  1. Because of Corona virus I am panic buying virtual instruments and plugins.

  2. Thanks! Surprisingly, it works pretty well on sustained vocals as well (especially with the harmonizer feature)!

  3. Thanks for mentioning our software! AcouFiend is indeed capable of simulating feedback, but also sustain (use harmonic #1), e-bow tones and more. The idea of such a simulator as a plug-in is to either generate feedback/sustain at low volume while playing (for example on stage if you are using in-ear monitors and no amp, which happens more and more these days, or at home if you don't want to disturb neighbors), or to add feedback to existing tracks, after they have been recorded (it works better if you have the original dry signal of the guitar and re-amp it). It also works on non-guitar signals, as shown in the lead synth example below: It can create some pretty weird effects too, when used in the full wet path of a reverb or delay.

  4. I took a writing break and did my first cover song . Gary Clark Jr.'s Take me down south. I had a corrupt project that took me forever to finish. Any suggestions will be great. I'll remove the song afterwards. I did it just to keep for myself. Weapons - Godin Lapatrie , G&L asat , Homemade lap steel , old blues harp , SI drums . Thanks .. mark https://soundcloud.com/user-810058643/down-south-cover

  5. Sorry about that. Wasn’t really sure where the proper place is to do introductions and I don’t want you to think we’re trying to spam it up in here. Just stumbled on this thread and thought you guys might find it useful. I’d like to help out and be part of the discussion when possible. We’re a small production company out of Omaha, NE that has become a dealer for a growing number of software brands. The FX Chain was started to help promote our products better and connect with like minded people in this industry. I look forward to being part of the discussion and pointing out relevant deals when they come up.

  6. There it is folks. If Larry says so, it is so. I had an ad on kvr trying to score O9A for $125 but I'll just grab this and consider it a win (you know that Game of the Deal I'm always carrying on about and appear to be the only one playing lol) Btw, anyone notice how I got a deal in past Larry? Anyone? No 🤣 I didn't see the deal for MPS.. what's that going for? O9A is all I cared about anyway but yeah

  8. pulled the trigger on ovox at audiodeluxe - it worked out around $43 with the winter2020 code which added a bit of extra discount. more than the $29 I would have like but not enough to break the bank

  10. We do not have online accounts, but yes, once you register your first plug-in with us and accept to receive emails you will get the customer offers. Since the free plug-ins are 100% free and do not require any registration, we do not have your email address! Maybe we'll provide a registration option for the free plug-ins so that they are considered too in the future!

  11. If it's the same Craig I am thinking about, he is not behind the product, but we showed it to him at NAMM and he liked it!

  12. Apparently not. Nor does R4 replace R2. Several threads on this at KVR & Gearslutz. Also, the iZotope Stereo Reverb Bundle includes both Phoenix and Nimbus. Edith: on the other hand, I think only desperate verb lovers like me would buy Phoenix if they already have Nimbus. But hey, it’s like getting the laptop version for a tenner

  14. If anyone else may be in the market for O9A, and you currently don't have any Ozone products, with this Winter2020 code at AudioDeluxe you get Ozone 9 Advanced for $132.98 if you happen to own any paid Izotope product. Thanks @locrian for the heads up. If you got one of those "Elements" products as a free promo from a Plugin Boutique purchase some time ago that would work. https://www.audiodeluxe.com/products/audio-plug-ins/izotope-ozone-9-advanced-crossgrade-any-paid-izotope-product-including

  15. It works with just iLok's "software authorization" which has always worked fine for me and did this time too.

  22. They emailed out Coupon Codes to get it for $47... I have been asked personally by Blue Cat not to display the code, as it's for existing customers only. If you didn't get the code, and are customer, PM Blue Cat and they'll take care of I'm sure...

  25. Really good and in depth video Zo. I like how you kept the same music going throughout most of the video. That allowed me to really concentrate on the reverb itself. Nice choice of sharp transients in there! : ) I like how you went through each room, then each chamber, then each ISO Booth! And you also let the reverb speak for itself. Also liked the pace of the video. Nice and relaxed. I didn't get the sense that you were trying to shove a lot of info down my throat in a short period of time! As it goes it develops, allowing me to think while watching. Nice! : ) And boy did I get some ideas from that!! Thanks again Zo.

  30. I did a post on this a while back with a video showing how to set it up: The key thing with using instrument IR's is to crank up the gain, otherwise it's really quiet.

  31. This is the first Dev I've gone "all in" on and upgraded to the whole package. Whether or not that means they're "alive and well" I have no idea, but I LOVE these plugins!

  32. You can download a demo from the product page on the right hand side. I had a quick play and it seems good but I want to explore the MIDI options a bit more.

  34. The Frequout Pedal is a BLAST!!! Obviously not for Jazz/Pop players, But us Rock/Heavy Rock guys LOVE IT (ok...I LOVE IT 🤣) I haven't even looked at this video yet... Doesn't Softube's Acoustic Feedback do this too?

  35. It's not something I use all the time but when I do it's either for infinite sustain (similar to an e-bow) e.g. for legato runs or for re creating acoustic feedback on an overdriven sound. The sustainer pickup also lets you switch in feedback on a different harmonic which mimics what can happen in a live situation. From the brief play I had with AcouFiend it is able to cover those scenarios to some extent and is also MIDI controllable.

  36. Whenever I see "Softube FET Compressor", I mentally insert an extra A after the FET. I wonder whether it's how they get the cheese in the tubes ... I blame my medication.

  37. Using the $20 off of $50 promo combined with the WINTER2020 coupon code allowed me to knock-off two of the plugins on my Waves wishlist: Abbey Road Vinyl and Scheps 73 for $34 ($17 each). You can get a similar deal at Everyplugin.com.

  38. It seems pretty nice Soundwise. Excuse my ignorance as to who CA is but she/he must be inspired! Found this.. I have a Burny Les Paul with a sustainer pickup which I really like but would like to be able to do what it does on other guitars. Mesh convinced me to go for the Digitech pedal but I wondered if there was a software equivalent. I searched but drew a blank.... Until now!

  40. I've been able to get a HUI compatible ]controller (Yamaha DM2000) to work with Ableton Live that does not support HUI. I use Bome MIDI Translator Pro and use it to convert HUI to Mackie (which Ableton Live DOES support). If anyone is interested, reach out to the Bome forum as I am the moderator there and can point you in the right direction. The user I helped uses a 24 channel Yamaha DM2000 while I use a Novation Launch Control XL (in HUI mode) and Korg NanoKontrol2 (in HUI mode) to test with.

  41. I recently purchased the Past to Future Martin D-18 impulse response files from here. These IR's were recorded in Mono, Stereo, with 3 Mics and all with different mic positions. (All Vintage Neumann mics with Telefunken mic pres). Digital and audio tape versions are included. Here're clips of the acoustic guitar bridge pickup DI from a song I'm mixing with and without the digital stereo 3 IR effect in the MConvolutionEZ.

  46. Hi Larry , you are such a clever fella, I like all of your stuff ...... its just so good , I wrote a song with just piano , drums , bass, orchestra and a vocal , as I´m in no way a pianist it was O.K but didnt fullfill its potential , the strings were just the same chords as the piano and didnt weave in and out of the melody as they should .so listening to you gives lots of ideas on how I can improve .cheers paul DB
