made a particular point in ensuring Greg had a particularly enthusiastic standing ovation during the band introductions. Times remain difficult but it was a triumphant come back and as they said, “the journey continues”.

Was unable to clone my HHD drive (with installed Dimension Pro, Platinum, etc...), so I had to go with a fresh install of the BandLab Cakewalk software, but...my original install of Dimension Pro, I apparently failed to write down the s/n as the yellow tag on the CD install box is not filled in (ugh). I do still have the email with the registration code (from Nov 8, 2007) but, of course, without the serial number I'm dead in the water as far as Dimension Pro goes. As no one has responded to this thread since 2019, I may continue to be up the proverbial creek. I'll keep hope alive for now : )

The rushed product thing is a popular opinion, regardless of any deadline. Version 1 was released in Summer of 2019. NI finally added a proper preset browser to Massive X in v1.4 THIS YEAR (2022). The product release notes tell the tale of a product released before it was fully baked. And there are still other WTF "features", such as you can only automate the macro knobs. No other parameter automation available. And no ability to create and organize custom preset banks. Everything that you, or a 3rd party sound designer creates, goes into the "User" folder. Only NI issued preset banks have custom folder names. 🙄

Love it! And that Les Paul has me drooling... Right tuners, right knobs - it's got it all! Mine WAS just a DSL. It's one of the many things that I had to let go of in 2019-2020. That being said, I can't say that I ever really used it all that much. But there was something comforting about that big Mashall box in the corner of the room - and I knew if was there when I needed it. But I recorded DI most of the time. The one thing I sincerely regret having to let go is my inexpensive Gibson SGJ. Best practice guitar I've ever owned and unlike other SG's, it felt solid. Since the ex moved out, I've had to do a LOT of decorating. It's a big house for one man and his cat, so I had to spread stuff around a bit. And it's also quite expensive so the budget for decorating is extremely tight. But last week I finally managed to get around to installing that upholstered panel that's been in the garage for a year. As you see, gear is sparse. The outboard compressors, the mackie board, the Pro Tools control surface and a lot of that stuff is gone. But if I'm to be honest, the equipment I actually use is still all there. And the room still has that vibe, I just love it. Since it doubles as my office, I spend almost 60 hours a week in here and even after 9 years, I just never get tired of it. I hang out here on my nights off quite often, actually. I really need a new black rug though - this grey one is an eyesore.

Same here. He's the man. Did you know there's even a record label named A Strangely Isolated Place? BTW, Hoopla Digital, which is usually free with a library card, has the original mix/master of Strangely Isolated Place which I like better than the 2019 remaster.
