kept seeing his ads on YouTube and looked interesting. Saw he has a BF freebie so good time to try them out. https://philspeiser.com/product/the_build/ CREATE STUNNING BUILD-UPS WITH A FEW CLICKS Making a drop or chorus stand out is all about the tension. Usually, in music production, you either reuse the same buildup loops over and over, or you start from zero – searching for the right samples, combining various plugins, layering samples, arranging them meticulously, processing each layer, creating risers with a synth, applying intricate filtering, editing every tiny detail, and juggling multiple plugins yourself. THE_BUILD simplifies this process. Now, you can quickly choose a ready-made buildup or create your own unique one with just a few clicks. With THE_BUILD, crafting amazing build-ups, no matter how complex, is easier than ever before.10 points

We have made improvements to the CDN used as well as the installation process overall (including server-side updates) so it does make sense that everything shows correctly now and is smoother in general. We've seen people who have reinstalled some very large libraries with only a few clicks and zero issues since this change and will continue to monitor and make sure the changes provide a better experience and continue to move forward.6 points

It’s very much worth noting that even if you already own Tomofon, you get to pick the 2 free expansions when buying this. I was only missing Jussi and paid $9ish for that and the two expansions.4 points

Yes, it's an infomercial for Gullfoss. But it includes relatable demonstrations of frequency masking that makes it worth a watch. During the month of November, Gullfoss is 40% off. Be aware, though, that this plugin uses Pace copy protection and requires an iLok account. For me, that means Gullfoss will never be part of my collection. Fortunately, I have other, non-iLok, processors that resolve frequency masking well enough.3 points

All is good now. As always it's a plug in! But it's very weird that safe mode didn't work. That sucks because then you don't actually know what was causing the crash. I think it was just Ample P Bass which is on every project. I re installed it and this time made sure it was in the correct folder. After that Cakewalk now opens. Now the projects all open but with a long list of missing stuff that I will have to add. As I was troubleshooting I downloaded and ran the Resplendence Latency Monitor. I notice they had another free app called Why So Slow which was prefect as it did a pretty good job of testing all my components. It passed with flying colors. Thank goodness it was just a stupid plug in. Thanks everyone for your help!3 points

Now yes, IKM is up to a serious company like the vast majority, so I don't see the reason to congratulate those who really weren't behaving as such.3 points

Just checked in Windows update and sure enough the chipset was waiting to be installed. I keep forgetting that after a fresh install you should really keep running Windows update over and over. This might have something to do with it. Needs to be done anyway. So Cakewalk is on hold until this puppy is stable and finished updating. It was probably trying to update while I was doing all this.3 points

Based on your profile picture I just have to say I didn't do ******* ****! Edit, though, to clarify I did have a bit to do with this so I did do ******* ****. That would be something for the support team to look into by looking directly at your account. IK Product Manager did not have offline authorization from the go. However a bug that was requiring you to be logged in to IK Product Manager to use your products has been fixed. It was only meant for the new Pianoverse subscriptions (log in every 72 hours) but it affected other products and has been fixed, if that's what you meant. Yes!3 points

@Peter - IK Multimedia I foolishly bought 10 advance reloads and used 2 or 3. Do I get my money back?3 points

Thanks to my friend @Peter - IK Multimedia for advocating for this change. It's greatly appreciated! You're a hero to our little group here. I'm grateful. I have a few libraries I've put off spending $10 to re-download that I can now start using!3 points

Four priceless amps. One mind-blowing collection. The ODS Legends Signature Collection for TONEX gives you instant access to 4 priceless Dumble Overdrive Special amplifiers. Found behind many of the world’s best players including Robben Ford, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Larry Carlton, David Lindley, John Mayer and more, the Overdrive Special is sadly no longer made today, easily fetching 6 figures when a rare example goes to auction. As a bonus, we’ve also included 2 legendary overdrive pedals known to pair perfectly with Dumbles to further push your tone in exciting directions. IK had the exclusive opportunity to capture each of these incredible amps while they passed through world-famous Ocean Way Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, a studio renowned for its superior recording facilities and long history of hosting legendary musicians. All amp and pedal settings were dialed in by tone experts to a variety of sweet spots from clean to overdrive and meticulously captured in between recording sessions. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/tonex-odslegends/#top2 points

Seriously! After those $14 plugins, this isn't even remotely interesting. 🥱 Plus, my last $25 "thank you" coupon expired... I am loving my new UAD plugins though!2 points

BandLab does indeed have the Splitter tool, which will split a stereo mix into separate bass, drums, vocals etc. I believe Cakewalk Next will have this feature too. I'm not sure if the new Sonar will have this feature on day one of release, but I AFAIK it's in the pipeline.2 points

After a fair amount of back and forth bitching and evidentiary wrangling they offered me a reasonably solid deal on the Signature upgrade (I am one plug shy of the old Mix bundle at present). I'll give them credit for that, although I had to be zealous. I haven't taken the plunge as I'm going to wait and see how BF shapes up elsewhere. I don't want to reward this shoddy nonsense with my cash but I do love the UA plugs I have. Hard call. The again, how many compressors and EQ's does a human really need? Especially a hobbyist schmuck like me? I know, wrong question hereabouts.2 points

IK is pleased to announce a new version of the IK Product Manager available to improve the experience of all IK virtual instrument users. From today, you can reload any of your instrument sound files at any time with version 1.0.10 of the IK Product Manager. There are no more fees or time restrictions for these downloads. Until now, if you didn't or couldn't download all of your IK virtual instrument sounds files within a 180-day timeframe following registration, you'd be required to purchase a "Sounds Download Reactivation Credit" for an additional 180 days to download the sounds. We trust this new policy is welcome news for many IK users. We still recommend that you back up any sound files you download, but they'll be in IK Product Manager if you need them again. IK Multimedia Instructions To get the latest version, launch IK Product Manager and follow the prompts to update. Or for new installations, you can download IK Product Manager here.2 points
