  1. That would have been great, you were very close! There's enough to go around. If I like you enough I might even share my Lagavulin 11 (Offerman edition) or 16. Make fun of the counter? Jail. Don't join the group buy? Also jail. Play "Stairway to Heaven" through AmpliTube? Surprisingly, jail.

  2. We do operate in the same industry and are in direct competition with those very companies - we are like them, we're not some lesser company who makes inferior products or who operates in any less professional a manner. I'm sorry you had an unsatisfactory experience installing IK products but with or without snark, the IK Product Manager does make installations happen quite easily for the majority of people. We try to make sure FAQs like the following about installing and authorizing IK software are on the front page of the IK FAQ so you don't have to search to find them: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/faq/?id=1353 But obviously you didn't have that experience. Sorry about that, and I am sure we can help you with any issues that arise. But since you seem to have had an issue with a support ticket if I'm recalling correctly and this applies to anybody else here with similar complaints, you can send me your ticket numbers and I can have those reviewed. These can be teaching opportunities, I'm not about to get someone fired or anything. Of course I'll help you get taken care of but also have the experience used to improve. Yes, IK Product Manager is a nice leap and usually result in hassle-free installations but like anything it could improve. And it will. Personally I would like not only the unauthorize capability we already have but uninstall would be great to add. I've also suggested improvements to Custom Shop like giving us back the "gear I don't own" option for example. But your issues can help as well, because if everybody doesn't have the experience that bdickens has there's a reason. If it is something specifically happening to you, the support team should be able to identify and fix that. If it is a problem with Product Manager and it affects more than just you, it needs to be recreated, tested, fixed, tested, and released.

  3. Here's a thought...(I KNOW, it scares me too!) for future reference! What if IK were to give a percentage (like 25%) of the value of your tier (i.e...$199.99, $149.99, $99.99, etc...) in Jampoints as an option on the freebie list? At least that way those of us who can't get anything else would have "some benefit" out of our additional freebies, and others could use those bonus Jampoints to buy in again! I'll get me coat!

  8. Once you register it, you should see both ARC 3 and the free TR5 Deluxe in My Products (wait YOUR Products... Your My Products? Who's on first?) and IK Product Manager right away. If you bought it directly from IK it should appear there when the purchase is complete. They come back. Sorry to hear you had trouble.

  12. Ok...I've been misunderstanding the "Clock" this whole time.. there are 2 days left (42 hrs) including today...not 1! And THAT is why I didn't think we were going to make it! We should easily be able to make that next thousand in that amount of time!

  13. This is not a complaint, just an observation. I built a new computer this year and experienced the joy of reinstalling all my DAW software, 15+ years worth of stuff. Without question, the most convoluted install process was with SampleTank 3 & 4 and the legacy IK programs. It took several tries before I got everything installed properly and in the correct folders. I wrote down the procedure in the event I should live long enough to ever have to do this again: - - - - - run the IK Product Manager and change the download location to: D:\Downloads\IK Multimedia Sound Files copy the sound files in this folder to the backup drive; IK Multimedia places a 180 day limit on sound file downloads - - - - - after installing SampleTank 4 but before installing the sound files, run the program and change the library path to: F:\SampleTank 4 do NOT include a path to SampleTank 3 yet because then SampleTank 4 will install all sound files there instead SampleTank 4 install will automatically create a SampleTank 3 folder and install ST3 files there - - - - - after installing Syntronik but before installing the sound files, run the program and verify the correct library path: F:\SampleTank 3 Syntronik should already be pointed to this location Syntronik sound files *must* be installed in the SampleTank 3 folder - - - - - after the Syntronik sound files are installed, in SampleTank 4 add the library path for SampleTank 3 UNDERNEATH the path for SampleTank 4: F:\SampleTank 4 F:\SampleTank 3 now Syntronik can be used within Sampletank 4 - - - - - after installing Miroslav Philharmonik 2 but before installing the sound files, run the program and verify the correct library path: F:\SampleTank 3 the Miroslav Philharmonik 2 installation should default to this location as SampleTank 4 already installed Miroslav Philharmonik CE files there SampleTank 4 will recognize Miroslav Philharmonik 2 sound files without the need to install SampleTank 3 it is not necessary to uninstall Miroslav Philharmonik to recover hard drive space, as the sound files were initially installed into the SampleTank 3 folder - - - - - the SampleTank 3 program installation is only required if you want to import Sonik Synth and SampleTron; these sound files are not recognized in SampleTank 4 first, install Sonik Synth/SampleTron programs and sound files to their default locations it is not necessary to authorize the programs; they will be uninstalled after importing the sound files into SampleTank 3 NOTE: first delete C:\Program Files (x86)\IK Multimedia\Sonik Synth 2\Instruments\I Elements B\G Groove Elements\130BPM_ailing.sti; this file will abort the ST3 import process - - - - - after installing SampleTank 3, run the program and verify the correct library path: F:\SampleTank 3 Miroslav Philharmonik will be recognized automatically; Sonic Synth/SampleTron will need to be imported manually through the ST3 UI - - - - - after importing the Sonic Synth/SampleTron instrument libraries into SampleTank 3, uninstall Sonic Synth/SampleTron to recover hard drive space run SampleTank 4 Sampletank 4 will NOT import legacy sound files, but only create links to the original files now use SampleTank 3 for Sonik Synth/SampleTron and SampleTank 4 for everything else

  14. With 44 hours to go, the count is at 9054. That's now (just) ahead of the average pace that would take the number from 7075 when the "race to 10k" was announced on the 26th to 10k in the final hour of the 31st. (Assuming midnight EST, as Peter has kindly said is the "official" time zone.) To get over the hump requires an average of 22 signups every hour. Getting to the first 7k happened at a pace of around 14/hour, while 7075 turned into 9054 at a ~22.5/hour clip. In the past 18 hours, there have been 473 signups, or around 28/hour. So the overall trend is good. A last-minute surge would hit the mark comfortably; a drop-off could screw the proverbial pooch. The time, she will tell.

  15. Overall, the numbers look really good -- as long as the weekend rate holds steady or thereabouts. Peter said somewheres that the official clock is Eastern time, which means we're 3 hours away from two days left. If we were at 8800 with two days left, we'd need 600/24hours over each of those days to hit the mark. If we look at a few 24h time periods from the past couple of days: Midnight 8/28 (7734) - Midnight 8/29 (8302): 568 participants Noon 8/28 (7989) - Noon 8/29 (8581): 592 participants 4pm 8/28 (8106) - 4pm 8/29 (8715): 609 participants 6pm 8/28 (8156) - 6pm 8/29 (8768): 612 participants 9pm 8/28 (8244) - 9pm 8/29 (8872): 628 participants So we're currently chugging along at the rate we need -- and still speeding up, apparently -- but (a) there are three "extra" hours to work with and (2) also an "extra" 72 participants. Sprint to the finish!

  17. Counter update: 9693 / 307 to go. And 50+ signups/hour (on average) over the past 8 hours. Chugging right along!

  18. It only updates once an hour -- but happily, it just did. I'm seeing 9639 / 361 to go.

  19. Ah yes, thank you for asking. I am in Georgia (near Savannah) so we were safe this time. We have had some storms since I moved here but nothing terrible. I feel terrible for the folks in Louisiana right now, we do have a few people at IK whose families are there but so far they're as OK as one can be under the circumstances.

  21. With gas we are unable to separate our wants vs needs. This is what makes group buys work. 😆

  22. Welp, there's that last-minute bump, woo hoo! So long as the deadline is 23:59 EST on the 31st (there are questions about that in some... less data-driven corners of the interwebs, but all of Peter's communication here has been spot on with that assumption), the curve is humping way up over the line. 600 left to go in 33 hours, and 400+ signed up in the past 6 hours. My nerdy numbers are definitely no longer of interest. Or put another way:

  23. I just got in for another thanks to Fleer! The IK site was really, really slow but I was able to manage it, just. If Newegg was smart, they would do a big sale on solid state drives soon.

  27. It's on you, hehe. Seriously, though we have contacted literally millions of people directly and millions more indirectly. Large sums of money has been spent and great efforts on the organic growth side have been made, but I'm sorry if I implied that anybody was "doing my job" - I know I can be such a selfish person Anyway, we're doing all we can, but the participants put the "group" in "group buy".

  28. The initial high wears off a little after first hit. So to feel the rush again it’s important to go for a higher tier like $199. This will last a day or so and then you may need to go $59 followed by a $299 buy.….remember when your parents warned you if one kid jumped off a bridge would you jump too? This is the time to jump and buy IK so you won’t get judged by the cool kids in this forum. Just do it…Hehhe for the parents in this forum - don’t show this to your kids but we need to go to 10k so nothing is off limits including peer pressure haha

  33. My little sister (not my baby sister) went to her 50th middle school class reunion (Marina del Rey) last weekend and a couple of the guys asked if she was related to me. Um duh, our last name is not very common. One of the guys went on to play with an 80s star Teena Marie and another went on to become a music teacher in the Santa Monica area. They praised me to her as being "a great bass player". So, I must've been exposed to these guys but for the life of me I don't remember their names even though they say they got to play with me.
