  10. I was an early adopter and can relate to all of these comments. Those were the days. And of course there was the whole Atari ST phase. I think my first real software was something called Master Tracks Pro. I remember I had to drive an hour to Toronto and pay $499 for a 3.5" disk. It worked extremely well and the computer came with a midi interface as standard equipment. I could even play multiplayer games over midi. Anyone remember midi maze? And then everyone said the Atari was for amateurs and I had to go IBM if I was serious. So there was PC, then XT, $500 for a math co processor and $900 for a 20 meg hard drive. I was a king. Until there was 386, 486, Pentium and onward through the fog. I was spending way more time getting the hardware to work than I was creating music on a computer. About the only thing I've learned in 40 years is that if you sit on the sidelines you'll see most things come and go in short order. Sonar didn't. It evolved with the hardware and refuses to die.

  11. I chose Aligner and used the voucher to purchase SigMod and Stereoizer Upgrade for $18. Nice!

  13. I used the coupon previously the same way. Choices are very limited. However, the full version of Stereoizer is awesome. The other one I use is MonoFilter. I've never found a real use for StereoPlacer, but may have to try it out again. The only one I didn't have was SigMod, which I've been interested in, but I've never really felt like paying the asking price for it.

  15. Right...I took Stereoplacer Elements and there is an upgrade to the full version for $69. Minimum spend to use the discount code is $100. I added Stereoizer Elements. With tax included I'm getting the two of them for $22.50. What do you reckon? Reason I'm looking at Stereoplacer is because I was interested in Klevgrand Haaze 2 and this seems to be the same sort of thing.

  16. @jack c. , Thanks Jack. There were a lot of changes to get it to this point . @treesha , Thanks for the suggestions. I went in and rolled some highs off and did some automation on the cellos to smooth out some of the spots. It Really needed it. May address it again .Sometimes I'm a little too conservitive with EQ. @Bajan Blue , Appreciate the comment. I'll probably try that percussion again sometime using a different guitar. @garybrun , The 3d comment is probably the best I could recieve. ☺️ I've been striving for it for quite a while but never seemed to get there. When I started deleting tracks , it started opening up. Lesson learned.. @DeeringAmps , Thanks Tom , I always value your opinion and appreciate you weighing in. @bjornpdx , Thank You. I think the cello is an Extremely versitile and underused instrument. I once heard a metal band that used 2 of them with FX. Yeah the "whoo" is in the TTS brush kit. I've hit it by accident quite a few times. @Bridget Murphy , Thanks for the listen and suggestions. There's some drumwork in there , perhaps not enough. I'll listen closer and look at it when I go back in . Thanks for the listens and replys .. mark

However, after a marathon session of troubleshooting my problem, I do believe that I have come to the solution with the help of you all. There's too much to explain now, so I'll take a nap and give you my findings tomorrow (later today !!!!). G'night.

  22. I like it. Worts and all. Certainly a PF vibe, which is an easy sell for me. You do have a lot of singing potential, and I'm very happy to see you explore it more. For me the hardest part is finding the right lyrics to sing. They have to mean something that resonates with me. Once I have them established as such the rest seems to come natural. To be clear, I never considered myself a top notch vocalist by any stretch of the imagination, but most of us are not a Steve Perry and never will be. Its all about adding an extra dimension to the work and to lead the audience into the emotion message of the music. Anger, sadness, joy, love, etc. Even though some didn't understand the lyrics they can certainly pick up the emotional tones of your voice. Ex: Great Gig In The Sky. It takes a lot of nerve to sing, because it requires one to expose them self a bit more. Don't be nervous about such things. You sing it the way you feel it, brother, and let the rest of the world spin. Oh, by the way. How the hell have you been doing, my furry friend? Stay well!!! Dean

And me watching her slip away from me. I have found a copy of the lyrics, they are in this forum from three years ago, I will copy and paste them here again.

  27. What I remember most about the song forum was NagBap. Bapu was always chasing people to send along their stems so he could get his work done. IS he still at it? I'm curious to see what the next Sonar roll out will look like. I bought every proprietary plugin they sold back in the old days and I've not been able to find really great replacements for some of them. I have all the old pre Bandlab software archived, including the plugins. I'll be curious to see if the rewrite kills backward compatibility with them. I do miss some of the Cakewalk synths because they were easy to use and had great sound. In a previous post I described the product as doomed and that was a poor choice of words. I think cursed would have been better. It just seemed like whenever things were really coming together, money and management would derail it. Roland, Gibson, Bandlab. I can't think of any other platform that's changed hands as often. On the positive side, these issues pushed me in another direction. I moved away from recording and got into hardware, building guitar amps, working with studios and eventually building tube hi-fi equipment. So it wasn't all bad. I bought a bunch of DAWs. I found most didn't work for me as well as Sonar Platinum but did get comfortable with Reaper. finding it to be very capable and low cost. Here's a couple examples of my new gig.

  28. Has anyone else received the below message when opening Cakewalk By Bandlab? The message had a red backgroung with yellow lettering. Cakewalk Must be reactivated within 10 day(s). Update activation status before time runs out, In CbB I clicked on HELP > Refresh Activation. I then closed out of CbB and reopened it again, I have no idea what that was.

  29. I picked SigMod since I already own Aligner, MonoFilter4/Stereoizer3/StereoPlace3. I applied the $100 voucher to ISL2. Not that I need another Limiter but it was just about the only item on offer that I was willing to lay down a U$Grant for.

With a no name Mac looking monitor, pads all dirty trying to produce something with the wires cut off. Thought the lamp may have been real but its hovering over I don't know what is on the desk.
