  25. Yes, I applaud NI for this unusually worthwhile voucher. Most of them in the past could not be applied to upgrades, but this one can. It enabled me to upgrade from the Stradivarius Violin (which I had as part of Komplete 14U) to the full Cremona quartet for US $49.50.

  28. I said it myself, a few days after the announcement was made that I didn't think Cwk, as it stands today, was even remotely ready to be commercially released. And the thing is, if it fails for a second time, commercially, I think it might be the end of the road. So, hopefully the mystery is about fixing the hundreds of bugs and reliability problems it has - plus maybe a few dozens intuitiveness and ergonomic problems. Having newcomers that aren't as prone to finding excuses to it, no matter what, out of habit, sympathies or misunderstood gratitude, might be a good idea, in that regard. Cause one thing I've said from my early days with Cwk, about 4 years ago, was that the moment Cwk become a paid application, all that predisposition for lenience will vanish overnight - and it's not doing anybody any favors, as it exists today. I do believe people on this forum would be good testers, subjectivity aside, but, for one, I've signalled dozens of problems during these 4 years, and none of them seems to have been addressed. Some suggestions did make it, though, and I appreciate that. I still have about 30-40 pretty big issues captured, right now, which I'm not putting out because it would take a lot of time, to very little hope. For instance I can't trust Cwk with my audio clips. I don't think there's worse you can say about a professional DAW. And it crashes a few to a few dozen times a night, for the most diverse reasons. It can't find, now, plugins it had loaded 5 minutes before. It handles RAM and registry entries badly, and there always seems to be some conflict with the video side in the VC redists - to my very limited understanding of media frameworks. That's just counting a few issues. And I do like Cwk, don't get me wrong, I want to work in it - love the interface, the PC, what it can do, the sound, etc. - but objectively speaking. It's got a lot going for it, if the problems were solved, I think it would be stellar. But the problems are great, and have persisted for years. So... For a commercial release, i believe the most important factor, before any interesting functions, is that it be reliable, and work as intended - basics first - also consistent and intuitive - which it doesn't right now.

  29. Happy Xmas everyone, I'd just like to thank every member who has over the year, taken their precious time out to answer my questions; most if not all of my queries were basic novice stuff, but the problems always stopped me moving on with my projects despite the solution being pretty simple. No one lost patience with my stupidity and many answers were comprehensive and educational. So thanks every one, and particularly John Vere for his comprehensive answers and greats videos,; I seem to spend much of my life on hold to vast call centres run by corporations who really don't give a Rat's A**se about me or my problems, as long as they get my money. But here on this forum, there's a different philosophy, and its very refreshing. And no, I haven't had a Christmas drink! ( Yet!) All the best and thanks again. Richie

  33. It sounds ok-ish. In contrast, one of the best beatmakers out there right now, Tamuz, has a new kit out: THICC Vol. 2. It contains 120 breaks (instead of 50), 120 one shots (instead of 0), 100 melodic one shots (instead of 0) and 4 compositions with stems you can sample and cut yourself (instead of 0, but the multitracks are coming in a couple of months). Cost? normally $29,99 but with code BREAKOFF50 you get 50% off. That's about 10% the cost of the Elysia pack and I'd say quadruple the value, quantity and quality wise. This is insane. Who told them dry drumloops are worth their MB size in gold? https://hiphopdrumsamples.com/products/tamuz-thicc-vol-2-drum-breaks?_pos=19&_sid=b2f5bd54e&_ss=r&variant=40647811366978

  36. Talk about from the heart, this is deep ! I really love the song. The words and imagery are wonderful, very poetic yet realistic too. Your words really painted the picture. Some very creative descriptions regarding light and shadows and their interplays. I love the guitar playing. The mood is strong. A few times I had trouble following the drum pattern when it was more creative, likely due to my simpleness around drum parts. Enjoyed it a lot ! happy holidays

  38. Questioning Juan: Isn't that kind of what almost every guitar amp sim does? Answering Juanita: ¡Claro! (Oh course!) I haven't yet tried it, probably it uses different algorithms (than an amp sim) and it does a lot more mangling (per demo video).
