yes, it currently comes up clean with Malwarebytes .......but..... Google F-Secure McAfee (2 versions) Fortinet etc All showing positive. Upload 'availability.exe' from the \program files\ik multimedia\ik product manager\resources\ to Virustotal to see If you look at the results of an "actual-real-life-guaranteed Trojan" such as the 'similar' Trojan:W32/Lokibot (file hash is on the f-secure site) - this has a keylogger and a password stealer and you'll see lots of scanners say 'fine' - including Clam-AV, Acronis, Palo-Alto for example. A 'negative' is no guarantee of safety - just as a 'positive' is no guarantee of malware. Seeing 12 scanners, including some generally reliable ones, give a positive result raises lots of red flags for me. I really hope they are 'false positives' but it's entirely possible that a computer at IKM was infected and this found it's way into the installer package ? This situation is made even worse as IKM refuse to sign their Windows installers (saving approx $10!). Everybody needs to make their own mind up if it's safe to install, but it's important people know about it (IMO) so they can make the choice.....and that's why I'm posting about it on this forum. I would suggest that IKM should clarify what is going on. Also a bit odd they quietly deleted the virus warnings that other users had posted on their own website forum.....

Seriously, at least we had the experience playing in front of audiences. I loved playing . When I had an injury and all of that stopped, I can't begin to explain how much I miss being able to play with other musicians, to see music I play to bring joy to people. Now, attempting to play again, two decades later and finding even a few people who enjoyed something I played is a unexpected joy (especially when it's musicians), when I can't even play very well. Is really appreciated, but it can't compare to playing with other musicians and playing in front of an audience. And making multitrack recordings by yourself is something I've done since I was a kid, but it falls far short of the magic that happens when you interact with other musicians. To me, that's the greatest thrill of all playing music. I realize not everyone feels the same way, but for me, music is best when you collaborate. I've collaborated on two recordings since I've attempted to play again and that was the most fun I've had.

Actually between $179 USD to $499 USD a year, cheaper if you buy multiyear packages. Apple certs run around $100 per year. (maybe $10 if you consider splitting that cost over their numerous products) I've seen some cheaper Windows certs but they're issued per person not per company. But do 100% agree that a company IKM's size really should have their products signed.

it's just my 2cents but as a general rule I think it's worth having Windows Defender enabled, especially if you don't have any other antivirus software installed. On Windows 10 there is very little (more or less zero) CPU overhead although it can just slow down some things like opening Kontakt or big libraries. just my opinion

It's most likely to be just a false positive so no need to stress unnecessarily, but this is what I would do. 1. I'm assuming you are using Windows (?) - in that case make sure you update your virus definitions for Windows Defender (a Windows Update check will sort that). If you are on a mac then nothing to do, that was flagged as clean. 2. Do a full system scan with Windows Defender. 3. I can't imagine any reason why anyone would need to 'emergency update' any IKM products ? so no need to run the product manager for the time being. 4. It seems to be one very specific file in the "program folder" that I mentioned in a previous reply that is causing the problem - I'd be tempted to rename (or delete it). Or you could uninstall the product manager - again I don't think that affects any current installations or authorisations (unless you have a subscription?). Easy enough to re-install when the dust settles. IMO It's very good news if Windows Defender flags it - even if it's a false positive. This means that most Windows users are getting protected and might force IKM to do something about it. I haven't got it installed anywhere to be able to check it - might spin up a VM at some point and take a look, Hope that all makes sense and as I say I suspect that it's far more likely a false positive. Let us know what happens after you scan with windows defender.

it's %APPDATA% (percentage signs before and after - just cut and paste that into an explorer window) - which takes you to \appdata\roaming the .ddl (!) file is in the root of that directory - might be set to hidden by default ? msregsvv.dll Part of the IKM authorisation system clumsily masquerading as a MS ddl. There are others too, spread around your PC.

Yeah, I wish I could find a good singer! Back when I was young and playing, I worked as a drummer and finally found talented musicians who believed in my originals to form a band -- I even turned down a major label signed band (Veruca Salt) -- and instead focused on my own band and for several months of trying we couldn't find a decent lead singer and I finally threw in the towel. Two decades later I've been redoing those old songs singing -- when I didn't even make the cut for my original band back in the day (I never would have considered me as the lead singer, even though a bunch of people suggested it; I sang on demos and that was it). If anyone knows of a good way to find singers to collaborate with online, I'd be very interested. I have friends who are guitarists, bassists, keyboardists, and drummers but no singers beyond a friend who's an amazing jazz singer, but I do rock (plus she's a pro).

I have had to stop upgrading any of my izotope plugins because my computer is getting too old (?) to handle them so I get glitches and dropouts. I have read on here Izotope products can be heavy to use. I have closed the gui if I am having an issue and sometimes that helps.

100% agree with that entire post IKM have some very ugly coding practices (IMO) like using incorrect file extension in an attempt to hide the purpose of the file etc. It's this kind of nonsense that encourages AI/ML virus scanners to view these applications as suspicious (which it is!). I suspect their subscription coding is just as ugly. The 'unsigned' aspect is pretty unforgivable in 2023 too - it indicates IKM attitude to security - and their response to customer concerns....well not very impressive.

I just installed this library. What I've listened to so far sounds gorgeous. Really lovely organic soundscapes. Almost all patches have parameters mapped to the Macro knobs and the Mod wheel, and they're automatable. Very nice. I don't have Omnisphere, so I haven't worked with the original release, but the extensions for the SE version for Unify are extensive. It's not small (about 4.5 GB to download (3 .zip files)), but I still have about 400 GB free on my 2 TB sample drive, so it caused me no concern.

CSMultiCompanderV2 can be used to reverse the Pedal (CC64) in real-time and playback if you set it up like this: Select Ctrl Chng and type 64 in the box below it. Drag the left node up to 127, drag the right node down to 0. The two nodes in the middle don't matter for this application. Personally, I'd go for @MisterX's suggestion and rewire the thing 😎

I think it's probably fine. I suspect: Any ongoing downloads will be interrupted upon logout means any in-progress downloads will be stopped. It's unclear whether you'll have to start downloading from scratch the next time it starts up again, or if it will resume a partial download. Logging out will deactivate any active subscriptions and Ensure you reconnect within 72 hours. Failure to do so will render the product non-functional refer to the new piano subscriptions. In other words, you need IK Product Manager running in order to use the new pianos under their subscription plan. Just my guess though.

I tested Scaler, but it didn't seem irreplaceable to any free plugin, so I gave up. Instead, I used an arpeggiator and Chordz. Easier to use and specific. I didn't know about that, you're making me retake the test. Thanks

I know. That's why I posted his mix rather than the original. Protection is probably the Massive Attack album that I've listened to the least. I bought the Mad Professor mix years before the original.

No update or release by IKM without drama of some sort. I've stopped giving them my money for several reasons, this being one of them. Modo Bass 1 and Mixbox are still in use, but I will keep it this way and ignore things that may come or not. Other vendors are getting their act together, so I better look there.

Ok. I have to correct myself here regarding this. This was a free update to version 6. When I clicked for details in the email my browser said it was unsecure so I never read the full details. I just manually went to the site and checked it out. This was actually a huge update in some regards. They now have native Dolby Atmos support. You don't have to pay extra for a Dolby Atmos license/plug-in. You can mix and export. This is something I would actually use. I always liked mixing instrumentals I recorded in surround but never had a way to export to a file that was playable on a surround system.

If the range for CC64 is set from 0 to 127, can you change it to go from 127 to 0 (i.e., swap max and min values)?

Usually delete it and install the latest download. The best thing is to never update it unless there is something you have that needs to be fixed.
