  1. Note: These are now VST3 Dear Friends, As you might know, our parent company, Plugivery Distribution, also owns and powers Nomad Factory, Plug & Mix and BBE Sound plug-ins. Well today, we are proud and excited to announce that we have finalized and launched major updates to both Nomad Factory's flagship products, Pulse-Tec EQs and All-Tec EQs. These plug-ins are faithful emulations of the legendary PULTEC & ALTEC hardware equalizers, and they are now version 2.0, that brings full support to the latest Windows and macOS operating systems, as well as native compatibility with the latest Apple Silicon chips. This is also a Major Upgrade to both Pulse-Tec EQs and All-Tec EQs plug-ins, adding useful new modules and features to the product line as well as completely redesigned, hi resolution and resizable GUIs, and two different skins (Classic and Fancy White). [These UPGRADES are FREE for all previous owners] The two plug-ins are now packaged within a new Bundle named Retro EQs Bundle that contains both Pulse-Tec and All-Tec EQs installers. See the Online User Manual for more product info The Pultec EQs Story The Pultec EQP-1, the first passive program EQ, was introduced in the early 1950s and revolutionized recording techniques by allowing more control over the sound. The Pultec EQs gained popularity because they improved any signal that passed through them, even in bypass mode. They are still being used today. The EQP-1 was followed by the EQP-1A (with some variations of the low end curves) and other Pultec models such as the MEQ-5 for midrange and the HLF module for high-pass and low-pass filtering. The Pulse-Tec EQs by Nomad Factory faithfully reproduce the original hardware units' curves and offer the three modules in a single plugin. But the new version also adds four unique features that make the Pulse-Tec EQs 2 by Nomad Factory the ultimate Pultec emulation: LINKABLE Boost/Attenuation: The Classic Pultec Trick (for punchy low end) is easier than ever to achieve. 2 MID CUT BANDS: The dream feature that every engineer has always wanted; you can finally remove boominess and harshness at the same time. ANALOG CIRCUITS: You can adjust the amount of harmonic distortion and make it sound clean or you can go beyond and enhance the vintage tube and transformer vibe, just like from the original unit. MIX: You can blend dry and processed sound to create subtle or dramatic variations. See the Online User Manual for more product info The Altec EQs Story The Altec 9063 EQ was a very popular mastering EQ in the 1950s, and the graphic models 9062 and 9073 were also known as the Ultimate Motown EQs. The new Nomad Factory All-TEC EQs v2 (formerly All-Tech 9063b EQ) emulates all the features of the Altec EQs, plus the very precise high-pass and low-pass filters. With All-TEC EQs v2, you can experience the "legend" of the Altec EQs in a single plugin! The adjustable analog saturation makes it sound closer than ever to the original units, and you can also boost the harmonic content beyond the natural level and make it sound more gritty and aggressive. The extra mix control feature is perfect for blending in some of the dry signal and creating unique tone variations. See the Online User Manual for more product info The Pulse-TEC EQs v2 and All-TEC EQs v2 are the perfect combo to bring the classic top-class vintage sound to your DAW. Try them out ! 15. https://www.eventideaudio.com/plug-ins/#immersive Blackhole Immersive expands the signature sound of the stereo version of Eventide’s otherworldly reverb across an entire immersive mix. Eventide’s iconic MicroPitch panned pitch and delay effect is relied upon by legions of engineers for the creation of beautiful and wide stereo soundfields. Now, with MicroPitch Immersive, the proven power of strategically decorrelated sound is pushed into three dimensions. With both plugins, the Front, Top and Rear speakers can be EQ’d separately, and users can smoothly morph between two distinct settings – ideal for sound design. Both plugins are available for immediate download at an MSRP of $499 USD each, or bundled at $200 USD off. Owners of the stereo versions save 20% of their purchase.

  16. I can repro this issue, but unfortunately the ship has sailed for CbB, so it'll have to be fixed in Sonar. In the meantime, make sure both the track and bus are solo'd.

  19. I recently discovered Julian Krause's Youtube channel. He does exhaustive analyses of audio interfaces and gives all the performance specs you can never get from the manufacturer. Below is his review of the AudioFuse 16 Rig. There's a chart at 22:13 that shows RTL of 8.1ms (389 samples) at 48kHz with 64-sample buffer - okay, but not great. The MOTU Ultrlite MK5 I was looking at recently did 6.9ms in his testing. But I'll be sticking with my trusty old PCIe-based MOTU that does 4.5ms (217 samples). USB is always slower; I'm not sure whether the generation of the USB bus matters that much.

  20. Is it bad for the price? Absolutely not. But if you have more to spend, you may prefer other options. I own BFD Eco and they've priced the upgrade for that at $49 USD for at least a few years at this point -- they've been on version 3 for -- I would guess -- at least a decade. The plugin has been plagued with a ton of technical issues and that is why I've never upgraded. BFD3, even by the acknowledgment of one of the developers who works on the team on this forum, is dated. It's not competitive with SD3, but then, it's also a small fraction of the price. I'd boil it down to this. If budget is a significant factor and ezDrummer and AD2 are out of reach, I would say it's worth picking up for $49 USD from what I know -- and again, I don't own it. You might want to first download and install BFD Player. It's not the same library and it's much newer, but you'll at least get a feel for the developer's work.

  32. I bet you that they will. I shared in this forum that I was probably going to purchase the metering bundle then but it seemed that everyone -- including a few people who've given me some pretty good advice over the years -- were like, why would you bother with that? Consequently, when my fellow gear addicts question buying something -- which is so rare and shocking it gets my attention and I gave up my plans and didn't buy it. But lately the idea has entered my mind again and I may pick it up, if it's offered on BF. Reign me in now fellas if you think this is a mistake!

  33. I wouldn’t touch it, even for $29. There’s a reason I uninstalled it and invested in SD3, mainly the terrible re-validation that erased all settings from BFD3 tracks on old projects. The interface is also tiny. Great sounds though.

  36. First make sure none of the VST instruments you are using have midi output enabled Second uncheck all but your controller in t preferences/midi /devices/ input It will then default to none and your keyboard will work. I find if you assign your keyboard under this set up and you reopen the project later it’s still the input device. Always leave the controller connected.

  37. I did not try and install the Reaper -> DAWproject yet. I did export from Studio One Pro v6.x (latest) and then import DAWproject file into Bitwig Studio 5.011. Sadly, the playback had elements out of sync. I think it was the drums as those tracks all had active AutoAlign 2 on them and I suspect that may have caused some grief. At another time I'll try and mute the AutoAlign2 plug and see if that fixes the situ. Also the other bugaboo was the project was not entirely in 4/4 and the song had a slowed down tempo at the last two measures. It appears that none of that happened. I need to discover how to see the tempo map in Bitwig to verify that. one track is MIDI and without that tempo map more trouble can abound I suspect. So for right now, SO->DAWproject->Bitwig is not ready for primetime until I can find out if there more I need to do about the tempo map.

  42. [UPDATE 19-Oct-2023: Cakewalk 2023.09 Update 1 (build 29.09.0.075) now available] We're pleased to announce the 2023.09 release! This release is primarily a maintenance release and includes over 60 bug fixes for user reported issues. Please note: Version 2023.09 will likely be the last update to Cakewalk by BandLab (CbB). CbB will eventually be discontinued as future development and support will transition to the upcoming Cakewalk Sonar release. All Cakewalk products require activation. Changes to the activation server require that all earlier versions of Cakewalk by BandLab must be updated to version 2023.09 in order to activate successfully. If you wish to continue to use CbB, you must update to the 2023.09 version. Earlier versions will cease to activate in the future. BandLab Assistant is no longer used for installing or activating CbB or other Cakewalk products. You must use in-app activation as described below. You can continue to use BandLab Assistant, but not for Cakewalk products. In order to activate CbB, you must sign in to your BandLab account by choosing Help > Sign In to BandLab. When the sign-in web page opens, enter your BandLab credentials to sign in from there. If activation was successful, you will receive a "Cakewalk is fully activated" confirmation message. Note: Opening a web browser to independently sign in to BandLab will not activate Cakewalk. Version 2023.09 currently does not support offline activation, so your computer must be online to activate it. Offline activation will be available soon. In order to automatically keep your activation status up to date, Cakewalk will renew your activation status whenever a new version of the application is installed and run for the first time, and when you sign in to BandLab from within Cakewalk. If you have never signed in to BandLab from within Cakewalk, you will be prompted once to sign in. Thanks, The Bakers To download and install the 2023.09 update, select Help > Check for Updates from within the app. Note: Because earlier versions of Cakewalk can no longer be activated, there is no rollback installer available for the 2023.09 release.
