  1. Nope. Tape didn't work. That's a waste of something I could've given away. Oh well. Did it for you guys.

  2. Yes, one downside of owning MCompleteBundle is that posts like these no longer get me excited. Talk about first world problems.

  6. Sorry, but this is ACTUALLY abusing the system, unlike using a generic 80% off coupon code in a way that doesn’t follow the dev's incredibly naive strategy.

  11. Yeah, best when getting fancy with MIDI routing to disable Always Echo Current MIDI Track and get familiar with manually controlling input echo. "Always Echo" is one of the few defaults I still turn off and leave off but if one keeps it simple, "Always Echo" is convenient.

  12. I often find myself overwhelmed by MAutoDynamicEQ. It's too much, yet is not that intuitive when used for more basic things. Don't get me wrong. It's a great eq and a great budget alternative to fabfilter when on sale, but I honestly find myself using stock mequalizer for basic stuff

  18. Early on, MeldaProduction came out with MDynamics, which was intended to be The One Dynamics Processor To Rule Them All. Get that and you'll never need another compressor, gate, limiter, expander, whatever. Which fits with Vojtech's design philosophies. A limiter is the same thing as a compressor with an infinity ratio, so why separate them? The answer is that there is usability value in reducing complexity (also, you can sell FX to people who don't have the budget for MDynamics). Despite the fact that their features are a subset of MDynamics', with the same underlying code, I use MCompressor and MLimiterX more often than I use MDynamics. MDynamics is just too huge for me to get my head around (for now). Vojtech has said that he uses MLimiterX when mixing/mastering, which is a pretty good endorsement.

  21. HOFA-Plugins has announced the IQ-Series Transient, a new tool for transient and sustain processing, saying: Besides basic broadband processing, the IQ-Series Transient features frequency-selective shaping of transients and sustains. Using an EQ-like view with five fully parametric bands, sounds can be adjusted according to the user's wishes. The newly introduced "Magic Boost" function ensures steady transients even with difficult signals. A dedicated "Time Chart" shows which parts of the audio have been detected as transients or sustain and how pronounced they are. This makes it easy to understand how the transient shaper works and how it affects the sound. The HOFA IQ-Series Transient will be released on July 18, 2023 and is already available for €79.90 in the presale. https://hofa-plugins.de/en/plugins/iq-transient/

  30. I updated my K10U to K14U, mainly because of the Session Guitarist series, but also Guitar Rig 6, Noire, and Kontakt 7. The Summer of Sound price for this update is €199.50 which (of course) is slightly below this €20 voucher €200 minimum spend, so to be able to use the voucher I also bought the cheapest Massive X preset bank I could find (€14.50). That gave me a bottom line of €194. They say that less is more, but sometimes more is certainly less.

  35. Tell you what. I was singing the praises for Bitwig in that beta thread, but someone sold me Studio One Pro 6 for $85 (for some reason) and it might be bye bye Bitwig now. At least for mixing. It is, however, absolutely in its own league, by a long shot, when it comes to plugin performance and MPE support.

  41. Yeah, I know that. That's why, in my former life, I was able to fix cars that nobody else seem to be able to fix. Because after some other Jackleg hack had thrown hundreds or even thousands of dollars worth of parts at the car and not only not fixed it but created additional problems, I would inherit the repair order and the first thing I would do would be to close up my toolbox, grab a cup of coffee and go sit down and start looking through the service information. And then I would often go put all the old parts back on and start over from the beginning and find out it was something stupid simple. Simple that is for someone who's not scared to crack open a book. People wouldn't get it when I would tell them that I didn't know anything about cars, I just knew how to read. It just boggles my mind the thought process of some people: "this thing looks really complicated and difficult and the manual for it looks complicated and difficult too so I'll just start randomly plugging things into other things and randomly poking around on buttons and by some miracle I'm going to magically figure it out." Yeah. That makes a lot of sense. I'm sure I'm in the minority here too as well, but what is there to be anxious about? Nobody had a heart attack, there's no arterial bleeding, no sucking chest wounds. It's just software. Nobody's going to die and nothing's going to blow up or catch on fire if you make a mistake. True, some things aren't in the documentation but most things are. Certainly "how do I get my MIDI keyboard to make sound" and "how do I get my microphone/ guitar to record " are. It constantly amazes me how much harder people end up having to work from being lazy.

  42. Morley dirt wah was the first pedal I ever bought. Sounded awful sold it for a significant loss and felt like I was ripping the buyer off. Why IKM would think replicating that in even lower fidelity and charge for it, is beyond me and annoyingly this will show up in you don't own it views in future updates.

  43. Maybe that's a Sonar bug that's been corrected in CbB and it's working properly now. Soloing affects audio, midi is not audio, it's data so as far as I'm concerned, it works correctly in CbB... Just my opinion but what do I know???

  44. Can’t believe that the moderators didn’t move all these questions to the proper forum? There’s actually no real info on “how to ask a question “ other than first post. It actually would have been great to place answers to the op here. Like where you should look first before asking a question etc I can think of lots of useful information that could have been here. And one of those answers would have been to not reply to questions placed in the wrong sub forum so the moderator can move it 😬
