I am finding after one of the recent updates that when I play back of a time stretched clip that I haven't yet bounced down, I get a pop following the clip during playback. Its especially noticeable if there is reverb or delay on that track. I believe I have elastique as my algorithm. Once I bounce to clip, it goes away. This is new. Anyone else see/hear this? Its happened in multiple songs I think after the last update 2019:01

I updated to 2019.01 but the Add on TE selection is grayed out (tho checked). Do I have to install one of the other listed items (SI Suite, Drum Replacer, Melodyne) to get it? Currently TE only has VST2 Text.

Updated to 2019.01 and issue seems to be gone. Maybe aside from reverting to DEMO mode, things like this are set to go wanky if you don't log in or update.

A better question in February 2019, 10 months after the first release of Cakewalk by BandLab: why does this subject continue to hold such a fascination for some people, one that shows no sign of ending? Me, I think I'm done. It's like trying to explain when a 4-year-old asks why the room gets bright when you flip the light switch: no answer will ever be satisfactory. I can say that I have learned some things from these spirited discussions. For instance: 1. Nothing's ever free, and DAW software that is distributed under a freeware license will at some point extract an unspecified "payment" from those foolish enough to use it without being in a constant state of sub-clinical paranoia. You'll see. Laugh now. You won't be laughing when this unspecified bad thing eventually happens. 2. Nothing can make sense in the world except things that are within the grasp of my own personal understanding, no matter what my age, education or experience. This especially applies to software industry and online social media platform business strategies. In other words, if I don't get what they're doing, they're either doomed or up to no good. 🤨 (or both) -

2019.01 build 27 was released last week

Using Version 2019.01 (Build 24, 64bit), I noticed when I create an Instrument Track, select an instrument like SI-Bass Guitar (or any other instrument), during the active session ,I can address the track in the normal manner and use it successfully. After I save he same project then reopen the same project, the Instrument track Is avaliable but the instrument is no longer avaliable in the track. Is there a work-around to this behavior?

Thanks for the help, scook! There are no error indications. There are no indications at ALL, really - nothing appears to be happening. I don't THINK they are broadcast wave files - they are whatever BIAB 2019 does when it exports to wave. I verified that Always Import Broadcast Waves at Their Timestamp is turned of, but regardless, no import appears to happen.

I have more than one project bundle from an earlier version (Sonar X3e) that when I open in 2019.01 I get this strange behaviour. The vocal track has 2 effects, VX-64 Vocal Strip and BREVERB 2. When I try to play the project the vocal track makes a loud click and the VU meters are pegged and no sound is heard for the entire project. If I mute that track the rest of project plays normally. If I disable the effects on that track the project plays normally (with no vocal effects). If I delete the BREVERB 2 effect from the vocal track, then immediately CTRL-Z to undo that, everything works normally. But when I save the project and re-open it, I get the same weird behaviour. I have BREVERB on other tracks in my project and it works properly there. Does anyone have any insights, or can point me to some info? -

Well then, imagine a similar scenario for BandLab and you'll be well on your way to understanding! What I'm having a hard time understanding is how it is, almost a year after BandLab issued their first, already improved version of Cakewalk, along with a statement to the existing user base about their intentions, followed by nothing but the kind of free updates (stability and speed fixes, prayed-for features) that most long-term user bases would die for, and living up to the statement of intent, we are still getting getting salvos from the Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt Brigade. We beat the poor horse past recognition in the old forum. It's 2019! If there's someone alive, much less a computer user, who can seriously ask the question "how can you make money on free software?" Your web browser, your Android phone, at least half the web servers you visit every day....FREE SOFTWARE. The operating system, Windows 10, on the computer I am using, is effectively free software. Why? It came with Windows 7 installed on it 8 years ago, and Microsoft upgraded it for....free. Windows 10 must have cost a FORTUNE to code! And they say that it's a lifetime upgrade license, too, just like Sonar Platinum. OMG, everyone knows you can't make money doing that! How are Microsoft going to stay in business? -

I think this follows the recipe running in CbB 2019.01 build 27 The video starts after opening the MIDI file and shows adding 2 folders between tracks 2 and 3, resizing a track 3 and removing both folders with undo. Check the lens menu. Try setting it to none if a lens is specified. -
I don't save the installers, I haven't since Bandlab took over. Its not like the Sonar days where the installer was saved to Command center. Now you must save the install before completing the installation process. I haven't had any issues with new releases so ive never needed to save any installers. I was simply trying to save you the hassle of wasting your time. Band lab calls home with each new release. Trying to install 2019.01 will require Bandlab 5.0.3

This behavior can be reproduced in Cakewalk by BandLab 2019.01 Build 27 and SONAR Platinum 2017.10 Build 14 using the following steps: 1. Create New Empty project. 2. Drag a Track Template from the Media tab of the Browser. 3. Close the Project. 4. Attempt to open a new project using either the File > Open... menu or the Existing Projects option from the Start Screen. Results: The files explorer opens in the Track Template directory last selected in step 2. Hope this helps, Ron

You can now select multiple tracks using the Shift and Command (on macOS) or Ctrl (on Windows) and they'll be grouped together. The Shift modifier acts as a clutch to temporarily free a fader from the group. Note that Adding or Removing a track clears the group.
