  1. Thanx Reid! Not hardly a god...nothing close... but I put in a LOT of work....way more than most realize... I start at 5 am...and go all day long trying to keep track of all of these sales, and trying not to double post, and trying to make sure that I've put the requested "disclaimers" i.e... Full Kontakt, iLok, eLicenser...etc...in the posts...it's takes a lot of time and effort...despite what some people think!

  3. It's nuts. I was up early, but didn't even get to eat breakfast until 11. I'm typing all day and I'm always behind. I don't know how King Larry does it. The man is a God. Maybe it's because I still haven't gotten over my Covid shot? No morning bike rides for me from now on.

  4. Each plugin is a work of art. I had to stop using Pro-R because rather than applying reverb to my track, I'd end up staring at the beautiful display for hours. 😀

  10. You can't put a lot of metadata into a standard wav file because the file spec it's based on (RIFF) simply doesn't provide any standardized place to put it. That's why most of that kind of information is handled at the host level, e.g. a CD's TOC or a DAW's project file. Mostly all you get in a standard wave file are essential technical information such as sample rate, word length, interleave and number of channels. Yes, the standard is extensible and can even contain ID3v2 tags, but such variants are not universal and can be problematic. Think about how many times users have come here for advice because they inadvertently imported a BWF (a RIFF-based format that does support metadata) and were confused when it didn't behave like the WAV file they assumed it was. MP3 and similar formats, OTOH, were designed specifically to have self-contained, portable metadata to facilitate music distribution. Consequently, there is almost no limit to what kinds of information they can contain. Even then, not all fields will be meaningful to all applications. Bottom line is that it's not an oversight in the DAW that prohibits you from entering metadata for a wav file. If an application does provide such features, it's probably writing a nonstandard format that other applications may not understand. The wave files that Cakewalk writes, however, can be read by any DAW and most players, making it possible to collaborate across different DAWs and platforms. As long as you stick to widely-used formats, anyway. Here's a reference that might help. It lists applications that can write ID3v2 tags to wave files. My longtime go-to for things like that are the free foobar2000. This is a very useful tool to have on hand.

  14. Gotta admit I kinda miss the excitement of Thanksgiving morning thinking of what may be in Black Friday sales. All this Early BF thing I am not a fan of. I notice all the stores are jumping on this early thing, not a fan. I also miss the Best Buy ad I used to get with my newspaper. Call me Old Fashioned

  15. The 12 Days starts up on December 6th. They usually do a BF sale on selected libraries and that stuff doesn't end up as 12 Day deals.

  16. Just a quick Thank You. My studio (Pie Man Sound) briefly switched from Sonar to Protools when Gibson stopped support, but I've been on Cakewalk by Bandlab since you "rebirthed" it. More than 1000 projects later, I've never lost a track, and aside from a few blips, the stability and functionality has been fantastic for both full band tracking on a console, and for one-person sessions where the musician is also the engineer. And most remarkably, service improved when the software became free. Whatever you are doing, it is very much appreciated - all day, every day. Thanks!

  17. Picked up my upgrade to Hyperion Strings Elements. Had a discount code in my pocket from my purchase of Hyperion Strings Micro last year, and was able to combine that with the latest sale price! Upgraded for $34.60.

  23. Hello! This is a song almost mixed. I have to cleen up the voice tracks ("ssss", "plop", and so on) and to fix some reverb effects (e.g 0:49). What's your opinion? Vocals more loud or quiet? It seems to be a little too much "in the face" when switching to a mono listening.

  24. Well it was either that or someone was going to add Yellow Submarine, right?

  25. Unrelated to this sale I recently put together a guitar passage where I ran the same passage through Eventide’s Blackhole, then through Valhalla Shimmer then through EOS 2. All of them sounded terrific with their own character. I liked all of them very much. I played it for a friend and he liked them all but liked the EOS 2 portion the best. It has just a slightly cleaner aspect within the reverb.

  26. Seeing all of these awesome icons on my desktop gives me a warm happy feeling. Until I ask myself, "which one today?" 🤣 My solution: Just open Analog Lab V and look for an inspiring sound. Then launch the full synth UI when you have something you want to tweak...

  28. I have resisted upgrading my V Collection since 2016, but they've got me this year for $99. That was on my list if they had this price. But their FX Collection was not on my list because I already have more reverbs, compressors, etc. than I can use. But I do admit there are some very unusual plugins ithere that could be fun to play with. And they all look beautiful. Even if they aren't any better than the ones I own, they look stunning. Good artist. My memory is that it was $99 for me to get the original set and now it is $69 to get version 2 which has more stuff. Hmmmm.... This is definitely GAS at work.

  30. I'm confident that every store that handles Arturia will have the discounts when Arturia starts the sale. Somebody on VI:Control said they tried to buy from Best Service and they didn't have the serials yet. Best Service jumped the gun on Eventide's SplitEQ too, putting it up before Eventide did. And if you own anything by Arturia already, definitely wait until the sale starts, because there will no doubt be special prices for you when it starts. I'm hoping for $100 to upgrade to the latest version of the V series.

  31. Yes, Zo. The System-1, System-1m and System-8 have the capability to host some of the Roland plugins and run them independently of a computer. The System-1 series can host one of the monophonic plugins at a time (SH-101, SH-2, Promars and System-100) and the System-8 can host these plus the polyphonic ones (Jupiter-8, JX-3p, Juno 106 and Juno 60, the first 3 come free when you buy the keyboard) and it can keep 3 of these in the memory (you can select them with dedicated button on the front panel). At this moment only this 8 plugins have this so called "Plugout" capability in Rolandspeech. This is somewhat old news... as I said Roland alerady sort of phased out this technology in favor of the more efficient Zen-Core engine. But, as I also said, the ACB technology that empowers this Keyboards and plugins is the more realistic analog emulation that Roland have produced to this date. And I can attest the long way they come until it 'cause I have a JP-8080 HW synth to compare, powered with the very first Roland virtual analog engine (the same of the JP-8000, with some minor improvements). Here are some demonstrations:

  36. Even though this part of the year normally focuses on Black Friday sales we are coming up with a little free present. QuickAG has been updated. Bigger, better, brighter, smoother There is one major change in this version. It's the way this acoustic guitar mixing plugin acts after the 15-days trial version expires. Instead of generating noises, the plugin remains fully functional (soundwise). QuickAG 2.3 turns into a FREE second-hand version and only loses the chance to tweak some of the parameters. But you can still take the advantage of using a mighty FREE plugin. Presets made with the full version remain functional in the FREE version. To get the free version just download the trial version and let it expire. No registration or licenses are necessary. 50 Euros https://unitedplugins.com/QuickAG/

  38. Whenever I try to upgrade my Wives plugins they start acting up, giving me all kinds of strange messages and making weird, scary sounds. Removing them is also a pain, as the process either simply fails (the infamous "are you sure you want to do this?" loop) or some important stuff is removed with them (and even then they usually leave all kinds of useless clutter behind). I've also noticed that I can't use more than one in a single session or they interfere with each other. Lovely sound, though, and the UI is really pretty.
