  8. Libre Wave Hello, For the last couple of months I've been working on a jazz age inspired sample library for Rhapsody. Bell & Bone includes a trumpet and trombone. Both instruments feature a selection of idiomatic articulations and a range of mutes. It's available now for you, completely free! To get it you just need to install the latest version of Rhapsody, log in, and click to download/install it. Download Now A Joe-Blog Composer has made a great video overview which you can view by clicking the image below. Other News All Rhapsody instruments have had an upgrade so you'll need update both Rhapsody and the instruments you have installed. Most of the changes are cosmetic but there are a few functional ones: - The interface can now be resized by dragging from the bottom right corner. - The velocity curve is now per articulation, just like the AHDSR. - For instruments with a "Performance" articulation it's now possible to set the maximum attack and release time for that articulation. The actual value that will be used will still be determined by the instrument's scripting as it responds to your playing. - Support for mouse wheel to adjust velocity table curve - Fixed a few edge case crashes If you're interested in seeing me talk a bit about this update as well as upcoming projects I'm working on you can watch the video below. Black Friday It's that time of year again. Here's a coupon code that will give you a 40% discount across everything. The code is bf23 and you can use it at both Libre Wave and Xtant Audio. This code is valid from now until December 1st. Thanks as always for your kind support and feedback. If you have any questions, need assistance, or want to discuss anything please reply to this email and I'll get back to you. - David Healey

  16. David is a talented sample developer who's done work for a lot of popular KONTAKT developers over the years. I'm a customer of his Xtant Audio line of KONTAKT sample libraries. It has some very nice libraries that are priced pretty low. I've had a number of emails with him and found him to be a really helpful, kind and friendly person.

  18. Variants of the AI code can be found on git-hub (i.e. it's free), and I'm pretty sure a bunch of commercial implementations are based on this, only differing in the training data they've used. I've not seen the BandLab code however, so I can't speak for that. There are some extremely useful applications of this technology, depending on how you've trained it. For example: - Being able to split up drums when you've only recorded with 2 or 3 mics - Removing/reducing bleed from other drums... in fact removing/reducing bleed from any recording. - Being able to tweak the balance of instruments - Splitting chords into separate notes I've not personally seen any examples that are specifically trained in drums so far, but it's certainly do-able using the technology. I'd be surprised if it doesn't already exist though. The only downside is the artefacts that are pretty much always present in the results to some extent. For remixing, this is normally not an issue as when the stems are re-combined, they blend almost seamlessly. Tracks in isolation however might need some treatment. When I've played around with this, I've found the best results are when you combine the separated stems with the original, using a separated stem to boost/reinforce the original part. Keeping the separated stem at a fairly low level is enough to give that part a volume boost over the original without any artefacts becoming obvious.

  27. To clarify - it's 2023 and prior - so the entire Cinesamples catalog (Musio versions) including anything released in 2023. It's about 75 libraries in my app (all CineBrass, CineStrings, CineWinds, CinePerc, all pianos, keys, solo instruments, synths, choirs, etc.) Not so far. I own CineBrass Pro & Core and a few other libraries already, which I use heavily, but I haven't switched to the Musio versions of CineBrass yet. From what I understand it's less mic options, no keyswitching for some libraries & not as much customization, I just haven't compared yet. I don't generally use a lot of keyswitching (and don't really like how CineBrass is set up in Kontakt), and prefer microphone blend mixes, so liking the app so far. Also - they've added keyswitching patches to a few of the libraries. There seems to be keyswitching patches for all the CineOrchestra stuff that I've opened. There is a Youtube review where the guy actually prefers the simplified versions of the instruments and explains why. Wish I could find that review again, it the one that convinced me to get it as we had a similar work flow (preferring single articulation patches, a lot of library blending, etc.)

  33. The nomenclature for this process should be "ripping stems from a mixed track" so as not to be confused with actual 'stems' in the industry as detailed by @Glenn Stanton. Personally, I'm anticipating tons of copy and mechanical rights issues in the future from this nonsense.

  36. You already have a ton of effect plugins even just from UAD Signature. Komplete has a lot more diverse stuff if you want that. For me, I own KUCE 15, and I think that any Komplete edition is by far the best bang for buck bundle. Ton of quality stuff at a great price.

  39. FYI - the new Sonar has a new Track Manager button on both the Track View and Console View, which: 1. Allows quick access to your per-project Track Manager presets - i.e. they're listed in a drop-down menu 2. Can toggle the hidden state of all tracks 3. Gives a clear indicator as to whether any tracks are hidden 4. Allows you to quickly toggle the TV/CV sync state without having to open the track manager We can take a look at the PRV anomalies - it sounds like there's some weird conflict going on between PRV filters and the track hidden state. A more enhanced version of the Track Manager is likely on the cards at some point in the future - we started initial discussions, but has not been fully designed or scheduled yet.

  40. UAD any day of the week over Waves. Waves do have some great plugins, but UA for the equivalents are on par, or better in most cases, but no WUP and I'd say overall a better company, albeit plenty of people have been unhappy with them recently too! There are some tools Waves has that UA doesn't have natively yet, but nothing really unique, or exceptional that you can't get elsewhere. Waves offers do get tempting at times though.. I get it.. be strong! 🤣

  42. Oy - just received an email from PluginDiscounts that after all the drama that they were able to fulfil my order and get my codes. Don't know how many of these orders they were able to fix or if they only got a few and because I was communicating with them I got 'lucky' but now I've purchased the UAD bundle twice. So if you tried to purchase from PluginDiscounts - check your emails to see if they sent you your license code before buying it again from UAD.
