We still have a locally-owned and run music store in the NOLA area. It is really in Kenner, a suburb of NOLA. C and M Music Store. He has stayed in business by adapting to the new market. He has as many guitars hanging from the walls and ceiling as GC. Even has a custom line somebody is making out of car parts!! Has a full service repair shop that includes a Plek machine. And he will match or beat any price you find on line. And if the owner (forget his name) is in there you can strike up a conversation with him and he will gladly show you pics of his guitar collection. They have 4 locations over the southern Louisiana and Mississippi area. Last time I was in there I was wondering about how those acoustic amps sound. He has about four or five different types from Fishman to Fender and Ibanez. When I asked about them he started giving me all the ins and outs about them but recommend the Fishman hands down. He said the quality was just so much better. Then found myself a few days later in a restaurant with a guy playing acoustic slide blues. It sounded great and the amp he was using? Yep, Fishman!! When I go to buy one, I will get it from C & M. There's still some local shops around. But to stay viable and profitable, they will have to adapt.3 points

I don’t think you’ll find downloads for Sonar older than 8.5 in your account. To install those, you’ll need your installation disks.3 points

So I did and this is the result. Some spacey arpeggios and guitar. * From the Heather Dale band - check them out https://heatherdale.com/2 points

Part 1: No, you cannot record MIDI notes by clicking on the image of the keyboard in the SI-String Section VSTi Window with your mouse. Part 2: You can record MIDI notes by clicking on the image of the keyboard in the Virtual Controller. No: <------ SI-String Section (plug-in) Yes: <------ Virtual Controller (built into Cakewalk)2 points

In later versions of Win10, Microsoft broke the ability to disable CPU Core Parking (when running 12th or 13th Gen CPUs). That was that pivotal moment I'd been waiting for to move to Win11. I've heard that's since been fixed... but I'm not going back with any new builds. For a new build, I'd install Win11 Pro. Pro lets you fully disable Automatic Updates (Home does not). You also have the Group Policy Editor (which allows shutting down Cortana, OneDrive, etc). As @DeeringAmps mentioned, the Pro version just gives you more control.2 points

It's sad to see all the mom&pop music stores going away. The impersonal Big Box and Internet Order stores have taken over. Sure, you can get your strings for $1 less there, but you lose personal service that has been honed by years of experience. I was looking for a new mic for my sax. The Sure SM58 didn't reproduce it well. I went to the local store, the owner went to the recording studio in the back and handed me Sennheiser MD421. He said try it on the gig, and if you like it, I'll order one for you. No deposit, no credit card, just the trust of someone who has done business there. I tried it on the gig, and our Sunday gig was in an open air bar. One of my musician friends came to see us, and she said, "What have you done? Your sax sounds great, I could hear the difference in the parking lot!" Monday I went back to the store, with the mic in my hand, and he said, I'll order one, just keep using that until the new mic is delivered. The new mic came, and I just paid what he asked. A week later a Sam Ash catalog arrived in the mail (This was pre-Internet) and the MD421 was in it. Figuring what shipping and handling would have cost me, I actually paid a few dollars less at my M&P than I would have at Sam Ash. Having that service is why I bought all my reeds, strings, music books, and everything else there. When the Internet arrived, too many people when to him for advice, and then went online to get a better price. Now we don't have him anymore, just a couple of kids at the local GC store that are really not interested in you as a customer, and even if they were, they don't have the years of knowledge required to be able to help you. In other words, I feel your loss, Shane. Notes ♫2 points

Hi, Have you tried the Time Shift tool for your use case? The Bitwig Discord is where Bitwiggers hangout for more questions like this https://discord.gg/zc6S6rza Yea I found the opposite. I found the side by side clip launcher to arranger really inspiring over Abletons Mixer style clip launcher. I guess it depends on what you are doing as to which features appeal either way. Also Bitwig doesnt need retrospective recording baked in, thats the old constrained Ableton way of thinking. Bitwig's modular workflow lets you put multiple devices in line on the same track and the MIDI chains through so put in something like Birds MIDI cap on a track and you have a much more useful and visual retrospective MIDI record implementation than Live.1 point

So, the update is updating KONTAKT to run ads for users to visit NI's site for new sample libraries, paid and free. Is there an option to turn that off? I might accept that in a free sampler-- although I wouldn't like it; it's intrusive and annoying in a very spammy way -- but in a paid sampler? That's really unwelcome and I'm sure 90+ percent of users will agree. NI obviously only put in the promos for freebies to attempt to get users to get on board with this. Disappointing.1 point

As many plugins as some of us have, I would think the DAW would crash if we ever attempted to load EVERY plugin we have!! It would trigger some kind of spacial distortion that could rip the fabric of sound as we know it!!1 point

If you view the notes in the Event List, you can edit the start time of the notes in HMSF, so you should be able to match them exactly to the video frame. Alternatively, if you've got both the thumbnails showing and the video view open, the big time on the video view will show you the exact time in either HMFS or MBT for the thumbnail you click on in the video track.1 point

There's definitely something off about that. Now I'm vaguely remembering an issue with plug-ins that continuously report to the host that their settings have changed.... I had autosave set up to save after 10 changes, and these plug-ins were blasting out 10 changes in a matter of seconds, so the project was constantly saving. I don't remember what the fix was, I thought the devs came up with something. Bypassing plug-ins one by one will often flush out one that isn't playing nice with Cakewalk. If it's narrowed down in that way, you can start to figure out how to get them to cooperate.1 point

They ARE on fire, but when you choose to ignore it I guess you can invent a parallel reality designed just to contradict. Not to mention a lot more people would probably come up, if it weren't for individuals just like yourself, and if they thought their input actually solved anything. Anyway, thanks for your guessing intervention with no accuracy, intention to help, or info on the matter whatsoever, for the exclusive purpose of invalidating other people's experience. I guess people should return the favor sometime, it would be just fair. Since it appears it's ALL you do.1 point

There is a midi cache setting somewhere too. I have mine wide open. It can cause very slight delay on start while it filled the buffers. Buffers 128 playback Prepare using 1000 ms buffers Hope this helps1 point
