  1. Ah yeah, I remember Mixcraft as a really nice all audio DAW almost completely designed after the original Mixcraft large format audio consoles hailed as Nashville's Finest. It didn't any MIDI support and they were boasting about that & the evils of open source MIDI support being 'the death of the musician'. 😆 I also remember it being the most "Cracked" DAW on the market and keygens for it were being placed at the top of the list on Google. 😆 It was really great for those who wanted to learn how to use a large format console, however not so much for the home recording enthusiast who just wanted to record their music as easily as possible and who could not care less about learning the finer details of audio engineering, and especially for those of us who just wanted to get our song ideas down with as little opposition and argument as possible. Oh yeah, as much as I hated to do it, I was one of the 1st kids on the block to replace my childhood friend/favorite human drummer with a Roland TR 707 MIDI drum machine as a studio drummer. But if I didn't I still be right there with him trying to record the perfect takes of "Stairway To Heaven" 😫and "Freebird". 🤮 It kinda turns the meaning of "You Get What You Pay For" into a pretty funny oxymoron, doesn't it? So many people were gleefully downloading the cracked version for free by the time the bakers at Acoustica realized that there actually nothing evil about open source MIDI support they didn't make enough money to develop support for MIDI. I also find it somewhere between hilarious and offensive how it infuriates some of my fellow CbB users that Bandlab doesn't charge anything anymore for offering continued support for such a powerful and highly sophisticated DAW. Talk about "LOOKING A GIFT HORSE IN THE MOUTH!" I for one am not the least bit angry, and am literally ecstatic that Bandlab is going to such great efforts of "Leveling the Playing Field" offering such a HUGE box of tools in creating such an open source environment to let ALL of our creative FREEDOMS FLY and at a price everyone can afford to do it without having to STEAL ANYTHING! Thanks to Bandlab, EVERYBODY now has now been afforded the PRIVALEGE to take their talents and skills are far as their imaginations can go.. 🦅 And that doesn't offend me in the least.. I was also one of those guys paying for upgrade SONAR Producer and PLATINUM and believe me, I got MORE then I paid for with all the bundled software. It's all about attitude... Suspicious minds always have a dim and cloudy reflection in the mirror... Negativity attracts negativity, haters gonna hate.. Positivity attracts positivity, and thieves gonna steal.. And success is all about reading the room and being able to give some honest💘 to that mug in the mirror. 🙏🏼☮ What Am I To You?

  4. v2 of their console strip and bus compressor plug-ins AKA the SSL Native Essentials Bundle. A little pricey @ $479, it was on sale earlier this year for $50 v2 is a free upgrade for owners of the original plug-ins.

  5. Hi Bassman 🙂 I'm sure that you're gonna need this even if you generally work with your controller. Think that you have 64 tracks. You can easily access the view of the EQ Panel by double clicking the Tiny EQ Graph. You have 8 channels on your controller. No problem. Just drag the WAI Control to the desired location which is the bottom green bar in this case. Or if you want to jump to the desired track with your controller, OK, use it. That's it. Now you are able to see the EQ Panel while altering the EQ by your controller.

  8. Problem resolved. Uninstalled 360 and reinstalled and BINGO...all good now! That was weird...everything being "greyed out" was why I just assumed that it needed hardware. That's what I get for "assuming", and you know what they say about that!

I see the dedicated link for the newest version, but need to learn features from a few versions back. Thanks

  21. OK, I want to say up front that I have an Amazon account and routinely buy stuff through them. And as was said before, nearly everything I buy through them is because I can't buy it locally. Plus I am not a big fan of Jeff Bezos personally. However... here is the thing I don't get about the Amazon hate. All Jeff Bezos did was take the Sears-Roebuck catalog and put it on a computer. I mean really, that's all he did. Before the computer it was called "Mail Order" - now its called "On Line Shopping". Its still the same. You find what you want based on a picture and a description, send in your order, and wait for the package to be delivered to your house. Through Sears you could order cars (http://searsmotorbuggy.com/Sears_history.php), a house (https://unbelievable-facts.com/2019/09/sears-homes.html), a barn (https://www.farmprogress.com/farm-life/mail-order-barns-popular-early-20th-century) and the live stock (https://blogs.ancestry.com/cm/the-11-most-memorable-items-from-the-sears-catalog/). You could order anything through the Sears store. Their only real competition was Montgomery Wards, but they were never a match for Sears. The thing is due to their catalog sales Sears and Wards had the infrastructure in place to take advantage of this new thing called the Internet, but they mad a conscious decision not to spend the money. By the time the tried to get into the game, it was too late. If they would have had the insight to invest in on-line shopping in the early days, I would venture to say that not only would they still be in business, but we would have never heard of Jeff Bezos and Amazon would only be the name of a river. In the end, Jeff really hasn't done anything that hadn't been done before. He just did it better than they did it before.

  22. UAD has a locked market, and it's DSP based, rather than CPU based, so there's a lot to consider, and they require a UAD Card/Interface to operate. To my ears, they definitely sound "better", and more "analog/alive" than standard plugins. And the biggest caveat with UAD Channel Strips and Preamps is the Unison Technology... but they ARE expensive, and that's why I bailed on them...I'm poor, and a hobbyist, and was getting "Sucked into the vortex" that I simply couldn't afford. End of this year I can start drawing Social Security, which will "change things" and I may venture back to that ABYSS...LOL

  23. Still too much $$. This is one of those plugins that would have been tempting years ago except the strangely excessive price. And it never goes on sale. And now there are a few more options available to do this around the same price point - very elegant options too! (Soothe and MSpectralDynamics) I demoed it awhile ago, but never thought twice about it because of the price. Why is this so expensive, especially compared with the rest of their plugins?? Dunno, it seems like they may have missed their opportunity to make a big splash on this one by years...

  24. I really feel for Sharke. He was genuinely running into some serious show-stopper bugs that very few people (devs included) could reproduce, which means it just couldn't be addressed. I have to admit, if I was running into bugs that affected my workflow that badly, I would have gone elsewhere too. How he was using SONAR didn't help matters - he was really pushing the limit for how automation was used, which was likely exposing stuff more than most people wouldn't have ever seen. The irony is that since then, quite a lot of work has been done on automation so there's a very good chance his problems have been resolved. Not saying there's not quirks to address yet, mind you, but I really think that since Bandlab got the IP, the Bakers have really put more of a focus on fixing a lot of this stuff as compared to the Roland/Gibson days which made guys like Sharke have to look elsewhere.

You lyrics in this one are a lot of fun to listen to, and cudos to your recording and pronunciation techniques, I can interpret ever word. The mix is pretty balanced sounding . . . though, I'd like to hear a bit more low kick / bass myself to round things out. I like how you just got back on your horse and kept riding . . .

  27. Welllllll....in this case, we are getting what we paid for, it's just that we paid for most of it years ago. Our license fees funded the first 30 years of development, and now that code base is owned by a company that wanted to keep developing it and let everyone use it for free as a promotional, brand-building product. There were some that were very upset that they had paid hundreds in licensing fees for a product that was now going to be free for everyone, but it's a fact that as a Cakewalk by BandLab user, I know that there is a lot of bonus material in that Platinum bundle that I can't get my hands on for any amount of money, and I also didn't get to use SONAR for all the time that the paid users did (although I did own a SONAR license back in the early 2000's before I set the hobby aside for a dozen years). I was using Mixcraft when Gibson pulled the plug. Mixcraft is a great little program, but a little program it is. I've found Cakewalk to be much more capable.

  28. What I don't get, is if you've got the Essentials Pack (Channel Strip and Bus Compressor), has there been an update since Feb 2021? Don't they have an email list and send out notices? Do current owners get updates? PS. I hate their website...

  30. I don't know if I'm going crazy, but I can't for the life of me figure out where to download this from the website. Within my account it sends me to this page to download: https://www.solidstatelogic.com/products/plug-ins but that's just the product page and when I click the Documents/Download button at the top it doesn't do anything. Man I'm sick of flashy websites that have poor functionality. ETA: In fact MOST of the links on their website do nothing as far as I can tell. Across the top only a couple of the links actually do anything for me. If I click Support, it does nothing at all.

  32. I did a couple of the demo songs for this one, Midnight being the first one on the playlist, a lot of fun. They made some welcome changes to the size of the GUI, as TGuitar was massive and overwhelmed my 1080p monitor 😳 I would love to see them update it with the MGuitar GUI size.

Previously when I would visit Bandlab I would receive an error message that my browser was not compatible and to please try Chrome. Now, the website connects. Thank you Bandlab Technologies for making the Bandlab website more inclusive. I've been having fun learning more about what I've been missing.
