  2. Sup dawg, I heard you like drums. Well, BestService is beating their own prices on these beats. Get it on. Bang a gong. SD3 and all SDX have dropped in price from when the deal was first posted by trager at the start of March. I'd kept the tabs open the past few days after the Easter codes came out and I refreshed the page earlier, just in case, only to be rewarded with some extra sweet last minute price drops. I'm not sure how long these prices will last, but I'm guessing it won't be long. Superior Drummer 3 was $276 now $251.26 and use #CHICK20 code to get it down to $231.26 with 8.97 BestCoin towards your next order SDX Orchestral Percussion now $234, I didn't manage to capture exactly what it was previously but it was at least $20 more. After #CHICK20 and BestCoin from SD3 I got it for $205.48. SDX Value Pack was $322 down to $293 and use the #CHICK20 code to get it down to $273 minus whatever BestCoin you have. As I bought this after Orchestral Percussion, it brought the avg price for Rooms of Hansa, Hitmaker and Death&Darkness to $88 each, for a total of $264.91 and left me with 10.47 BestCoin for my next purchase. https://www.bestservice.com/en/sdx_value_pack.html https://www.bestservice.com/en/sdx_orchestral_percussion.html https://www.bestservice.com/en/superior_drummer_3.html

  3. Looks like you can get Neold plugins for 9.99 and that's about it. Doesn't work with Neold plugins. Nice voucher in theory, worth nothing in the end. edit2: bx_subsynth is the only $9.99 plugin with this.

  4. Best sounding virtual grand I've ever played. If you want it, though, you might hold off until MSoundFactory LE comes up in an Eternal Madness or periodic 50% off sale. It comes with every MSoundFactory instrument, which includes Meldway Grand. The Monastery Grand that comes with the free MSoundFactory Player ain't no slouch either.

  9. $29 intro price WE ARE BACK WITH A NEW PLUGIN The VCE-118 is a unique dynamics tool based on the breakthroughs that occurred in the advent of VCA technology in the early Seventies. Its reputation as a secret weapon lies in its special ratio implementation, which enables both compression and expansion, combined with its special linear mode as a powerful fuel for bending dynamics as a creative effect. Naturally, the VCE-118 provides the ultimate punchy compression known from early VCA compressor flagships like the famous 160. But it doesn't stop there, since its expanded dynamic range surprises with intriguing effects reminding of gates and transient shapers. Linear mode can take this even further with sonic escapades like heavily pumping beats or dead silent ambience. The plugin is on introductory sale for only $29 ($59 regular) until April 29th, 2024. Download your fully functional 14-day trial here Hear the plugin in action here Check the product introduction video here https://fuseaudiolabs.com/#/pages/product?id=301086159

  14. Thanks for the insight. I'm coming at this from both the perspectives of someone new to Cubase, and a hobbyist who hasn't done that many orchestration projects. What you're saying does make sense with the parallel of hardware ports in mind, and can see how this could be a useful indicator, especially in larger projects and/or with shorter timescales. And this is an example of why I ask for opinions of those more experienced than I; thanks to all who've contributed.

  15. MIDI in Cubase definitely trumps a lot of DAWs. I've also found that the mixer in Cubase has ruined the experience of mixing in other DAWs. It's such a pleasure to mix in, that the others fall short when I compare them. I love some aspects of Ableton Live for example, but it's falls so short in mixing in comparison. Cubase isn't perfect and from everything I've personal tested, nor are the others, but they do get a lot right in so many ways.

  17. I prefer this, as I use both templates and external hardware FX. Just by taking a split second look at the channel-send section tells me what's being used & the level of each, without having to look at the names. If send 1, 3 & 7 are being used, I know what they are, and if 2, 4 & 8 are blank I know what's not being used. This applies to console view and channel view. This would be a mess if only used sends were stacked on top of one another regardless of Send #. This is also helpful from UI perspective when looking at 100 tracks in the mixer...since all send #s are on a horizontal line. I can just scan that line in the mixer and see everything going to Send #7 on a horizontal line. Same as a hardware mixer. If this wasn't the case it would be a nightmare for solving gain staging issues, especially with complex side-chaining setups. So there are features from hardware that I like having replicated in software. But having it as a simple preference setting would be cool too.

  30. It takes work to understand REAPER, but I ask: what useful enterprise does not require work? To comprehend REAPER one must understand that a track may be anything you can wish or imagine. An audio track, a MIDI track, a video track, a bus, a send, a submix, an aux track, a warm Summer afternoon, the memory of a lover's kiss, the idea of true brotherhood, or even the idea of ideas themselves. A track may contain matter in all of its states, gas, liquid or solid (plasma support is expected before the next dot release). It may contain light, sound, vibrations of all frequencies. Infrared! Ultraviolet! A track may be routed to a bus, or another track, a bus routed to a track, another bus, and any of them may be routed directly to the user's soul, and to the collective soul of all living creatures. REAPER is the yin, the yang, the alpha and the omega. It is the first DAW you should try and the last you'll ever need. REAPER! REAPER! REAPER.

  32. I already own it, but it's great to see it at this price. It's my go-to acoustic drum plugin, my favorite by far and I have a bunch of KONTAKT acoustic drum libraries, and AD2 and most of their libraries, but nothing comes close to SD3. Highly recommended.

  33. It's WAY longer than 2 years. I had a v4-v5 license that I needed to replace when v6 was released. I bought my v6-v7 license in early December, 2019, over 4 years ago! And v7 is just getting going. I just hope they make enough money to stay in business. I'd be more than happy to pay that $60 every 2 years. That's about how often Studio One gets a major version update. I can't find a receipt, but I think I pay 2-3 times that to PreSonus every couple of years.

  42. Frankly, I don't understand people complaining about Reaper's "complexity"! You don't have to do all the sophisticated stuff that is possible to do with it, it's possible to use it very simply for recording and/or midi instruments, no big deal! And in the same time that you would waste with other DAWs for installing, backups and activation games you can really create some music with Reaper! Surely, also Reaper has some flaws, but compared to other DAWs that I worked with it is amazingly stable, efficient and even if you are not so sapient in music production (like me), you are able to gain access to functionality that people in other DAWs just dream of! And this all for a very fair price! 😉

  45. Wow, that's a crazy price. I just picked these up a few months ago. But I still haven't gotten around to installing my new SSD to download them.. The demos sound gorgeous to my ears. [DISCLOSURE: I've stated this a bunch of times, but just to be transparent, 8Dio is one of more than 3 dozen developers I've given consulting advice to over the years. Although I've only advised them on the SoundPaint brand, not 8Dio.]

  46. I have the e-instruments Wurli and think it's pretty good. I find it's greatest strengths are in how you can customize the sound with the GUI. Especially for the dead key sound (I think it's the unplugged Wurli key sound that they mix in -- which is what I love so much about the AcousticSamples Wurlie library demos). I've created my own presets turning up that dead key sound that I like more than their presets. But I'd say it's a library I'm really glad I bought. I also bought the 145B from SkyBox Audio which has slightly different characteristics than the 201A -- it's more pristine. I have a bunch of Rhodes libraries, with the Famous E being my favorite and I quite like the freebie Rhodes from Fractured Audio too. @jngnz This was the video that sold me on the W. I'd strongly recommend checking it out.
