  3. We can access and insert the images others post. We can even resize them and place them where we want as I have done here: I can also delete them from my post by editing. From what I can see we are only changing the images we have "borrowed." It doesn't look like we are changing the original images, just the characteristics of the copies we have linked. Not 100% sure what is going on. I have done this with my own images, by using a previously posted attachment as a link to the stored original. <<< Copy of image I posted in 2019 reduced.
  4. https://www.soundtoys.com/superplate-intro-namm-2023/ Looks like SoundToys is back from the dead and finally releasing Super Plate. Worth it? You decide!
  5. So-called “modern miracle” features a new modelled tonewheel engine and a new Leslie speaker emulation https://www.musicradar.com/news/hammond-xk4-b3-organ Hammond is calling the XK4 “a modern miracle” and, while that might be overstating it a bit, it does appear to be a keyboard that gigging B3 aficionados will want to take a close look at, particularly as it weighs just 20 pounds. Now we just need to find out how much it’s going to cost. https://youtu.be/KNKEV_3q7p8
  6. Tone Junkie has a NAMM special. NAMM80 has been working to get 80% off. https://tonejunkiestore.com/

  10. ~ Thanks, I really appreciate all the helpful suggestions! ...so I just need to pick a naming convention and stick to it. As each Project is opened, re-name using the new Naming convention and make sure the Folder + Projects + Exported Audio are all the same. like what @Tom Taylor listed, I need to figure out some meaningful shorthand for all this info! The BAND name will tell me what playing style is happening. (Heavy, Classical, Orchestral, Quad Tapping,, etc.) 1) How dangerous would it be to rename Folders and Projects outside of Cakewalk, Would it mess with the linked Audio? Some projects are outside of a folder and there are a few loose "Audio" folders that's one reason I'm trying to get this figured out. The names for the different Tuning is a challenge, open for suggestions. Semantics is an issue Like "KEY" for Legend or symbols not the key of the Song. Capo, with a K makes more sense since "K" is not a musical note, but ...well look up that word. 2) can we use "(6}" or "[8]" in a file and Project name? TAGS NECESSARY IN FILE NAME BAND - SONG - DATE - GUITAR + STRING# - TUNE- CATEGORY - VERSION TAG IDEAS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- A-440Hz STRING # 6S = Six String / Nylon = 6SNY / Acoustic = 6SAC 7S = Seven String 8S = Eight String QT - Quad Tap TUNE 6S ..................................................................................................E.-A-D-G-B-e 6S Drop D (E down to D).....................................................D-A-D-G-B-e 6S Drop C (E down to C) Capo 3rd Fret at (A-e) .......C-C-D-G-B-e / Open Strings (C-A-D-G-B-e) 6S HSB (Heart Shaped Box)...............................................D-A-E-A-C-e 7S............................................................................................G-C-G-C-F-A-D 8S.................................................................................F# B D A D G B e drop D = dD 6S drop C = 6S dC c3a-e (this looks atrocious! lol) Godin(6) drpC 3rdFrtCapo ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Example (Old Version) FOLDER: 2019 Epics Godin 1 2019 Epics Godin 1.cwp 2019 Epics Godin 1.wav Example (New Version) FOLDER: Elef Luna Oscura 2019-04-30 Godin dD DEM 01 Elef Luna Oscura 2019-04-30 Godin dD DEM 01.cwp Elef Luna Oscura 2019-04-30 Godin dD DEM 01.wav 8 String Guitar Project Example (Old Version) qt_agile8_mosquito_sketch01_MASTER.cwp Example (New Version) QT Mosquito 2012-10-02 Agile 8S dD TRK 01

    UAD $50 Coupon Code

I used an RME UFX for last 10 years or so and it was always rock solid. I have had an a UAD card since they were released. I recently got an Apollo x4 on Windows and really got into the unison preamps, console app (though RME TotalMix is far more flexible), and the whole UA interface. I thought I’d keep my RME UFX to track natively low latency, but I get 32 samples on the x4 with no issues and then didn’t seem the need to keep the RME which I sold last week (and felt bad letting it go!) I do need a few more inputs so will wait to see if anything is announced at NAMM and get additional UA interface next month. They are all cool tools for sure. RME does drivers right no doubt.
  12. I've always wondered if "age-related" hearing loss isn't just nature's defense against our noisy world. We now know that it isn't really age-related at all, e.g. the hearing acuity of an 80-year-old from a remote tribe in the Amazon is as sensitive as that of a young child in urban America. In a 2008 talk by a hearing specialist at NAMM, they said that current teens have the hearing sensitivity of a 50-year-old fifty years ago. They chalked it up to in-ears at high volume for long hours. And predicted that by the time today's teenagers are in their 50's, hearing impairment will have become epidemic and a major health crisis. They also noted that one of the worst occupations for hearing loss, those who lose their hearing faster than average, was mix engineers. That hit hard for the audience, who were mostly mix and mastering engineers. They didn't have to include performing musicians. We already know we're screwed.

    Sad Day

It is definitely one of the toughest things ive taken on Wookie. I am a vet, ex para and you can forget all this elite British forces nonsense, nothing compares to getting up at 3 in the morning to screams when you mum falls out of bed and breaks her tib and fib, lifting her in bed when she naked, puke everywhere from her pain, her heart monitor machine flashing red and then waiting 13hrs for a f**king ambulance. She got a heart monitor device by her bed what sends signals to the hospital but did not speed up the process due to her triple heart bypass, kidney disease and diabetes. I don’t even know what’s the point of having this state of the heart (pun) £1000 bit of useless kit by her bed, well some government private firm (Tory Donor) on a large mark-up probably. Yeh it can send a signal to hospital faster than I can call the hospital to wait 13hrs, insane illogical system. The medication Dr always get wrong, now we order it online, Dr authorises it, go and pick it up and only half of it is there or its wrong at least 4 times a year, more petrol and parking for a second trip after number 19 in the queue to speak to the Dr that screwed it up haha. I have to laugh. I’ve only been doing this from 2019, ruined my relationship and I am constantly managing stress, thank the universe for music and cakewalk haha. Unfortunately, I live in the south UK down in Plymouth and all our Family is up North in Leeds which means I do everything on my own without much of a break which as you know is distressing at times, an emotional punch bag and you have to make life sacrifices. I lost a big contract in Philippines that would have pretty much helped me for live financially, to now scraping by but was my choice. All the decisions have been the hardest thing I’ve done, its my mum and totally understands you 100% regarding the Family. People don’t understand, not even Family that are not fully involved doing the work, I get the vibe in the song, we put everything we experience into music, that sometime we can’t say or express. I all always appreciate people’s music and can hear where people’s moods and emotions were at the time of writing. Theres two types of songs, (i) the people that just writes a song, traditional verse chorus etc chooses something to write about, maybe a experience they had in the past or they have a idea from a riff etc mush of these can sound manufactured. Then there’s the songs what we just write in the moment, from what’s happening in our life, the feelings and emotions we going through, they are the best songs, the real songs we write with mood which your doing here.

    Sad Day

My mums out of Hospital for the 3rd time since I moved her into my place in 2019. I give a good level of care and totally understand how hard it is with anyone close. Well it can ruin relationships or you can find out who someone really is. Its stressful, lonely and can create that sad vibe for sure. I try to stay away from sad songs but i do appreciate listening to other peoples real expression. Nice work Wookie

  16. One week only? Lucky guy! My last system set up (2019) took about 1 month until most of the plugins and other software was properly working! Most trouble was caused by the motley authorization and installation ideas by many developers! It took some time to find out how to do it! How I was glad about all those plugin providers that had a simple offline authorization (none, file, key or registry) or the ones that had iLok! But many of the others with machine dependency were a nightmare! The same thing with the installation: The worst are those like NI that require to re-download a lot of the stuff (the cool installation managers)! NI alone took quite some time! That is also the reason why I push the W10 update of my recording pc along. It runs fine with W7. Why to fix something that isn't broken?
  17. As for Waves’ version history, here goes: Version 7=Nov. 2009 Version 8=Jan. 2011 Version 9=March 2012 Version 10=June 2018 Version 11=October 2019 Version 12=October 2020 Version 13=October 2021 (M1) Version 14=June 2022 so I guess we’re up for version 15 ”the one without the Wup”
  18. I do see those offers at Humble Bundle and have been tempted in the past, but have always wondered whether I'd get any real use out of an update. Three years ago I picked up Corel Paint Shop Pro 2019 at a steal from Humble as an update to a beta of version 5 from 1998 ... I still use version 5.
  19. I've seen Magma 2019 and it was as impressive as in the 80th.They had played for 90 minutes, not for 3,5 or 4 hours like in the 80th. Warren Haynes / Gov't Mule are still a very good live band, a very good drummer and guitar player in the gig in 2018.
  20. I ent seen live performances since 2019. And TBH there are legacy acts that I'd pay to see anymore. I would still pay to see John Hiatt, Marc Cohn and The Fab Faux. It's downhill fast on who I'd like to see live.
  21. May 2019 first time (i.e., non-update) purchase (before I found out that SONAR had been resurrected): Samplitude Pro X4 Suite, Celemony Melodyne Essentials, SOUND FORGE Pro 11 $149.00 USD May / June 2020 upgrade offer e-mail: Samplitude Pro X5 Suite US$249 September -> November 2020 upgrade offer: Samplitude Pro X5 SuiteUS$199.00
  22. I would like to request an enhancement to Cakewalk by Bandlab please. Specifically, the ability to be able to assign keyboard shortcuts for the "Minimize Strip" and "Restore Strip Size" features for a track, to avoid needing to mouse click on the small buttons (see screenshot below). I asked if this was possible in the forum (https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/54233-is-there-a-keyboard-shortcut-for-minimizing-and-restoring-the-height-of-a-track-strip) but no-one has suggested to me that it is possible. After some Googling I found that @synkrotron asked about this in 2019 also (https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/1401-keyboard-shortcut-for-minimise-strip-and-restore-strip-size/), so it sounds like it has been desired by users for some time. The following features that ARE keyboard accessible cannot be used as workarounds: Auto Track Zoom (only allows one track at a time to be in expanded state, and I may wish multiple to be expanded) CTRL-SHIFT-Up/Down (incrementally changes the height of a track, and if used to "minimize" a track, its desirable expanded height is forgotten, and you must then incrementally increase it back to the desired height The "Minimize Strip" and "Restore Strip Size" buttons are perfect for my needs because, in one operation, they can collapse a track to its minimum height, or resize it back to its optimum, previously set size. Having the ability to do this via the keyboard would be a huge benefit to efficiency of workflow. Thanks for your consideration.
  23. the vocals are actually from my original demo and i chopped them up and melodyned the crap out of them to get them to sound reasonably close. i was going to only use them as a reference and re-record them, but after listening to them, i thought, hey - these are kind of quirky in a good way so i'll leave them for now. mainly the only other effect was long delays on the "clean water" section and then reverb as part of the overall room. on the "viking march" at the end, the bom-boms - i used melodyne to drop them low and auto-panned them. i had done that in the demo and it was freakish so i had to keep the concept... update: using my Synth V vocals with background singers as well. in this recording - the instruments are all computer generated with some tweaking, except the solo. i used HookPad, Scaler, patterns, etc to create the tracks, and in HookPad where i used some instruments, i substituted some of those for other sounds. so when i started writing this song (or parts), it as 2016. then a close friend passed in 2018, and as i worked on it, i took some of the things that were part of our life experiences and shaped lyrics around that - our wiccan / earth magic beliefs, drunkeness / etc, blues music, etc and it seemed to stream together. i put the demo together (mainly played live on acoustic guitar and double bass) in 2019 but didn't really record it "proper" until late last year. --- yes i know Quetzalcoatl is mispronounced 🙂
  24. This isn't 2019 you know. You can get injections that stop you from getting viruses now. Are you stupid or something?
  25. Hope so. Still waiting since 2019.... AAS reproduced the issue few years ago when I reached them.
